Because it cost the amount of a house for gas in 2022, I’m dusting off my 05 gsxr600 and its been at least 5 years since ive rode it....I haven’t even tried to start it , but I’m sure this video will have come in handy. thanks for the simple explanation and instruction.
I caught Co-Vid Monday this week. Had Ben riding regularly. Topped off gas last sunday. Today, Saturday I couldn't start my bike, a Yamaha MT-03, 2021. Same sound and inability to start. Less than a week and I wasn't expecting any trouble. Seems h's like I Will need to same process. My thought was either not enough air off not getting gas. Thank you for sharing!!! *****
Today I have tried to revive my kawasaki ninja 250R that has been sitting inside a garage for seven years, it would crank but not start. I am definitely trying the same trick with the injectors tomorrow after work, thank you very much for posting. 👍
I'm giving this a shot tomorrow on my Z400, so shouldn't be drastically different from this 300. Same thing, stored three months over the winter, didn't use fuel stabilizer (I've read so much positive and negative info about it, some say it does more harm than good for certain things). Ruled out battery, plugs aren't readily accessible until I tear down a bit under the tank, however new plugs were installed 6000 Km ago last summer. Fingers crossed it's the injectors needing to be unstuck, and I can get everything back together ok. This is first time doing this type of work, I've let the dealership handle it until now (31000km on the Z). I've done my own oil changes, removed rear wheel, etc...
Hello my friend, Quick question what are those wires/cables you used to test the injector that you connected the battery with ? I’m looking into buying me it.
What do you call for the clips you used for the injectors so I can order it too online? I have the same problem on my bike. I just left it for a week. If I tried to hold the starter switch it will eventually runs the machine but when I tried to rev the throttle the engine dies. Will it fix the problem if I did this? My Spark Plugs are also almost new. I Just used it for almost 4000km. Thanks
Can this test be done without removing the injectors from the throttle body? Was able to get the electrical plugs off of the injectors but It’s a pain to remove the fuel rail
Bro how did you get past the fuel lines and everything’s on top of the injectors?? I have a 2017 and I have a wholeeee lot of shit on top of it including metal pipes I can’t see how I can move them
whas it running at all in the start or did it run porely..?? did a rebuild on my ond engine engine starts but as soon as i pull the throthle it stalls at 2000rpm and then picks up and revs...and runs poorly too....
A fuel injected engine is much more resistant to sitting than a carburetted bike. For a bike with a carburettor I wouldn't leave gas in it for more than 4 weeks. A fuel injected bike can sit for 3 months and still start, but its always best to check the smell of the fuel. if it smells weird, get rid of it. (You'll know what i mean as soon as you smell bad gas). Octane level has no effect.
Just did this with my ninja 300 after left sitting for a year in ax sun, it would not start I replaced the battery cleaned tank new fuel pump regulator and the injectors made the same noise any ideas? Possibly spark plugs but that seems odd?
I have a ninja 300 2017 ABS model... i was excited when it looked easy to get to like that... But i have this big block with hard lines running to it and more cables sitting RIGHT above the fuel injectors... I think its the parts to the ABS system... it makes it much much more difficult to get to...
My boss son left his CBR in the temp controlled shop for 10 years with gas in it. He wants to get rid of the bike but it won't start. Is it worth buying it or do you believe I will have big issues with a bike that sat for 10 years in a climate controlled shop?
My 07gsxr600 has been sitting for 7 months I got new rectifier battery is super dead, it cranks over slow at 1st with jumper cables then fast fuel pump and everything is working! Could the battery being dead not provide enough power to run fuel pump?
I bought a bike that was sitting for 5 years, I put in a new battery because it was missing one. And it started up I rode it up and down the driveway (im a new rider) then parked it again a few weeks later I tried starting it up agin to practice and nothing. Friends suggested new gas, so I drained the old gas and put new gas in it and it’s still not starting. :(
$200, minimum 5 hours per job. You should practise and learn to do the job yourself. You'll make many mistakes and learn from each one. Soon your friends will be asking how much you charge per hour!
If the Plugs were to be hooked up I bet the bike turns ON. The problem here was the Fuel Injectors were not pluged in. The rest is Not Needed frok what I saw
Anyone tell me where to get a pair of those leads? I have tgis problem with my 2016 ninja 300. Had a guy come vy to fix it and wanted to spray starter fluid into my air intake to crank the bike... so... long story short he will not be coming back. So im gonna try to fix it myself cause there are no shops near me.
New injectors New gas cleaned fuel pump because 325 is too much for a new fuel pump. Still won't start. Either spark plugs or fuel pump? Don't know. Sound like fuel pump kicks on. I want to ride this darn thing
I have a 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 have the same problem that you just displayed I'm going to try what you did and I hope it works. I believe it will. I have the same problem I let it sit for the winter after I wrote it hard and tried to start it 3 months later would not start, it would idle but once I tried to get gas it died

I am pretty sure you just saved me from selling my bike for parts as well... Thank you so much....
Glad I could help!

