Did you see anything that you would have bought today? How are your thrift store prices near you?
I need to venture out of Lewisville to find any thing decent ! I love everything you do.
Why won't this play
Thank you so much!!
OMG I never see a DIY furniture make over channel who is from my part of the world in Dallas TX! Thank you!!! I am in Rowlett TX which is in Dallas county! The Garland Habitat for Humanity store sucks for furniture so I just learned from you that some of their locations actually have more furniture than others! Thank you for this tour of local thrift store options!
The Habitat For Humanity Restore in McKinney is pretty good for furniture selection. And The Goodwill in McKinney usually has some furniture too.
I there’s another thrift store in McKinney that’s right on the frontage road for the 75, on the Eastside, not too far from the Goodwill, which had TONS of clothes. And the prices throughout the store were pretty good.
Ohhh!!Wish you said there names ( of all the stores. Or did i just blip it out were they all habitat?
McKinney restore had the best
Great to see my hometown so well represented! I have donated furniture to Habitat and kept looking to see if my items made the video.
That is awesome! Thanks for watching.
Me too.
I'm in Collin County, so I loved seeing this! I KNOW how crazy spread out the DFW area is (and the traffic is NUTS)! I have been very angry with the thrift stores in my area of late, as they are obviously taking full advantage of the savviness of today's thrift store shoppers, and are boosting the prices accordingly. I now will not shop at any thrift store, unless it's one of their "half off" days so the prices can be knocked down a bit. Ridculous. And these are supposedly NON-PROFIT stores!
I feel you! It’s crazy around here! Seriously very hard to find a deal!
At one of the local stores with OUTRAGEOUS prices and that now looks like a dump, one of the employees told me the managers get GREAT bonuses depending on how much money they make. I would not say any of them are non-profit, but all the profits go to charity AFTER they pay off their management. THEN the leftover money goes for charity...we hope.
Good thrifting! I love this - I'm shooting a restoration video right now. A Mid-century bar cabinet. Stay tuned 🙂
@midcenturyflipper Thank you! We appreciate you watching!
One of the guys that work at our restore said that when they have one of their half-off sales that usually end up marking the price double so they're still getting a lot of money. People are pretty much not saving any money
It’s a thrift store anything you buy is saving money🤷🏼♀️
That is illegal go ask
@@terricavoli7997 while this is true, thrift stores in general are supposed to be the end of the line, with bottom of the barrel prices for items before they go to the landfill. Literally, the last stop. Increasing prices just so they can make more money goes against the grain of what a thrift store is supposed to be. Not only that, ALL of the major thrift stores (Salv. Army, Goodwill, Restore, St Vincent de Paul) are CHRISTIAN based as a way of offering charity to the public. Therefore, the many people who rely on thrift stores to furnish their homes are also being priced out of items for themselves and their families. And oh BTW, there was a kerfuffle a couple years ago when it got out that the CEO of Goodwill was making _several hundred thousand dollars_ a year...as the head a _non-profit_ entity. So just "saving anything" at a thrift store is only what you see on the surface.
@@jekku4688 I always thought Goodwill was a profit making organization. Their claim to fame was hiring the unemployable and not a charity at all.
If you can plan a road trip to New England, people put antique furniture pieces out for the trash all of the time. Or, super cheap. Bring a box truck
Those rug deals are amazing!! 💕😍💕 and the chandelier 🤯
I was beyond thrilled!
Loved the thrifting trip. Thanks for taking us along.
In Ranger texas we have a hole in the wall thrift store called the quarter store and almost everything there sells for a quarter
I have a small accent table I would love to see you flip something like that
I wish you listed the thrift stores! What is the name of the store in Dallas that had lots of vintage clothes?
I’m not sure. I googled habit stores in Dallas and 3 popped up in the same spot so I just circled around there.
I loved the black iron bed frame!
I sure enjoyed this Thrift Day!! Thanks for the fun....
Glad you enjoyed!
You scored on your thrifting adventure. Great prices for the rugs.
I think so too! They were a win for sure!! Thank you for watching.
Genesis thrift store
Love pickers! I don't live to far from there
Which Habitat for Humanity did you go to? Was that cute lil town Terrell? I couldn’t tell - not wearing my glasses lol
I was thinking the same thing. It definitely might be Terrell, Texas.
Those prices are insane! The greedy people pricing that furniture must be insane too.
I know! I was surprised at some of the prices, too.
Where is the store located at 7:00 mark? I live between Dallas and Fort Worth in Colleyville. Love thrifting!
Will you list the last thrift store ; I think I know it , I’ve been there, and cought great deals, ; but I’ll understand if you want to keep it as a business/confidentiality;
the habitat restores around us were CRAZY EXPENSIVE too, we live in Ohio and during covid mandates my husband has copd and asthma so wasn;t mandated to wear a mask, we were told by a very rude employee my husband needed to leave the store...needless to say we will not be back there ever!
