I was playing wild West DND in my local game shop before the virus closed the store. I was a triton barbarian because I made the character before I signed up for the campaign. And I was wondering how in encounter with Graboids would go in D&D.
My DM gave me these famous words when he approved a week of crafting hollow metal grenades...which we filled with Sulfur Powder and a few other natural chemicals and completely gassed an entire cave filled with a Moria-style army of goblins...It was glorious

My group ended up in a village that had been taken over by a group of undead led by some lower level evil outsiders. We quickly realized we didn't stand a chance of fighting them but we had to get something from one of the buildings in the village. Luckily, we had a rogue that was very good at disguises and a spellcaster with illusion spells. We each took on an evil persona and bluffed our way around until we got what we needed and then got out as fast as we could. The DM was just laughing at how badly fooled the monsters were.
@@Micras08 The problem arouses when a boss doesn't meet expectations. A party I DMed killed my one-shot boss in like three turns which left them a bit dissapointed and that's why I felt bad. But I AM completely in favour of rewarding players that come up with creative solutions. Even if they fail rolls :D It's about finding the right balance sometimes

You could call Alien all of the above, and I guess you are right that Tremors fit mostly in the monster movie category. But yeah... my 10 cents is that people categorize how they feel like. Kevin Bacon was awesome in Stir of Echoes and that freakin' scared me!

They actually did that in the movies. Tremors 4 is a prequel, set during the 1800s. Turns out that Burt Gummer is a descendant of the guy that owned the mine the town was built to support.
It's called "Tremors 4: The Legend Begins" (2004). "A prequel to Tremors (1990), this movie tells us about how the town of Perfection, Nevada became founded and how they defended it against the Graboids with the help of Burt Gummer's ancestor, Hiram." =)
James Anthony I never knew that! I saw the first one multiple times. Loved it. I knew they made a second one, (which I never saw). Had no idea they made that many of them! I’ll have to check them out.

And "Tremors: Island Fury" sounds like a Jurassic Park kind of thing where they get taken to an island to be hunted by rich people. Not sure if that one's been released on video yet, though. "Tremors the Complete Series" (TV series) is available on DVD. It aired in 2003 on Sci Fi Channel. The only ones I've personally seen are 1-5 and the TV show.
I really liked the first two as they had both Fred Ward _and_ Michael Gross in them. 2nd one goes to a petroleum field in Mexico. It's actually a pretty fun one that you should probably look into. =)
This is the best set of characters of any edition. I hope we will be seeing them for the next few weeks. It would be such a waste to retire them after one week.
Every video you folks post has at least one element to it that I can completely relate to in some fashion. I literally smile and laugh through everything you do. Thank you all for the hard work that goes into making each edition.
I'm appreciating the narrative flows getting better and more on par with a standard table setting. It feels a lot more like homebred one shots and the satire of player dynamics.

As soon as I saw where it was going, my inner monologue just started chanting "If you walk without rhythm, you won't attract the worms!" At which point it appears I conjured Christopher Walken by accident. He appeared, complained about having a fever, and needing more cowbell. Then he presented me with a watch. Serious points for the "Knuckle Sandwich" visual. Kinda surprised he created a brawling cowboy and didn't name him either "Blackjack" or "The Lariat". Or even "Cowboy Bob" and use his cast as a weapon with extra melee damage....
Ah, the Colt .45 Peacemaker, the gun that won the West..from dirt dragons? You Winchester cowboys in the back, pipe down. These are very enjoyable. I did indeed need new earbuds--went through 2 crappy pairs this year, for both sound in one ear just stopped--so used y'all's link previously and now have Raycons. So far, also enjoyable! Please enjoy the $1.17 commission, before taxes, and try not to spend it all on more oversize dice.

The way you would fix this boss fight is give the Tremor damage resistance for blunt attacks.
