What If? = About People who is unsure whether if they were a perfect match or did good enough for each other, they'll never find out because they don't believe in love or doubt to be open toward people.
The Path = About a mother who pledge herself on a journey that may result in her own life, as a show for her never ending love, she has doubts but prey that god will be at her side.
And what make this song so emotional is that, where song like Komm Süsser Tod, it has a lead singer singing her story, and the backup singers will sing the same lyrics represent their similar situation where they felt regret and guilt, and where it reach about last 4/4 of the song, it nothing but instrument, indicate something happened to her, we don't know.
But for "The path", there's only a lead singer, and when it reach the second half, not a single soul sing for her, symbolize that nobody could able to have that courage like her and we never know what happened in the end, most likely she did achieved her goal but died in a process, however the instrument at the second half isn't the same as the first half but with a more glorious tone, it's like an unknown entity or the many silent voices rooting for her, sing for her.

I just honestly didn’t want to see Misato die after everything she did I wanted her to atone not by death, but by asking forgiveness to the child she took in and hurt but wanted to make amends by spending her life with him and her child that would’ve been a better heartfelt ending I could accept after all this pain and despair that there was hope at the end forgiveness that would heal the wounds of grief, angry, and despair and replace them with love, hope, and compassion.
This AMV should have 100 times more views...It's just a masterpiece
