Here is a class! We have no such thing in Ukraine. You have a strong material and technical base, everything is very clear and beautiful. In general, I watch all your videos, although not knowing English) I also work as a bricklayer and try to take something useful from you) thanks for the cool videos and cool work!
Thanks Stu that took me back 55 years when I started college learning the trade, I already knew a bit as dad would take me with I’m on some jobs. He was an army trained brickie when he due to be demobbed
To Dominic, I did a degree in music production at Leeds metropolitan, now I’m bricklaying and building for my dad, like stu & KC. Me n my old man work everyday. Never thought I’d be building extensions and walls like I am except you’ve gone to college and I’ve learnt the old school way. Well done pal
Have been watching you videos for some time, you've inspired me to have a go at building a garage at home. Wish I'd known you were at Bishop Burton college, I could have dropped in to say hello!
Stu. Can you share some of your conversations? Really interesting to hear both your insights into the trade and how it’s changes over the years. Great content. Keep it up.
Nice to see behind the scenes. I wasn’t good enough to represent my college (Rcat). At the time I use to throw my work up sharpish and go for an hour fag break to let the others catch up. Great footage 👍👍👍
French mason is watching ure work and local tips In my country we dont build bricks but stones ;) But im really interested to learn more about bricks , many things to try and create Sad that my english is too Bad , i dont understand what u Say ure talking all too fast for me :( Have fun ! :)
what happens to these walls afterwards? do they just disasemble it before it sets properly? can the motar be reused/storesd? are the bricks able to be reused too? Or do they need to be destroyed
Joints are recessed to much, they do this in Canada too often and it means the bricks get wet from water seeping into the bricks from the recessed joints, the water freezes and blows the face off the bricks, the bricks start crumbling away. The joint really needs to be tapered to shed water.
Great video and great works! Just saw the wienerberger logo in the background and wonder, if these bricks that where used are from this company? Because I have never seen such bricks here in austria
Then they all get on site and build off of profiles day in day out......after thirty years of that brickies are sick of bricklaying. I only enjoy the rare occasions when I get to build something special that showcases my skill.
Its weird there doing tricky builds and alot of them where level 1 and im only moveing onto more advanced builds in level 3 now there talented brickies, but I guees its because its a competition
Hard to believe that we have millions of unemployables doing nothing, millions of graduates with phoney baloney degrees not worth the paper they are written on and we have to rely on Eastern Europeans to come across and earn big bucks these days laying bricks for us. Tradesmen are a vital part of society and anyone that wants to get into plumbing, sparkying building, tiling etc is to be encouraged and congratulated. I'd rather have trade and the opportunity to earn good money than go to university to be saddled with debt and brainwashed by a bunch of neo liberal muppets
The kids were enjoying themselves but disappointing regarding health & safety. Some kids no LEP, others wearing them on the top of the head, some with gloves, some without, staff walking through with no PPE at all, tutors without it who should be setting an example! A great project but spoilt with lack of consideration for supporting better h&s attitude, especially with young learners. Good job OFSTED never call in unannounced!

Hello stu.
Only one lad put his brick on edge in a dead man & bedded in one. The best way to start on a open end,.
All the best Jim
