    Any company that does custom tuning will tell you to absolutely NOT TO RUN JB4 on top of the tune…as a custom tuner I have no way to guarantee that piggy back device will have no adverse effect on my calibration. If people were to take a basic tuning class they would understand there is no reason for a JB4 if you are runnning a custom tune

    • @8020Media
      @8020Media  Рік тому +3

      I have no guarantee your custom flash tune isn't going to happily run lean all day long without triggering any safety. Or that it won't keep pouring on more and more boost even after major timing pulls. But in all seriousness, the JB4 is highly proven in the BMW world and there isn't any reason it can't be very safely and effectively stacked with custom back-end flash tuning. There's a reason so many record holding BMW's use a JB4 + custom BEF. Either that or you switch to a standalone ECU like Syvecs.

    I’d like to know what intercooler you’d recommend.
    Right now I have the Livernois Tune with upgraded Spark Plugs, 3 bar map sensor and Thermostat. Custom Exhaust with a 3rd Cat delete. X-pipe straight piped to black chrome tips. K&N cold air intake. Blow off valves to atmosphere with

    I do want to point out that with the jb4 the stock pcm is a huge sandbag on performance. I’m currently running a fbo 2.7 eco set up on e50 and the jb4 is great but anytime I lay down the power on a race map, the stock pcm will throw the truck into limp mode. What I’m getting at is the jb4 is great for mild builds but if you’re looking for something serious you need to flash then run a jb4 on top.

    • @8020Media
      @8020Media  Рік тому +1

      Very good point. The JB4 is designed for a milder build unless you're planning to run a back-end flash with the JB4. That's exactly what we do on a few of our twin turbo BMW's. The JB4 was a great starting point but as we began building them out it was time for flash tunes. Now the JB4's control the secondary fueling system, act as a more accurate boost controller, have a few additional safety nets built in, along with some other handy features and benefits. Ultimately, we're big fans of the JB4 since it's a good starting point for mild builds and if you want to take things to the next level the JB4 is still a good tuner (with a proper back-end flash) that makes certain things simpler.

      @@8020Media I’m a huge fan of the jb4 don’t get me wrong. Do you guys have a favorite flash tune system that you guys run the jb4 as a controller on? Once my warrantee is up I’ll be flashing.

First thing i bought this truck at a action a year ago and it has been great but when i got the truck there was a tube off im guessing from the intercooler to a spot it reticulates id like to put it back on or block the intake side off but i cant find where it goes second i pull a trailer almost everyday whats the best bang for the buck tunner for that and how much woyld a cat back exhaust help with a tune id like to see 100 gain on both sides just not sure the best way to get there

    so any tuning for me is out

    How often does the intercooler get heat soak in day to day driving? Let's say southern climate. So in the 90s all summer?

    • @8020Media
      @8020Media  Рік тому +1

      Paul - Without knowing what your day-to-day commutes look like, it is difficult to provide an exact frequency of how often an intercooler will experience heat soak, but it is more likely to occur in the south. But, it may be more common in stop-and-go traffic, where there is limited airflow over the intercooler. Additionally, more aggressive driving that generates higher levels of heat can increase the likelihood of heat soak. However, under normal driving conditions and with a well-maintained cooling system, heat soak should not be a persistent issue.

    Here is the ticket , FR turbo headers ,kooks DOWN PIPES ,gen2 Garrett stage 2’s ,Wagner ATA ici..intank fuel pump, COLD AIR ,custom tune..that 580-590wtq and 480-525WHP.. NOW YOU CAN ALSO ADD SOME OTHER PARTS LIKE COLD, HOT PIPES, CAT BACK, THOTTLE BODY, METH, BUT THOSE AREMT AS IMPORTANT.. I ALSO. USE A OPEN INTAKE FILTER SAVES USING TWO FILTERS ,A SINGLE HUGE FILTER WORKS FINE..

    JB4 is a terrible tune solution lol. If you like an inconsistent tune made by some BMW tuners for non-bmw cars, go for it.

      @8020Media  Рік тому +1

      Out of curiosity, what is your personal experience with the JB4 and on what vehicle(s)? Much of it comes down to personal preference and goals. A custom flash tune may be the better route for some, and the JB4 the better route for others. Ultimately, the JB4 has its limits and those looking to run upgraded turbos, heavy E85 blends, etc. should avoid the JB4. It's a great, reliable, and consistent tune for those who just want a simple plug-and-play solution with basic bolt-on upgrades.

      Correct, with upgraded fuel pumps and injectors, you can run E85 with zero issues.

    I think if you got a vehicle you love, its just a waste of money to modify it. If you bought somthing you dont really like, your chasing the dragon trying to make it into somthing you love. personally, my 2018 pearl white lariat on 20's, i could just sit and stare at it all night long, leveling kits a waste, adding new rims and lift kits is a waste. i just love the panoramic roof, power rear window, cooling seats, its perfect as is.. dont finance somthing your not in love with to begin with

      T - To each their own. We love modifying our vehicles because it lets us love them even more than we already do. However, not everyone chases that, and that's okay!

    Build? Just get an e50 tune

    • @8020Media
      @8020Media  Рік тому

      Brandon - The building aspect is also to make a more reliable 500whp build. Not just throwing a tune on it and calling it a day. This is certainly a possibility, however, not as reliable as it could be!

      Shawn - We threw that in as an ADDED bonus that an intake CAN add to your engine. As we said after, it can add anywhere from 3-10whp and increase the amount of airflow to the engine. Don't know if you got that far to hear that or not.

      Im a v8 over v6 fan anyday will say i hate the sound but im 125k miles on my 550-580whp ecoturd and never done anything but change the oil. 5.0 sounds better yes but i eat 6.2 raptors and 5.0s easily unless they spent 10k in upgrades to just keep up
