iPhone mirroring on Mac is going to be a savior for those of us in college with strict professors 😂
For what though? You can already text and do most things your phone is capable of on a MacBook.
Sounds like a Samsung feature. Lol 😂😂
You can run certain iPhone / iPad apps already on MacOS (without the mirroring needed). Now you can run almost any iOS app!
@@noelsaw ipad apps don't support scrolling via the touchpad though so luckily it should work now :)
There's strict professors?
Calculator on iPad. Groundbreaking.
It’s a cool one though
They do listen then😂
@@Isengardtom It is admittedly
Apple didn’t say it was groundbreaking, but if you think so, then okay. To each their own.
Apple called it innovative 😂
Can’t wait for them to say that math notes and calculator works only on M4 iPad Pros 🤣🤣
at this point i wouldnt be shocked anymore....
don’t worry it’s gonna work on everything i was scared too (but apparently it even works on the phones too)
Everything they announced works on all M1 iPads. Massive and hilarious L for all the fools who bought an M4 thinking “Apple is going to make it worth it at WWDC this year, you’ll see!”
Fortunately it works on all supported iPads, I made that comment as a joke over a year ago
@@sigiligus Don't laugh at them, I bought an iPad Air 4th gen back in the day thinking the same
It sucks that my iPhone 13 won't get the new features, but iPhone 15 not getting it is even more ridiculous.
They are really dropping support for a phone that came out 9 months ago… as a 15 user, I feel scammed lol
@@AlexandreFortesYT It’s because the 15 is lowkey the 14 Pro with a cheaper body. It’s running a 2022 chipset (A16) rather than the A17 Pro chip. It makes sense why it’s not available for the 15.
iPad OS 18 recap: At Apple, we believe that the iPad should never surpass the Mac in capabilities. Therefore, we intentionally limit the software and features. We’ve essentially taken everything we added to the iPhone and applied it to the iPad. Additionally, after 15 years of meticulous work, we’ve crafted a calculator app that simply works. And now, you can remotely control an iPad from FaceTime. Thats all we have for iPad OS 18.
Because everybody blind, Apple doesn't need to be that blind too.. do you know the display also generating heat? And the biggest difference between Mac and iPad is that the display and the SoC are far away or stacked on each other.. alias heating 2 separete surface or heating the same surface.. and that makes a huge difference in performance.. so even if you get a MacOS on iPad, you can't use it as a Mac, because of the design it's throttling way more like a Mac (when the whole chip use about average 15W but the dispslay alone use 4W than the chip only can use 11W, because the 4W hearing from your display is permanent, so to maintain the same 15W heating the chip only can use 11W, and that is significant difference in usage if your device is throttling in 80% or just in 20%)
I don’t understand why they aren’t supporting the 2017 iPad Pro, but they are supporting the 7th gen iPad considering it has worse specs than the iPad Pro
I agree, what is in the ipad 7th gen that makes it better than the 6th gen? and as we know the 10.5 has a better A10X chip with 4 gigs of ram
I am sure it is just to say that they support their iPads for six years from 2019 to 2025 in the case of iPad 7th gen. Just sad!
It’s just for people to upgrade.
Some years ago they dropped the 2014 Air, yet the 2014 mini was still supported and they had the same specs
I’m watching this on the iPad pro 9.7 inch 😂
It’s old. It makes sense.
2:13 Missed pun opportunity to name the feature skyMessage 🤣
iOS 18 is gonna be like how iOS 10 was on the iPhone 5 lol. Let’s just hope iOS 18 is stable
As someone on the first developer beta, it’s one of the most stable ones I’ve tried on day 1
I mean iOS 10 ran great back when I had an iPhone 5 lol
iOS 10 on the iPhone 5 was fine though. Better than iOS 9
Apple is leaving everyone who doesn’t have a 15 pro with the janky Siri you dirty as hell for that Apple
Lmao 😂
Agreed, but I will say it’s good marketing, some people will actually upgrade just for the new AI features
@@Tropical- If by good you mean vindictive, and not caring for users, them sure.
