Great video! It reminds me of my own childhood watching The Rifleman, Lone Ranger, The Cisco Kid, Zorro, Bonanza, F Troop, with cap guns blazing in the backyard afterwards. Such great memories. I too am looking for gamers in the FL panhandle to share the hobby. Wish you the best!
To add to my Old West games I designed a "Coffin Lid" Character Stats Panel that tracking traits, wounds and ammunition, so far I have one for use with the RUTHLESS rules & the Gunfighter's Ball rules.
The smell of the old red ribbon cap guns! Can never forget that! Still have one of my ‘76 pirate guns from Disneyland. Thanks for the memories and nice inspiration for an old western train layout.
I thought of RR layouts when considering building this town... A RR layout is never "truly" done, you're always adding something, tweaking something, changing something, etc.!!! :) - Tom
I literally had no interest in the wild west whatsoever until I played Red Dead Redemption in 2010. Now I've seen a load of westerns, read novels, collected alot of stuff including a cowboy hat of my own 😂 Moral of the story, never rule anything out.
Like a ghost town! 😔 I had to unretire/go back to work to pay for Hurricane Damage. Our insurance company... is lacking. That's the nice way to put it. However. I purchased the 3DBreed Wanted Join or Die Western Miniatures set to print and some printable buildings. So... really no excuse now to not try to get started again! 😉
@@escaperealityhobbies I saw Black Scorpion minis and they look amazing on the photos. But no clue to if they're good. They have more of a realistic look and I have a thing for outlaws wearing bandanas as they rob banks!
@@packersfanforlife7903 I'm not familiar with those, I'll have to take a look. I'm excited about the 3d printed ones though... Can make as many as I need, mirror them, shrink or enlarge them! :)
Well... time to take a trip to southwest Florida! I have a collection of like 200 board games as well and I only play one or two whenever the grandkids visit. Trying to find like-minded folks but I guess I'm an anomaly at almost 60 of "being a big kid with an big imagination".... :(
A very good friend is building a two story saloon in, IIRC, 54mm for his Western gaming. I played once and it was an absolute blast. His figures and their back stories were great.
@@escaperealityhobbies, my buddy has an enormous sand table in his attic. Measures something around 15x12 feet, maybe a bit bigger. Basically the same footprint as a small bedroom. It's great because you can adjust the sand to create terrain contours. In the micro armor games, there can be many opportunities for hiding behind hills, charging down creek beds, etc. And then rearrange it for the next game. He's been an active miniatures gamer since the 70's.
Love the backstory!! Ive always found the wild west fascinating, and thanks for naming a few games in there - i may have to try and get one at some point! :)
Thanks and me too! Just want to try and make things as economical as possible... Meaning free with refuse. But I might as well employ the 3D printer as well... No shame in that! :)
The 1992 movie "Unforgiven" , with Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Gene Hackman, Richard Harris. Excellent story. This movie was very authentic in the costume, architecture and attitudes. I think you may like it.................maybe you have it already ???? Cheers
Thank you! I DO have it... ;) I can't believe that's 32 years old already. This weekend, I tried to find every western CD I have. Although, there are literally 100s of western movies on UA-cam! :)
Unfortunately no... I haven't got my home rebuilt yet! I want to build it so, so bad!!! I haven't had a lot of fun since the hurricane but I am soooo ready too! 😉
Hey Tom, Has the hurricane season been tame so far? You must be working pretty long hours. Haven't seen any new vids. Have you got the ole 3D printer mastered yet? I would like to get you to do some 3D stuff for me if you've got the time. What I would like to do is give you the address of a third party. This is a friend's business. He lets me get mail there from time to time. When you get the time to reply to me just include my given name. By the way, what about Gunsmoke? Well from the Heartland have a Blessed day. For now Over and Out.

Wow! F Troop... I haven't heard that in a long time! You up near Pensacola?
On the tabletop RPG side of things, GURPS 3e has a sick book on the Old West.
I just found a bunch of gurps stuff, but all sci-fi stuff. I'll keep an eye out for it!!!
What a fantastic video. So well edited.
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it! My wife liked the Cat Gunfighter the most... 😉
Ha ha I LOVED the gunfighter staredown with the cat!
ALWAYS look out for those feline 🐈 gunfighters!!

A coffin lid is most appropriate!!! 👍

One - its hard to believe that game is that old already! Two - the Cowboy Hat has sealed the deal!!! 😉 Thanks for watching...
It has been a year, how's it looking?

Looking at investing in Gunfighter's Ball. The fact wild animals can literally attack you within the rule cracked me up.
It really looks fun! I've bought miniatures from Knuckleduster, Dead Man's Hand and 3D Breed 3D printed miniatures.... 👍

She DID look like Frisky!!! Ya Du!

@@Chilly_Billy That's awesome! What a cool idea about the sand!!! You could use a fleece type mat over it. Hmmm...you're giving me some ideas! 💡

Gunfighters Ball has a bunch of stuff for their games. Also, 3dBreed has a great wild west line for printing...
Very cool
I had fun with this one!!!

Thank ya, thank ya! Didn't want to overdo too many of the sounds. I like the Cat Gunfighter clip the best! :)