I can’t believe some of the prices at the Restore! I’m in Tennessee and thought ours was high but not nearly as high as Dallas! It makes you wonder if people really pay that much for furniture that needs updating or repairs. 🧐
I think the same thing! Like WHO is buying these for that much $$ ?? Baffles me!
I agree! But what happens to all the unsold, over-priced furniture?
Love your shirt.. saw Styx with Aerosmith here in California
Where is the 2nd Restore located? I'm in the DFW area myself. Thanks!
Thank you for telling us where to go.
Am I missing something? Am in the DFW area, could you please list the name/location of the stores? Many thks, enjoy your vids!!
Easiest way is to google habitat for humanity in Dallas. There are 2 of them with about 3 other thrift stores in between. Drove to those and then the pickers paradise in garland
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture thks SO much! duh on my part;)
Please please - know this is a yr old video but please share name of your last place you visited 🙏🙏 what a goldmine e as you said👍 Also where you found the rugs🙏. I’m in far north Dallas 😉
Google ReStore in Dallas there’s 2 and they both have rugs. The last was in McKinney
Thanks for the adventure. Loved the chandeliers. Great finds.
@donnamullins2089 Thank you! We appreciate you watching!
Please share the addresses for these Dallas stores-I enjoyed your video, but which are the best stores? Thank you!
Loved thrifting with you. Thanks for the tips and tricks. Good finds.
You are so welcome!
I’m need to search harder for habitat for humanity locations. I have never found anything I liked at the Garland one on I-30.
I love Pickers Paradise.
There is a small antique mall that sometimes has great deals. It’s hear the habitat location at Skillman and Abram’s.
Oh I’ll have to find that one. I like the habitat in Sherman and McKinney but McKinney is pretty pricy
Hi. I live in Dallas too. Where did you thrift at?? Just curious. I’m always looking for new spots. 😊
I just googled habitat for humanity in dallas and visited everything near those locations.
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture which habitat had the Wayfair items? Thanks
The Restores here in Chicago are priced the same way. Like that furniture is NEW and not donated!!! I think they and Goodwill and Salvation army have forgotten their mission!!
It's crazy how high they are priced!
100% They have definitely forgotten their mission. For people really struggling to feed and cloth their family, and make a house a home, thrifting is the only way, and when the prices are like this, what are we supposed to do? It’s crazy!
Hi, great finds 💗 also what was the name of the thrift store you visited with address showing 3419? I would love to try and find it next time I'm out thrifting.
I was hoping she would give us the addresses.
@@mjz4043 she’s not gonna share any addresses it’s called gatekeeping and the way that you stop. The gatekeeper is simply stop liking commenting or even watching their videos.
She is not going to share the names of the or the locations I should say restore in Dallas is all over the place. She’s not going to share. She’s a gate keeper just stop watching and commenting on her videos. Shut her down if she wants to dangle a carrot in front of the nose, but not sure then just stop.
@c.z.7619 lol
May I ask if all the stores except the last one were Habitat for Humanity? I would love to visit a friend in Dallas and take her shopping. TY!!
I just now found your channel. I enjoyed it, but wondered why you didn't share where the stores are.
It’s called gatekeeping hon and she’s going to continue to do it if you’re smart you’ll stop watching the videos just completely stop. Don’t post don’t ask. That’s how she gets engagement. That’s how she gets money. I can tell you one of the stores. I think it was the first one she went to is called Genesis is in downtown Dallas. It’s very expensive how high and stuff.
Thrift stores are high in my area. Restores are very expensive to.
Very true! It’s so strange!
I live in Amarillo, and the ReStore here is priced ridiculously high as well. Like, you people get this stuff for FREE! C'mon!
I agree 100%! It actually makes it hard for me to get rid of my own clutter, because I hate thinking I’m going to GIVE this thing to Goodwill, and they’re going to turn around and charge some poor lady $$$ for it.
It’s frustrating. I’m not on Facebook, but if I were, I’d much rather just give my stuff to people directly through that free cycle thing.
The prices for used furniture at habitat for Humanity is crazy! I don't buy any of it because I can't flip it in my area at those prices.
Yep! Just about the same here! Always makes me wonder whos buying it!
Even the thrift stores prices have gone up…at least in my area. I’m finding better pieces on FB marketplace. Thanks for taking us along!!
You are so welcome! Glad you enjoyed it.
You xcored! Aqsome rugs & ligghts!
Rugs and lights for the win. My amazing husband installed them right away for me and they look fabulous!!
Love S room!
Good Saturday Morning!
Hello! So happy to have you!
When and if my habitat store has furniture for sale it is priced like these you showed us.