That iPhone 16 is gone feel like a sweet upgrade from my 15 now
@@Kingcommaalex😂
You can see that ChatGPT was only mentioned towards the end of the Apple Intelligence presentation along with mentioning of other LLMs as a potential add-on feature. Which makes me think that Apple Intelligence alone has nothing to do with OpenAI, and that it's Apple's own Model which specifically is good at doing the things shown in the presentation with context awareness. And LLM like ChatGPT just have a bigger knowledge base in comparison, that's why they showed that when you want to generate something like a menu recipe, Siri will then relay the question to ChatGPT for this kind of info based questions. You can see that every time that happens, Siri will ask for you permission to relay to ChatGPT. The ChatGPT apps we currently have on the iPhones most likely takes no computational power at all as they simply send the requests to the OpenAI server and just display the response, where Apple Intelligence is running on device, completely different in resource requirements.
The fact that the iPad 7th Gen is getting iPad OS 18 and my iPad Pro 10.5 which has a way better chip and more Ram is not is mind boggling to me.
I am sure it is just to say that they support their iPads for six years from 2019 to 2025 in the case of iPad 7th gen. Just sad.
We have a couple 10.5’s in our house and I’m surprised they aren’t getting 18. They are still very capable devices.
the iPhone 7/7 plus with that same a10 chip long gone and stuck with ios 15.
@@maurorenard82 the ipod touch with that same a10 also came out in 2019 but got dropped in 2022 with the iPhone 7 lmao and they all had the same processor and capablities. Apple is just playing favorites atp. Either way though they had a meh run by apple standards but an amazing run compared to everything else.
@@michaelm8188 I am not saying that what they are doing is OK whatsoever. I am just trying to find a logic to something that doesn't make sense.
Apple had the “courage” to software lock a device that was released just 9 months ago.😂
Which?

@@goudendynamiethd2117 lmao crazy stuff
Classic Apple playbook. They know most users have A.S.S. (Apple Stockholm Syndrome) And will cough up sooner to reward their masters abuse
the image creations are not done through chatgpt it's on device or apple cloud, when talking to chatgpt it is explicitly stating it and asks the permission first
Remember last year when Apple said they redesigned the Neural Engine on the A17 Pro, yet nothing seemingly changed? Remember that…… I saw this coming. Probably they made the A17 Pro’s NE match the design of the M1’s.
A17 NPU is as strong as the basic M3 chip (it has the same amount of cores and manufactured with the same 3nm technology), the difference there is only the way how they measured, like the M3 18 TOPS is measured in FP16, but the A17 35 TOPS is measured with INT8. Apple changed it after X Elite started to claim that they have better AI capacity, so now they are also displaying the bigger number, so the INT not the FP numbers, but still Apple use the INT8 (64bit), meanwhile Snapdragon use the INT4 (32bit) measuring.
So the 18 TOPS (FP16) is about the same performance like the 35 TOPS (INT8) and 55 TOPS (INT4, this INT4 is where Snapdragon X Elite have 45 TOPS..), and this is the M3 and A17 performance, just not in the same metrics (like 100mph is about 160km/h, the same speed, but measured with different metric, so the numbers are not directly compareable)
The most important feature is reminders/calendar integration. Craig mention it!
It’s crazy my phone from November 2023 not being able to run the next iOS feature
Yeah, hardware requirements are crazy now. Super crazy.
@@Brianmatthewward they’ve always had that to some extent. However, this is probably the biggest feature that won’t be on older iPhones.
How did the iPhone 15 not get it lol? Why only Pro? Very weird.
@@goudendynamiethd2117bc only the 15 pros use the a17 pro chip
I wish they could use iCloud servers to do the processing.
I'm not ambitious, so a Calculator app for iPad is just what I wanted. Looking forward to that and Sequoia for my M1 Mac Mini. I don't use Siri at all, but making it an AI app sounds good for people who are into that.
Imagine a WWDC like this two years ago? That would alien level. Open AI really pushed all tech companies out of their comfort zone.
iPad still gimped by the OS. What a shame.
i remember people defending M4 iPad pro saying WWDC will fix iPad OS .just wait for it
Hasn’t been gimped since iPadOS 13. I use my M4 13” for school, personal, and work related activities on the daily. Just say you don’t know how to use an iPad.
iPad Pro once again is still the most versatile device in the world, couldn’t be happier with my M4 13”.
