I beat my first run game with the E Greataxe! E Greataxe+Craigsblade+fire infusion, flame strength incant, golden vow prep on creastus mitten (light and error proofs seeing it vs daggers active). A few good options: Dismounter Blade with Storm Blade (a little farming for the dismounter needed, back behind the five trolls base game area, nearly the whole game) Lordsworn's Greatsword with Sacred Blade (super easy to get in the beginning, very effective the whole game) "Side-arm" daggers with Storm Blade, Sacred Blade, and Glintstone Pebble are very useful, lightweight, and easy to keep in active switching. Have even beat Caelid Radahn with Misericorde+Sword Phalanx.
overall I'm a bit confused. I don't see the point in bringing up guard counters & a better heavy attack when both the rusted anchor & the executioner's greataxe get the same motion values for both of those things and have the same moveset? rusted anchor is always going to come out on top with everything for that matter in most of the game simply cuz piercing damage is the most favorable physical damage type in the game. bringing up the lightning infusion as something that makes this weapon disappointing is also something I just don't understand, lightning infusions will ALWAYS favor dex since that's gonna be your main stat increasing lightning damage so in theory every infusable strength weapon in the game with a lightning infusion is disappointing
@@nemxo0709 when making this video I had the impression they had different infusion scaling. But they don’t so ya that’s my bad. However the reason why I say the charge attacks are better for the executioner greataxe is because it just gets higher AR, however the rusted anchor is better with guard counters due to pierce damage. As when you are doing charge attacks you aren’t really gonna want to do it while the opponent is attacking. While with guard counters 99% of the time you are gonna do it when the boss is attacking. Finally the reason why I considered it disappointing was really only because I wanted to make a Dragonslayer armor build but it sadly wouldn’t be good. But ya saying the rusted anchor is better is definitely fair.
all lightning infusions scale with dex. that's how it goes
longhaft axe > executioners greataxe

@@banesmanus ok the point with the cosplay is actually fair & funny lol.. yea it's a shame that it's less viable
Allat just for Rusted Anchor to be inferior to the Executioner in every concievable aspect.