Hey! Did you manage to get it working?
Did you get to try this out?
This saved me having to pay someone else to fix my bike. My ABS cables made it extra challenging but got it done. Thank you so much for sharing!
Did you have to take your abs off or did you work around it because from my perspective it’s impossible to take the fuel rail off with the abs on top

Very clear and useful. Thanks for sharing!
Simply amazing!!! Thank you so much!!! I’m going to try this on my WR250r that’s been sitting for several months!!!
Glad I could help
I might be having the same issue with my VFR 800, thanks for the info, I’ll try the same thing hopefully it helps…
Appreciate you doing this vidieo I have 2008 honda 10000 rr sitting 7 years with fuel ,wish me luck ✌️
Good luck!
How’d it go?

Always such a nice explanation
Thanks!
same trouble with my yamaha mt25..
i have check the firing , fuel pump , also cleaning the throttle body..
i'll check for the injector now
Could you not just spray car cleaner down the fuel hose after lifting up the tank? Would that work?
What do you call for the clips you used for the injectors so I can order it too online? I have the same problem on my bike. I just left it for a week. They are called aligator clips but you can just use any power lead from standard 240v devices and cut the leads and wire them up
Can this test be done without removing the injectors from the throttle body? Was able to get the electrical plugs off of the injectors but It’s a pain to remove the fuel rail

Could you do this with the injectors still in the bike?
This video is great, proper helpful. I got a question what do I type in to find those cables?
This is the best place to look www.motionpro.com/c/tools
Thank you so much. helped me solve the same issue on my 17 MT09. Much
Glad I could help
you me to dude I wanna thank the both of you just because I just so goddamn happy!
How much is that injection pump?
Tengo una victory tormenta estarea pero no arranca k devo de aeropuerto ei me pueden ayudar
whas it running at all in the start or did it run porely..?? did a rebuild on my ond engine engine starts but as soon as i pull the throthle it stalls at 2000rpm and then picks up and revs...and runs poorly too....
It wouldnt start. Easy fix.
I need a 2006 Kawasaki 650r gas tank ang pump do you have forsale
That random thing on top of the battery is the relay box
I got the same bike same year thats been sitting for years. Only 300 miles on it😞
How long is a long time? 3 months? 6 months? Was the fuel premium or a lower octane?
A fuel injected engine is much more resistant to sitting than a carburetted bike. For a bike with a carburettor I wouldn't leave gas in it for more than 4 weeks. New plugs, and clean the injectors. I bet it will run

But i have this big block with hard lines running to it and more cables sitting RIGHT above the fuel injectors... I think its the parts to the ABS system... it makes it much much more difficult to get to...
Thanks for the heads up. I have 2019 Z400 so might have to deal with ABS modules in the way when I try to tackle this tomorrow.
Another useful knowledge thanks 👌
My boss son left his CBR in the temp controlled shop for 10 years with gas in it. He wants to get rid of the bike but it won't start. Is it worth buying it or do you believe I will have big issues with a bike that sat for 10 years in a climate controlled shop?
it will be easy to fix. replace the fuel injectors and it will start easily.
What did you do?
My 07gsxr600 has been sitting for 7 months I got new rectifier battery is super dead, it cranks over slow at 1st with jumper cables then fast fuel pump and everything is working! Could the battery being dead not provide enough power to run fuel pump?
If it cranks it has more than enough to run the pump. Check the injectors
When you started the bike cold, did you hear the fuel pump turn on?
Yes. But no fuel from the injector
I have My Honda ace is not starting
What are those little testers called?
Fuel injector tester from motion pro
Petrol and Ethanol are literally the same exact thing arent they? I thought Diesel was the only fuel that was different?
letmegooglethat.com/?q=whats+the+difference+between+ethanol+and+gasoline

Check the fuel injectors as shown here
My bike hasnt been started or ridden in a year and a half. What could happen?
Ethanol in the fuel causes this problem.
@@ShaunNielsen what should I do?
How much do you charge an hour.?
$200, minimum 5 hours per job. You should practise and learn to do the job yourself. You'll make many mistakes and learn from each one. Soon your friends will be asking how much you charge per hour!
200/hr? youre high@@ShaunNielsen
Hmm, I'll give this a try on the 600rr that I'm having Issues either. To bad there are 8 injectors in that thing. Oh well, easy to get to.
I ended up fixing the cbr. Was a wiring issue, no ground for the tps, map, ect. Ran a new ground for them and bike runs fantastic!
Good job. You saved a lot of money doing it yourself
If the Plugs were to be hooked up I bet the bike turns ON. The problem here was the Fuel Injectors were not pluged in. The rest is Not Needed frok what I saw
you need to watch the whole video to see whats going on.
I noticed this, too. 😂 but he needs to make money. And now that bike has been gone through. Win win, everyone is happy.
Anyone tell me where to get a pair of those leads? I have tgis problem with my 2016 ninja 300. Try pushing it in gear 1 or 2, as you gain momentum immediately dump the clutch and see if it can start. Most of the time the bike just starts.
I just picked up a zx11 that’s been sitting for 12 years lol I don’t even know where to start
check everything that has touched gasolene
Hahaha you forgot to cut the edit and redo on putting the tank down ahhaha
New injectors New gas cleaned fuel pump because 325 is too much for a new fuel pump. Still won't start. Either spark plugs or fuel pump? Don't know. Sound like fuel pump kicks on. I want to ride this darn thing
dont forget to check compression too.
I love you
Love you too :-)
Could be a battery too not every thing is fuel related 👍🏼
If the motor cranks fast but it wont start, its not the battery.
I have a 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 have the same problem that you just displayed I'm going to try what you did and I hope it works. I believe it will.