Once again Apple does the absolute bare minimum with iPad.

I’ve been waiting on your video all day
There's such a gulf between the types of customers Apple are targeting with the iPad Pros and the functionality they care about. It's especially bizarre because it's a problem Apple brought upon themselves. They could've kept selling $300-600 iPads targeted at general consumers for light/mid computing tasks and nailed the fundamentals and people would be happy. No one forced them to release these hyper powerful and expensive models.
Not really, I just spent $2300 on the new 13” Pro with 1TB and Magic Keyboard with Apple Pencil Pro. I’m a hobbyist digital artist that does occasional photo and video editing. It’s probably the best device I’ve ever owned, the Ultra Retina XDR display is just the cherry on top.
They hit a wall with Apple Watch
What’s really crazy is the fact that you can buy an M4 iPad Pro that can’t do the screen mirroring feature because software.
I’ve been waiting for your video 😂
I actually love that they called it Apple Intelligence. If they hadn’t I would have been concerned.
Really happy I sprung for the 15PM and the Air 5 when I did.
I watched your stream, and I must admit, what I enjoyed the most about this apple keynote is your live thought/filming/ editing process. You make it look so easy. So thank you for that, I’m sure I’m not the only one who appreciates you sharing this completely unique perspective. Cheers !
iPhone mirroring, if it works as displayed, will be HUGE for me. As for AI, they are definitely restricting user access. There are no server in the world that can handle 1.5B queries per day, as they said Siri receives today! If those queries get more complex and useful, it means more processing power AND more usage.
Since these model are getting lighter by the day AND these companies are building data centers like there is no tomorrow, I suppose in a couple of years they will relax these restrictions (or people will just buy newer iPhones anyway).
The iPhone screen mirroring is essentially Samsung DeX flipped on its back and I’m all for it!
I'm so happy they decided to finally remove all of the artificial limitations on iPadOS.
I had no idea that it only works with 2 iPhones. That is good info no one else is talking about
Shouldn't they have done it gradually? Like, it's nice XR is still supported, but it makes no sense 14 Pro/Max or non Pro 15 will end up with same iOS 18 when it comes to (not having) AI features
They aren’t powerful enough to support it on device
@@Kingcommaalex yeah, I get it. Still think it's a way to push customers to upgrade.
Plot twist: Apple watched your skit and that's how they got the idea to call it Apple Intelligence 😆
Once again they just mad the new iPad Pro m4 users look like 🤡 no quality of life updates for files & stage manager at all, not even trying. Glad i'm not touching that device lmao
Im more amazed that iphone mirroring allows better instagram optimization on mac before ig on ipad 😂😂
2018 and 2019 MacBook Air are the only Macs getting cut off at Sonoma. Probably the last year macOS supports Intel Macs, then we'll see some nice speed gains with all those Intel binaries gone in macOS 16.
Still no meaningful update to ipad multitasking or the ability to run macos files (not mac os itself) on the iPad. I can't run macos apps even though they share the same chip architecture. (Yes If they wanted to they could make an iPad version of Rosetta to run mac apps on ipad
We talking a 3 trillion dollar company who has the ability to run windows an x86 process on an arm architecture).
Drew called “Apple
Vision” and now “Apple Intelligence”.
Imma need those lottery numbers Drew.
I wonder if we’ll get a 3rd gen HomePod later in the fall with the new Siri. If anything the lack of on device Siri on the full size HomePod when an Apple Watch gets it was a real disappointment so maybe they go all the way and bring the new Siri with a revision.
I was just fighting with Siri on my HomePod mini around an hour ago. I hope all the siri improvements do come to HomePods as well.
Apple WWDC 2050 “with Apple intelligence you can now travel back in time to your most favorite moments with loved ones”
Drew WWDC 2050 “Lackluster keynote this year nothing really exciting Siri got a little bit better.

Would like a deeper dive into all the iOS 18 features, as much as you can find out and more about Apple intelligence and what exactly it does and how it will help in day to day 👍🏼
I hate that they aren’t bringing so much to the base 15 but it definitely is smart. Gonna make me want the 16 I’m sure
Yeah I was super underwhelmed, for another year… but I will still keep buying iPhones 🥳. I was also secretly hoping for a new iPad mini release, no relief there 😢
I’m curious whether the iPhone mirroring works while using continutity camera.
