I wouldn't even really call dismemberment by light sabre that violent tbh. Since it cauterizes the severed limb, no blood spurts out. Whereas in horror games and others which have a lot of gore, dying light for example, has a ton of dismemberment. You can cut the zombies in half, horizontally and vertically, and all of their limbs, all the while blood sprays everywhere. Cutting off a limb or two in star wars, especially with a light sabre, doesn't even compare to that kind of gore. Not to mentioned the enemies you fight are all wearing armour, which really gives them a less human feel. It'd be more like cutting up combat droids.

Kind of strange that Fallen Order didn't have dismemberment, but The Clone Wars a "kids" show had some pretty brutal moments. I know Clone Wars was pre Disney but still odd.
they could just add a "kid friendly mode" or something like that. The dismemberment stops working if this option is turned on.
I mean, look at Force Unleashed 2. It had simple, but very good dismemberment mechanics.
Disney should just stop doing Star Wars if they're unwilling to accept that lightsabers cut off limbs.
Or just stop doing Star Wars, period. That would be best.

7:48 the force unleashed 1 didn't have any dismemberment, I've been playing it recently and I noticed the lack of it
The lightsabers in that game feels like baseball bats
At least fallen order has non dismembering cuts

The wii version of Force Unleashed 2 also let you cut stormtroopers in half at the waist.
Would be cool if making new levels was possible. Having a side adventure going back to Bracca or perhaps some other imperial base could be really awesome.

I've been searching for dismemberment mods for this game for so long.
‘Teen rating’
Because my fragile teenage mind cannot possibly handle the concept of losing a limb
The modes presented made me say "NY HO HO!"
The developers of Mordhau are probably the experts in terms of dismemberment in the Unreal Engine lel.
In regards to what I'd like to seen in FE2.
I written it before, but something I think would be beneficial is a more in depth saber combat system and skill tree. One that incorporates the established forms (Form I through to VI, VII isn't within Cals temperament). It will be inline with the games skill tree, the lore, and the overall game design.
It just doesn’t feel right if the enemies dont get sliced. Its not even about gore missing its just an essential effect of lightsabers that if missing makes it feel like a stick instead of a dangerous weapon.

The very first episode of the Mandalorian shows a protagonist cutting a guy in half with doors.
One game that comes to mind is metal gear solid rising vengeance which did have dynamic dismemberment and I played that when I was about 8 so not even double digits yet

They should add it but at the beginning of the next game it will ask if the player wants it on or off and you could just toggle it in the settings.

Not every time. Theres a few cases where there is blood-severed arm in a new hope, blood spray from maul getting cut in half in phantom menace
@An aching Ski Walker Meh'. Disneys bleh, Star Wars TCW and other cartoons are more understandable. Also-honestly, plasma weaponry's actually gonna give you a mixture of debilitating burns, dehydration, and rapid expansion.

I think they can get away with dismemberment if they are stormtroopers and you can’t actually see their face. That’s how dismemberment happens a lot in Star Wars. When you can see the character’s face and they are dismembered the camera cuts away. But characters with helmets are shown being dismembered and dicapitated all the time. Jango Fett, Clone Troopers, Pratorian Guards, and Death Watch Troopers, are all dismembered and it’s shown fully on screen.

Well lightsabers are supposed to slice through (almost) everything like butter, so having no dismemberment by default, just feels like trashing people with a broomstick.

Its not even the about the gore that much, rather about acurate light saber. It just feels weird, like you hitting them with a glowing baton
i say add an option to turn it on and off for people who might get queezy seeing dismemberment, and to maybe bypass the age rating.
what i dont get is how in the movies it takes 1 light saber slash to cut them in half. But in the game you can die to a guy wearing plastic armor even when you hit them over and over again
