I noticed he hasn't stopped smiling for one minute. At first I thought he's a bit weird, but then the glass of wine popped up briefly and I believe they're both generously sated
      - and feeling pretty good. That might account for the bright red tones around their faces. I guess that's a give away for Caucasians. I was slow to figure that out.

I actually found out about you through the cuban missile crisis videos. I was doing a history project on the crisis and I cited you and those videos because... well, you're a real historian. And it beat reading some dry 300 page essay from some guy who thinks way too highly of himself. I actually had to watch the series a few times because the first time, I was so enthralled I forgot to take notes. Then as I was writing the essay I would wonder if there was something specific like... oh I don't know, the time, day and the people that were in a certain meeting. You had it. It was incredibly thorough.
Don't think those awesome videos went unappreciated :)
And you know what? They are so damn good I won't even mind watching them again with your refined production quality. I'll sit down and watch them just as enthusiastically as I did the first time. I love what you and your crew do. Thank you for bringing history to life and for fueling my addiction to learning

Currently stuck myself BUT my friend is a crazy prepper type so we've got plenty of food and water as well as all the toilet roll we could ask for so I'm currently sitting out the quarantine in relative comfort.
Also, I'm currently on a 'no-fault suspension' so I still get paid and was actually between two rentals when I got stuck so my whole life is packed up in cardboard boxes in the garage. It's a bit bizarre to be in this situation with no home, job suspended, in lock-down with all of my old friends.
P.S. I know no-one gives a shit, just felt like sharing as this week has really made me take stock of my life so far.

The house has history. It used to belong to US born Wilhelmina Busch of the Anheuser-Busch family. She was called the Dollar Queen of Bavaria and was first married to a Nazi, whom she divorced to marry Sam Woods, trade attaché to the US Embassy in Berlin. The house was part of her rather extensive and luxurious domains in the region and she was famous for her lavish parties all the way from the 1920s to her death in 1952. She entertained folks like Ruprecht of Bavaria, Mussolini, Hitler and Eisenhower here. During the war Busch and Woods went to stay in Switzerland and in 1995 when the 50 year moratorium on many WW2 top secret files of the OSS and US Foreign Service ended, it was revealed that Woods was one of the most important intelligence operatives of the Allies. He ran a spy ring that among other things smuggled out the Nazi nuclear bomb plans. Today the house is part of a park under heritage protection. It was once Wilhelmina's private deer garden, but is now open to the public as per her will and testament. Astrid and I are the custodians of the house, and with heavy restrictions due to the heritage status we maintain it in exchange for the right to live here.
