I'm loving mine. Playing on a bigger screen saves my eyesight. And it's so easy to pop out your vita memory card and throw it in this little device. Walmart has their own $$99 bundle with the controller, memory card, cables and 2 free games for anyone interested.
I pushed this one out a bit sooner so the HD versions are taking a bit of time to render. Sorry for the last video get cut. Not sure what happened with UA-cam on that one. But enjoy the video for now.
Kenroy Joseph It comes with only the PSTV, the power adaptr/cord, and an HDMI cable if you get the $99 basic set. The $139 is worth it because it has a controller, a memory card (which is proprietary and normally 30 bucks on its own in stores), and the LEGO Movie Game which, for me, is something I don't care about. The bundle is the better deal unless you happen to have a Dualshock 3 or 4 controller and a Vita memory card. On the other hand, if all you care about is PS4 streaming, then you don't need anything the bundle gives you.
Kenroy Joseph Well, now if you want the bundle that comes with all connections, Lego Movie Vita game, Dualshock 3 controller etc for $99 over on Amazon or as low as $79 if you want a used one - www.amazon.com/PlayStation-TV-DualShock-3-Bundle-vita/dp/B00KVMHVQ8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1423954907&sr=8-2&keywords=ps+tv
This seemed like the greatest idea when i first heard about it. Then the negatives started rolling in. The latency (lag) when using remote play to another room, the lower resolution, the fact you can't play all vita games (which is a big selling point) I'm just sticking with moving my ps4 to another room if i wanna play somewhere else. I timed it. It literally takes me a minute and a half
Bought the PS TV just for the remote play but then returned the next day. And its for that exact reason. The lag was annoying as hell. and playing Destiny (or any other game) with lower resolution wasn't an option. Just gonna move the PS4 if i wanna play in the living room.
I bought the Playstation TV Bundle a few days ago from ebgames here in Canada for $99. They were having a sale so I saved $40. I then traded in a game a used a coupon and got $17 off. So I only paid $92 after taxes. Love the deal I got!! Still going to keep my Vita. I'm hoping they will make it easy to transfer saves between the Vita and PSTV. I also ordered a 2nd 64GB Mem Stick since the 8GB Mem Stick it comes with sucks. Now if only Sony would support the system more and bring out more games for it.
When you say it could be a game changer, I agree, it's a bit like the Ouya. I think the Ouya could work really well, they just didn't quite have the resources to make it an excellent product. I sometimes like to play iPad games, it'd be cool if Apple made something small like the Apple TV so that you could play iPad games on a bigger screen, seeing the Ouya and now this from Sony, I think microconsoles will become more common for running games normally meant for portable systems.
Do I have to have a Playstation Vita to play Vita games on the Playstation TV? I can't tell you how happy I was when I found out I can play Tales of Hearts R on the PSTV.
The bundle pack is a good idea, but why did they bundle a dualshock 3 with it instead of dualshock 4? seems like a DS4 would have been better choice for game compatibility.
I got this thing a week ago and my impressions of the pstv is that it is nothing more than a glorified version of the psp so you can now play "some" of your psvita games on your tv and that this is the first step in fazing out the psp and the ps3 for the next gen models for good. The psp already can hook up to your tv, via composite jacks, and it can already stream games, music, and movies, via remote play from your ps3 on your tv or anyone's tv from anywhere, providing you have a good wifi connection. Since they stopped updating the psp you can no longer stream anything from anywhere unless you change the security settings on the router your using. The pstv is virtually the same thing. The only difference now is that you can use an hd cable to hook up to your tv, no ps3 remote play, and, for reasons I can't possibly fathom, you use a ps controller to operate your psvita through the pstv??? By doing that you can not play any psvita games that utilize all the functions that the psvita can do. When I first heard of the pstv I was under the assumption that you would finally be able to play your psvita itself, and "all" the psvita games through the pstv onto your tv, like the psp did with it's composite jacks. I would of loved to have played Gravity Rush on my 55" hd tv! All in all I still think this is a cool little device. I can now, just like my psp used to, play "some" of my psvita games on my 55" hd tv or anyone's hd tv, including all psp games too, and instead of bringing my ps4 over to a friend's house that don't have a ps4 I can now just bring this tiny little thing, a couple of controllers, link it to my ps4 back at home, and we're good go.
Lol you're both gonna need a damn good connection with extremely low ping times. And even with a very good internet, you can forget about playing an fps game, the input lag will be too noticeable and annoying as fuck.
First of all, It's called PLAYSTATION TV. Not Vita, or anything else. Secondly I only paid 99$ for mine, and I bought it because a controller by itself is about 55$ around here. So for an extra 45$ I now have PSTV, and a Game, and another memory card, and the cords! That is why I bought this, I own Ps1 through 4, and Ps Vita. And I am completely happy!
its that small? wow i expected it to be at leat a bit more bigger, i saw online and thought it was a fair size, but nop just like a screen of an ipod 4, woww
