Glad you think so!! I'm the guy who directed, edited, and played Wallace in that one--accuracy was the goal! It was interesting, finding ways to match every camera angle and character movement. In fairness to Jack, I always felt that scene of the movie was underrated, Wallace sleep-texting has me in stitches every time and I never hear it talked about to the same extent as 'Bread makes you fat' or 'You know what, he just left'.

regarding the adobe sponsorship and the speech-to-text feature: i really can't see how i [or really, most closed captioners for that matter] could save a significant amount of time using that feature. this is coming from a closed captioner of two youtube channels. i would still have to go in and fix the capitalization, separate the captions into hundreds, sometimes thousands of titles (depending on the length of the project), format specific parts of the captions with italics and music notes when necessary, fix mistakes created by the automation, and add information about the sound effects and background music in square brackets. these are all things i'd rather do on a blank slate, for free. it would probably take the same amount of time as the adobe solution, anyway.

There were some examples that were hard for me to get at first, but the last one (Thor: Ragnarok) I got immediately, not because of the characters around and trying to guess the speech, but the Jack Kirby visual design on the green wall. That part was really well done!
I clicked on this video thinking "someone will do the big lebowski for sure" and they delivered! That was one of the best made ones too, so obvious what it is from the first frame because they went to the same location. They even included the mistake from the movie where a sound guy is standing off in the background. This was an awesome idea jack!

I've actually never seen a Marvel movie, but I've seen that clip because I love Tom Hiddleston and I recognized the wall and the pose immediately
regarding the adobe sponsorship and the speech-to-text feature:
i really can't see how i [or really, most closed captioners for that matter] could save a significant amount of time using that feature. this is coming from a closed captioner of two youtube channels.
i would still have to go in and fix the capitalization, separate the captions into hundreds, sometimes thousands of titles (depending on the length of the project), format specific parts of the captions with italics and music notes when necessary, fix mistakes created by the automation, and add information about the sound effects and background music in square brackets.
these are all things i'd rather do on a blank slate, for free. it would probably take the same amount of time as the adobe solution, anyway.

I love that I knew immediately that it was infinity war, Batman returns, and Ragnarok while jack didn't know about it until the end.
Finding out Camtoonist watches Jack has gotta be the highlight of my week. Knew the animation style at the first frame!
There were some examples that were hard for me to get at first, but the last one (Thor: Ragnarok) I got immediately, not because of the characters around and trying to guess the speech, but the Jack Kirby visual design on the green wall. That part was really well done!

I clicked on this video thinking "someone will do the big lebowski for sure" and they delivered! That was one of the best made ones too, so obvious what it is from the first frame because they went to the same location. They even included the mistake from the movie where a sound guy is standing off in the background. This was an awesome idea jack!
I appreciate that you did an ad about captions being important, I have sensory processing issues and captions make a huge difference in whether or not I understand everything being said