We had a few Habitat Restores in our area but they all closed because they couldn’t compete with Facebook Marketplace. Not sure why donated items that they didn’t pay for couldn’t compete with marketplace but oh well…
Can someone tell me what are the name of these stores please ? I really need some stuff for my new apartment
Those were crazy prices and not already redone. They weren't that back at the one I went 4years ago.
Genesis has nice clothes.
Which Habitat for Humanity Store did you visit starting at 7:02 in your video. I did not hear you mention the name. Thank you
I think this one was the one in Mckinney
It looks like you were in Frisco Is that where you live? I live in Frisco too.
Where exactly is the really great Restore?
There’s a good one on Couch Street in McKinney.
I have yet to find any thing at a Habitat Re-Store store
The prices are much higher than the stores.
In some cases yes, but sometimes you can find a really good deal. :)
I always check the goodwill and other thrift stores, but the furniture is always overpriced if the broken down things.
Why didn't you share the name of the third thrift store?
ReStores aren't really thrift stores. They align more with consignment level. Go to Irving bc there's a lot of decently priced ones there. Also Texas Thrift, There's also a great one by Kroger in Dallas Thrift City.
Omg!!! Thank you for this!! It seems I can rarely find anything around me!
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture
I know them all, lol. There are a ton more but as with everything...prices go up so not sure how they each fair now. It's been awhile since I've been thrifting but it was my favorite thing to do. Also, have you gone to the Canton flea market for 1st Monday? Cheaper stuff is in the back section with antiques. I've got the 411 for DFW 😂👍
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture
I may have gotten the names with locations mixed but Google knows what I mean, lol.
I think the thrift stores are going up on prices because of the furniture flippers. So they want to make a profit as well, but it doesn’t make sense since furniture flippers are not going to pay those high prices and not make a profit.
I know this is a year old, but commenting anyway. Why didn’t you link to any of these locations?? For someone who lives in the area that would have been very helpful.
Google Dallas thrift stores, start at the ReStore and there are about 5 right around it. I went to about 7 stops that day, not all were worth filming but they’re all close to each other. Last restore is in McKinney.
Salvation army used to have such good furniture not so much the last time I was there.
yea same for me. I find most of mine don't even have furniture.
Possibly because they don't take anything that isn't perfect. I had a beautiful, huge, custom made mantel I wanted to donate and it needed refinishing and they wanted no part of it.
O lord even here in Austin the prices are so high😢
I know! It’s crazy
I live in Terrell, east of Dallas. What is some of you favorite resale shops?
I wish I had a favorite! I like the ones near Mabank but they have been hit/miss lately as well
That was really fun! I loved seeing all your scores from our area! Looked like a blast!
We had a really fun day! Thanks for watching!
Where is “out east”?
I love to go out to gun barrel city
Please pin the addresses. Which one is 9:12?
That buffet should have been $50 instead of $150.
What is the store and where is it located in the DFW area?
I think this is the Mckinney one
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture Thanks so much. I enjoy your site. Your descriptions are easy to follow.
I just stopped at a Thrift Store in Frisco yesterday which had the WORST prices I have ever seen!!!
I’m a thrifter. I thrift a lot. Almost everything we have has been thrifted. I KNOW proper thrift prices.
This place is across the street from the Goodwill. I warn everyone, Don’t go there!
It was crazy! Like, an old, heavily used, low quality, wooden cutting board, $25! LOL! You could drive 2 miles away to IKEA and get a better, brand new one for less than that. Nasty, stinky, worn out, UGGS, $30! A small, unframed, really bad, Bob Ross wanna be sailboat painting, $80.
The place is only good for one thing, LAUGHS!
But praise God, the Goodwill across the street was a win. I got 4 very nice, large (retail priced $20) candles for $4 each, and one $30 candle for $6, all a matched set, and very pretty. Literally $110 worth of candles for $22.
Why won't this play????
It's premiering Jan 21st at 9:30 CST
@@kimholloway1169 thank you
The store in Dallas is Genesis. It is a non profit that supports families in need. It’s worth checking out.
You should be ashamed of yourself for posting a Thrifting video and especially with the restore locations not giving out like even the city you could say this restore was in you know on Northwest Highway and blah blah blah. Gatekeeping is not cute and I only commented on this video to say you should be ashamed of yourself for posting a video like this and gatekeeping just don’t post the video just don’t post stop.
dear Lord. Look at the map posted at the beginning. You'll be just fine
The price of these antiques is even very low. What do you expect? A gift? Unbelievable.
Wow!! Umm apparently you don’t watch other flea market videos. Pieces are around $30-$90 each…not $500. Antiques are 100+ yrs old by definition. These are clearly not antiques that I’m looking at.
The store in Dallas is Genesis. It is a non profit that supports families in need. It’s worth checking out.
Thank you I would have never remembered that name!