How do I play psONE games on this? I can't use the discs now can I? Moreover can I use the PSP and PSVita discs on it physically or do I need to buy them on the store? And lastly, I don't have a ps4 so will this be a good console buy for me knowing that I just own a PSP and the PlayStation' 1 and 2?
Great video, is this thing able download and store games on the memory card reason I ask is cause if I take it up to my cottage where there's no internet can I preload before I go, or does it need an active connection?
You can play most but I think the ones that require touch screen use you cannot. They update the compatibility with each update. I haven't had a problem with any vita game yet but I only have a handful.
The PS TV can only stream PS4 footage when both consoles are on the same wifi network. However, the PS Vita can do it as long as both systems are on wifi, even if the connections are different.
Can you make video ( ps vita VS ps tv ) For games like { amzing spider man , assassin,s creed lll } more color or game getting slowly or freezing when you move fast , any different change for that ..
i wonder what would have happened if sony put this out with the vita.... same time... and distinguished one from the other better. i imagine it would have sold alot better too. if they put both out in 2010 or around the pspgo timeframe.. it would have done real well i bet, probably would have beat the 3ds in handheld sales, and most third party tv boxes.. of course not roku or apple tv but others yes.
What would have been better if that the ps vita came with a hdmi port, and supported ps3 & ps4 controller from he beginning. On top of allowing any Micro SD cards, and doubling ram to make up for not being able to use virtual ram that current memory cards allow. If they released the vita like this without an increased pricetag, then I think that the vita would have been MUCH more successful. Good chance it would have beaten the 3DS too.
***** there was a vita in developement, a prototype that had hdmi or mini hdmi as well as a full USB port on top as i recall.. also it was very close to having a 5.5inch screen and NO analog sticks, the analog sticks would have been virtual ones on the touch screen, similar to how some mobile games have had. Pretty intresting right? I just dont understand why sony doesnt release a bigger vita gamepad... 7 or 8in ps vita 3000, with micro USB, possibly micros SD cards, switch back to OLED or AMOLED, way better battery and re-do the UI maybe, and give it 2gb ram (quadruple it).. and bam 299 MSRP.. they could market it as a tablet like the xperia Z line and offer LTE/3g again... id buy it in a hearbeat
sony need to continue promoting psvita tv bundle. i didnt get the chance when this was on sale for $50. i hope they give us a white version bundle the end this year
Do I need to buy a separate PS3/PS4 controller to use with the PlayStation TV or can I use the same one I use for my PS3/PS4 console? In other words, can one single PS3/PS4 controller work on both the PlayStation TV and the PS3/PS4 console?
If you link this thing to your ps4 can you then also play your games if you dont have your ps4 on can you like still play, fifa 15 or something Greet from Cees
1) Will it work if I sell my Vita and keep the memory card and game cards to use on the PS TV? 2) I also saw some guy playing PS3 games on the TV is this possible, or was he using the remote play? (He used PlayStation Now) (Nothing to do with questions but......) Also I might aswell get a PS4 remote to operate this because my brother has a PS4 and we could also play on that too!
If im not mistaken, it only supports a certain list of vita games. Unless you really need to stream ps4 games to another tv, this has very little use if you already have a vita.
I'm thinking about getting this, only so I can play my PS3 games digitally now since everyone else has moved on to PS4. Can this play PS2 titles as well?
I have a question and I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. Is w-fi required to play games you have downloaded or vita games that you have physical copies of? I now I have to update the system when I first power it on when I purchase it and that's fine but I don't always have a internet connection. I want to pick up a playstation tv to play my vita games on the big screen but I'm just afraid that I will always need an internet connection. Thank you to anyone who can answer this.
So this can play any game from any region? I might be considering on getting the Chinese version of Persona 4 Golden so... Oh, and any region for PSP games as well?
Hi BWOne , let me ask the "PS Vita TV" gaming machine, PS Vita TV versions, such as the EU, US, JP, ... can play all Game of JP, US, EU, .... Is it right ??? I feel you are very knowledgeable about the "PS Vita TV" I hope you soon to answer my questions, thank you !!!
Saarth Punjabi Free games exist, but not many and they arent really "good", the rest you'll have to buy but be careful to make sure that ps vita game is compatible with pstv.
Good video. Have you tried madden 13??? It played great except that I can't seem to figure out how to adjust the kicking arrow within the game using the DS3, if anyone knows how to adjust the kickoff arrow, please post. Thanks.
I have a question I don't own a ps3 or ps4 if I buy this can I buy a digital copy of a ps3 or ps4 game or is it just psvita, pstv games and ps3 and ps4 linked games
I'd get this mainly for psone classics and the couple vita games I want to play without buying a vita, the other stuff u get from a smart tv or the Xbox one I have.....I don't like Sony but this is a nice cheaper alternative to get the game experience, I'm still wondering about the PS3 streaming thing, were u stream games of the Internet and don't need a console
Funny watching In 2019. " this could be a real game changer...." lol