That would be also great for you guys’ podcast.
Oh... one more thing - I like your sarcasm.
"A is for Apple" is wild 😂
I'm still wearing an Apple Watch Series 4. Sounds like I at least won't be missing out on much. Still planning on keeping it until it straight up dies or it's so far behind software-wise that my phone won't even connect to it anymore.
This WWDC had some really great new quality of life updates!
Dear God, why won’t they fix the freaking files app on iPad?!!!
I liked it all but it still feels at times they drop the ball with ipados at times like iphone mirroring could be on ipad or even have ipad do mac mirroring
When they said new Apple Photos I was so excited thinking it will have photos grouping.
I’m still on the Apple Watch SE 1st Gen. They better come out with an SE 3rd Gen this fall.
I need an update to my series 4 watch now. But I’d like to wait for series 10 to come out first.
One of the cool features on Vision Pro is the ability to turn a 2D photo into a 3D photo. I tried it on several photos and it’s quite impressive. I do agree that the Journal app should be on the iPad and Mac. It’s a pain to type on the iPhone.
TIM OWES YOU MONEY! He stole your Apple Intelligence idea!
iPadOS is huuuuge letdown lol. Apple is messing with us now
I think on-device AI might be really rough on battery life, which could be a reason Apple restricted it to iPhone 15 pro.
On the intelligence website there’s a little disclaimer at the bottom of the page noting more platforms will be coming in the future
On the iPad with Calculator, will the calculator have to be fullscreen the whole time you use it?
the i in iPhone is “intelligence”
its “internet”
I am pleased to have exchanged my M1 iPad for the Tab S8 Ultra. The only notable improvement in iPadOS is the addition of a calculator.
🤢. You do you though god bless
Wtf I just want it to stop fucking up my text messages while voice texting in Apple car play.
GOOD MORNING-NINE!!! 🤣
When they talked about Apple Intelligence I don't think they ever mentioned Vision Pro.
We are currently using iPhone 11's and watch 5's.
Another great video. I love all of your content. Unique style, clearly honest, entertaining, and just great! Thank you.
Glad you enjoy it!
@@TailosiveTech I know you had to dig deep to find this one.
Before the samsung fans come 😂
Samsung Knight through and through but I was pretty impressed😎
I hope they add an AI ability to lip read so I can interact with Siri, make notes, write emails etc in quiet areas or places where I don't want people to hear what I'm saying.
Im still using my AW S5 and iPhone 8... I guess they are forcing me to update... I will get a new iPhone...but no more AW I will Get a real sportwatch a Garmin Forerunner 955 or a Fenix 7 Pro... unless they create an AW with blood pressure sensor clinical grade.
iPhone mirroring is SOOOOO cool!
This is definitely just the iOS: About time release. Glad I have the 15 pro I’m excited to try the AI features
The calculator app on iPad is pretty cool
10:37
People are forgetting that apple’s AI will be free to use forever as long as your device is supported unlike Samsung’s. Galaxy AI works on more devices but you guys forget that you only get a 1 or 2 year subscription to be able to use the Galaxy AI features
So what are your thoughts on upgrading to iPad Pro M4 with the iPadOS vs pre M1 iPad Pro
If you really care about the AI features just go with an M1 iPad. M4 iPad is still overkill and has no software advantages
How about mirroring Mac on the iPad!?!
The reason why AI might not work on iPhones with less than 8GB of RAM. From my understanding the iPhone 15 only has 6GB while even older iPads with the M1 chips have at least 8GB of RAM.
I find the WWDC this year was good. I find it great with AI being iPhone 15 and newer. I still have my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I might even upgrade this year or next. Maybe i16 or i17.
nice big changes
Despiste Apple AI not making it on the 14 pro, I downloaded the iOS 18 beta. Use to have 16.6 jailbroken but had to update because of my usb-c AirPods Pro to 17.4.
