Thanks for that. I stayed there for a week on a family holiday, something like 50 years ago. It's changed a lot. All there was then was a small play park and a wee supermarket.

There’s a new toilet block not far from reception. You can see it behind Mazzy 20mins into video. They’re all unisex but self contained cubicles with shower and toilet included. You can empty your cassettes behind the block. The cameras in the top/older block had to have cameras installed as they were being vandalised by unsupervised kids, I’ve had to clean up a few code browns over the summer and some other deliberate messes. 💩😮
That's where l emptied my cassette 😁

Very nice campsite 😍 so happy you're in scotland 💕 are you going to visit the Wigtown Covenantor martyrs? One of these martyrs was called Margaret Wilson aged 18yrs, she is my ancestor - she was tied to a stake in the sea to drown for attending Presbyterian church of scotland meetings that were made illegal by the english gov, who were trying to suppress it in 17th century. I do hope you visit it! 👍

The German Me 262 was the first operational jet during WW2 that saw combat, the British Meteor was around too, although in much much less numbers and much less effective. But was upgraded and used up until the late 50's I believe.
Maybe it was the only allied jet then.
@@TravelTrollsTV I think it was, Americans had something going on too I think but I believed they had it cancelled! Still, the Meteor is brilliant.
there is a lovely quiet site in this area called ballock o dee you should try it so peaceful and quiet

That site was fantastic , shame that the bar and other amenties were shut, Dan you need a fishing rod i could see you sat there with a few cans and mazzy sorting out a litle picnic. great blog

Hi Dan & Mazzy, we used to have a static caravan on this site. Have never seen it so empty . Things have changed over the last few years.

Great video .. great channels ( x 2 ) 👍🏻 just wondering regarding the rural internet box, when you said there was no signal just on phone but you was getting a connection ( Preston ) with the box.. was that with or without the extra aerial thing that is designed to go outside ? I’m looking at this type of system or the fixed Avtex system for our motorhome. Can anyone give their opinion please ?
It was without. It wasn't picking up from Preston, that was my error. Rural Internet is incredible.
I love Brighouse and have stayed there many times. I like the lack of phone signal - you can usually get free WiFi outside the golf course clubhouse though. In terms of things to do. we loved the Red Kite feeding station and Cream O’ Galloway but I’m not sure if they are open at the moment. Loving your Scottish videos! 😀
Mazzy doesn't like ice cream so we are giving that a miss.