Can you play 2 player in this Playstaition TV
This seemed like the greatest idea when i first heard about it. Then the negatives started rolling in. The latency (lag) when using remote play to another room, the lower resolution, the fact you can't play all vita games (which is a big selling point)

I have an interesting take on this especially when compared to other devices like the Fire TV and soon to be released just announced Nexus Player.
vita has games?

Darkheat, vita has over 700 titles available to play on it. And that joke is old.
TnVGaming thats nice Nintendo has over 9320 games and growing with the 3DS having over 504 and growing and the wii u over 455 and growing.
Who's is watching in 2024 if me i watch in 2016

can you download games on to your pstv that you bought from playstation store
HELP!!! I have no original ps4 controler and i try to sync him but nothing happened.

Am i right in saying there is no range you just need a wi fi to use for example have tv at someone elses house?
Do I have to have a Playstation Vita to play Vita games on the Playstation TV? I can't tell you how happy I was when I found out I can play Tales of Hearts R on the PSTV.
1080i? The video upscaled from Vita's native resolution. Don't expect native HD from it.
Any other bundle coming soon with a ps4 controller
Do you need a play station console or can you play games from the ps store.
would you recommend it if I already have a ps vita?
2:10
that's what she said
Xd
bwone can we use this on dullshock 4 controllers
Does all PSVITA games work on this or only a couple?
Does it have the netflix and youtube app on it?
How much is this without the game bundle.?
I have a ps4 and not a vita, should I buy this?
will I be able to play vita games on this without a vita
The bundle pack is a good idea, but why did they bundle a dualshock 3 with it instead of dualshock 4? seems like a DS4 would have been better choice for game compatibility.
Does it have Modern Warfare 3 on the PS Now? If so, can you play multiplayer?
Soo u have to go to gamestop to reedem that paper for the lego game

I wonder if the dualshock 4 will ever be compatible with it.
It is I try tried it so happy now
Can a ps tv be use away from home like in another house that doesn't have a ps4 system?
Do we have to connect it to ps vita is it needed or just to tv

Can I get this with a ps4 controller? And the software the ps4 uses?
Yep, this works with a PS4 controller
i got one of these and the controller only works if it's plugged into the charger port. :(

So can you watch actual tv on this?
so I have heard this can allow you to stream your ps4 to your ps vita anywhere outside your home?
Only on your network the ps4 os on
Sky454fgh ! I don't understand, so do I need this if I want to stream my ps4 to my vita outside of my home?

There won't be much need for that comparison. When you see my review you will understand why.