Despite the customization being not as good as jailbreaking it, it’s really close. We’ll see how battery performs since with 84% health it gets 5 hours
Its so weird because they said for things even out of compute for m series chips they have their own secure servers in a “cloud” so why cant everyone just use that aswell?
overall this was a really good set of updates, the ios and ipad os updates have me really excited to update in the fall, and the mac update is making me regret getting a windows laptop a bit more, but as an apple watch se 1 user, I really think we got done dirty with this. The watch came out in 2020 and was sold all the way until late 2022 when the se 2 came out (that's when i got it), so basically if you got the watch in 2022 you really only get 2 years of updates, which is absolutely abysmal for apple, that is almost as bad as the first gen ipad or ipod touch 7. Not to mention the update itself is barely adding anything, it makes no sense how a device from 2020 (i suppose 2019 because the se uses the s5 internals but still) can't run this minor update. Will I even be able to use this watch anymore once I update my iphone to ios 18? who knows, i dont think i ever had to deal with an apple product losing support since the first gen ipad lol, i guess that's what i get as a trade off for having the one and only iphone that supports the ai features 😂
Actually, most AI features don’t really have anything to do with ChatGPT directly. For example, the images that they showed in things like iMessage and the image playground are created on device by on device diffusion models, and Siri’s better contextual understanding is due to on device AI and Apple’s owned server models. GPT-4O will only be used in very specific cases, when you want a more in-depth explanation for example, and you will know when that is because Siri will ask for permission to send your query to chatGPT.
A17 Pro has double TFLOPS of A16 Bionic. Thats the reason.
I was hoping that I could be able to use it on my iPhone 14 Pro but I guess my soon to be 4 year old Mac will do I guess.
It’s crazy to have been told software support for a 13 pro max would get at 6 years of support will not get many of the new features. I will not upgrade do to the physical SIM card being eliminated. Currently trying to get with android and get more familiar. I like making videos for ministry and iOS is perfect. However im looking for android work around. Great video
The only thing from the event I LOVE is iPhone mirroring...
I also don't care about "AI" on my iPhone 13 Mini as much as I care about its outside being green.
Here’s an interesting thing: iPad 7th gen runs an A10 processor, yet the iPad pros from 2017 also run an A10X processor. I don’t quite follow why one gets the updates and the others don’t.
If you buy an iPhone 15 pro Max and make the setup in the Apple Store …
iPhone mirroring means you can leave Your iPhone in a Box on the wall behind you as long as there is a wall integrated Charger charging it…
And do everything on your iPhone virtually from your MacBook Pro
That means you need a touchscreen Mac !
With Alogic Touchscreens you can mirror link your totally too tiny IPhone 15 ProMax screen size up to the height of a 32“ Display Which is 37cm bigger than an iPad in Portrait Mode and touch mirror link it !
I get why the 2017 iPad Pro didn’t get iPadOS 18 but am also annoyed by it. I’m watching this on my 10.5” iPad Pro and still works amazing (besides battery life). I know it does but have the neural cores but it’s so overpowered and still plenty fast for most people. I’m just annoyed it won’t keep on getting software support since apps will slowly start getting worse on it.
IPhone mirroring is really nice. No WhatsApp web anymore, no instagram on safari in the browser (that never works). I’m curious if you can also use app functions that require Face ID but you can maybe use the Touch ID from the Mac ?
One small note iPhone mirroring has there in Android since 5 years microsoft got this and later most android oem offers this and recently in 2023 motorollr also supports this now
Sad they didn’t elaborate on the hiking mode for maps. Should be cool for backpackers.
Andrew Tsai figured it out. Apple got AVX2 working on the Mac as part of Game Toolkit 2.0. That's the remainder of the Windows-only game catalog. Game developers are working late tonight.
the m4 chip was finally enough to handle the intense and performance-straining app that is the apple calculator
“AI” will likely launch standard on the iPhone 16. As is tradition with passing down pro features for one year being the standard phone for the following year. It’s likely a combination of NPU and RAM the same way Windows required 16GB of ram and 45 TOPS for all the new copilot features.
Will Siri on the HomePods get updated…? Or will it still suck😭
I had the same question. I was just fighting with Siri on my HomePod mini an hour ago.
For macOS Sequoia, the fact that any Intel Macs are supported means all of them are supported. OpenCore Legacy Patcher exists.
