You have to post the corsa exhaust once its done. Im looking to install the blow off valve soon. Also i heard that installing a catch can is a good idea for these motors. You have one installed yet?

When I was looking for a pickup I was dead set on a V8. Then I test drove the 3.5 ecoboost and got goosebumps test driving it. They're impressive. There is no 'eco' tho.

This could explain a lot, haha. I’m a carpenter and only know basic car and truck shit. I’ve been test driving 150s all week with the turbo motors and all of em sounded the same except one. I’m like dam I can hear this turbo hissing like crazy it was a night and day difference. Good video.

2011 3.5 182000 Miles no mayor problems just regular service, oil catch can a corsa DB exhaust that sounds great even the turbos got louder

Great video I just stumbled across it my BOV bracket didn't align properly with intercooler. I made it work, but it was like the first generation BOV Kits for the 2015 F 150.
Thank you! And yeah I believe they had that issue back in the day and still sometimes do. It’s aftermarket it happens but Aslong as you made it work that’s all that matters!

You can also remove the turbo silencers. Remove the y pipe of the intake plumbing, then you can remove the silencers that are installed in the pipe. For those of you who might read this and try, the silencers look like a fan blade made of plastic and are seated in the pipe at the splices. There is two. Remove both and reinstall y pipe. Cheers

I’d like to remove the silencers to see what it sounds like and then do an intake.
They aren't silencers, they dampen air turbulence to allow your turbos to suck air more efficiently. You don't know better than the engineers no matter what momma told you about being a smart boy.
@@chillwill5080 my turbos got louder when I took them out. Therefore they got called silencers.

No kidding! I just installed a Five Star E50 tune on mine. WOW WOW WOW!!!! By FAR the fastest vehicle I've ever owned in my 48 years! I think I should probably start looking for replacement tires. haha
I do with my built supercharged 5.0 they keep trying but it never happens

@@dwreckbaker6382 That’s an extra $10k for no reason and money you won’t get back when selling. Might actually get less then stock as people will know you beat the piss out of it. With an Ecoboost you just return the tune to stock.

The simple VTA mod sounds just as good if not louder. Hard to tell from video how loud it actually is but I just vented the bypass and it’s loud as fuck.
Or you can just pull the hose off and then cap it and have the same thing without spending 300$ and ruining a sensor. Also not having to pull the bov off and clean it every once in a while is nice.
I mean you can do it that way but that’s a little cheesy in my opinion, spend the money and do it right ya know? $300 isn’t anything for a car/truck mod lol. If you’re a true car/truck person and enjoy modding them, then you don’t mind the money. My gti has easily over 6k into, our other cars have a lot too. Do it right that’s all no matter the cost or don’t mod your car/truck period
@@RatchetWrenches if it had great benifits to it then id be all for it but it doesn't. Yeah it sounds cool but its just one more thing to add to a maintenance list. Not to mention the truck was engeneered with it and i see no reason to replace it if im making 400+ to the wheels with basic performance mods. Only way id get a bov woukd be if mine broke and that probably doesn't happen often
That’s exactly what I did with mine. The pshhhh isn’t as loud or as long as it would be with an after market BOV, but it still sounds good!

Title was a little misleading. It claimed louder turbo noises which can really only be acheived with aftermarket downpipes, exhaust, and intake. This just made the "blow off" louder. Definately healthier for the truck but if your interested just in the noise there are much easier ways of doing it that dont cost almost $400 dollars. Just research "vta mod". But all in all excellent video and i like how you demonstrated that it can be done in your home garage with basic tools. Keep up the good work!
Yeah I can see your point of view and yes a downpipe and CIA will make turbo noise, which we will be doing soon. But appreciate the feedback and stayed tuned for more!

Quick question. Does your truck have navigation with the sync 3? I have a 17 stx with sync 3 and when I pull up my nav on android it doesnt look like that.

It sounds good but I really want to know if it helps increase HP, torque, or just helps the motor/turbo breath a little better. That is the ONLY thing this video is missing. Great job.
It’s not really a performance upgrade unfortunately, there’s a bunch of discussions stating it helps the turbo and others saying it doesn’t. It’s really just for sound honestly

Hmm that’s a good question it might but it’s definitely similar I can’t imagine it being too different! I’m not sure tho I’m sorry I wish we knew more about this to help you out

Thanks and honestly I’m not sure some ppl say it won’t and some people say it will. But ultimately it really is up to the dealer to determine if they want to void it if something goes wrong and they see this part. I’ve worked at some dealers where mods should void warranties but we didn’t so it truly depends

@Ratchet Wrenches Do you only hear the turbo more when you let off the gas or you hear it more also when accelerating ? (kind of like a big diesel pickup truck)
So for this sound of the blow off valve you’ll heard that when you let off the gas because the pressure is being released. We do have downpipes installed and they create more turbo noise which when you are accelerating you can hear them spool up. Nothing like the turbo Diesels tho

He keeps mentioning that the TurboSmart BOV will give you a cooler sound. There’s more to it than than.
For one, it’s great at relieving turbo pressures built up but don’t get used when the throttle body butterfly closes, and the pressure has nowhere to go except back to the turbine impellers. Potentially making them spin in the opposite direction.
The other is that it relieves unwanted byproducts from being introduced into the intake manifold. Hence the oil/ water/ fuel covered MAP sensors, or the oil/ water/ fuel covered TB butterfly valve, or the nasty crap in the bottom of your intercooler.
These two other features of the BOV are far more important than the noise it makes.
Did you trim that top hose to fit tighter or clean it up, seemed to long?
We did do some trimming if the hose yeah!

@@RatchetWrenches Ratchet, I see nothing wrong with the EcoBoost engines. Eight out of ten certified Ford mechanics prefer working on the 5.0 . The 5.0 has more hp and is close to the same on gas mileage. Hopefully it will last longer without having to run at a higher rpm. Just took a trip and got 18.6 mpg, not bad! Great video however. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Yes it does have slightly more horse power, but one thing to note would be the 3.5L Ecoboost comes stock with 70+ TQ. With our Ecoboost we were able to make over 500+ HP with just 2 supporting mods and a tune which is extremely impressive. The twin turbo system is great in that truck. Both trucks are amazing thanks again!
Did you use the factory exhaust and if so is it still quite? I like quiet performance.
In this video we had stock exhaust. We now have SPDPerformance turbo adapters along with high flow catttd downpipes. It’s definitely quiet yet you can hear the turbos spool a lot more! With the tune we have this truck pushes over 500hp to the wheels. So I’d say it’s quiet performance

I had a 2015 f150 platinum 3.5, traded it on a 2016 denali duramax and wish I would have kept the ford. Both trucks are awesome but that f150 sure was quick and rode like a dream !

No it won't so you're good. There are laws in place now that protect consumers buying aftermarket products for vehicles still under warranty, so unless an add-on was the direct reason your truck failed they cannot blame you for adding it on
