It annoys me that Makoto caught them by recording their discussion on Phantom Thieves business and getting definitive vocal evidence, and after that they haven't learned anything and are still discussing it loudly in public. Ryuji is still yelling and getting excited, honestly I would be regretting bringing Ryuji into the team every single day with how he treats being a thief. He is the definition of a loose end, a massive liability - any investigator with even a modicum of intelligence would be able to extract info from him in a single meeting, and he'd give the info up by complete accident too. He's probably the main reason Joker's sitting in an interrogation room covered in bruises They should be having these meetings in a soundproofed clubroom, a completely empty faculty-only bathroom, or in Joker's attic, and nowhere else

@@LampyGames I know this is old, but Ryuji can be argued to get worse over time. I hated his attitude from the start. A lot of the problems stem from Ryuji's punk attitude when talking to people, lust for popularity, and his inability to use his inside voice. Other problems stem from them knowing that using the navi app in a public place can potentially drag people in or cause other problems like people vanishing and reappearing but they do it constantly. They should have learned from Ann but they don't. Ryuji should have learned from Makoto getting voice recordings about how he's such a bad ass phantom thief but he doesn't.
@@hubbabubba5177 Yeah. I'm not mad at a fictional character. BreadlyToastington I really liked the Tomb palace, but holy shit the space ship killed me. Also, this is a pretty hot take but I think the Casino is overrated by a lot. The last palace was somewhat enjoyable other than the really fucking annoying mouse puzzles.
I dont like her purely because of how the game treats her. I hate that Joker and everyone else (besides morgana who has a legitimate reason) comes into the Metaverse and is extremely confused and knows nothing and learns as they go but Makoto comes in and suddenly knows everyone's weakness, basically becomes a leader, and acts all amazing while everyone is praising her, acting like shes the saving grace of the thieves. I think she gets praised more than Joker in this game. Shes probably the best in battle besides Ryuji imo and I love her outfit and persona but the way the game treats her gets on my nerves so much

Finnegan Ulysses Can’t really blame him though. The Persona community has built itself up on the structure of wifu culture, kinda like Fire Emblem but a bit less toxic.
Leannan The fire emblem fanbase is separated between “weeb newbies” and “toxic elitists.” The weebs play Awakening and the post-awakening games, and and the elitists play the Japan-only releases/Shouzou Kaga games. There is some overlap with the games in between, but they’re mainly played by the elitists.
Honestlu that makes it funnier. I know in Yakuza 7 there’s a quest where someone is speaking English and the protagonist doesn’t know what’s going on. In the English dub, though, he says he can’t understand English but winks at the camera while he says it. Those jokes always make me laugh
With how fervently and passionately Joe seems to hate half the cast, and how recently he's started bitching about every single story-related bit of the game, he makes himself seem like a bigger weeb than anyone in the chat. Also, why was he annoyed/surprised that Yusuke didn't want to help a criminal even though "we're thieves."? THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT OF THE GAME IS THAT THEY'RE FIGHTING CRIMINALS, OF COURSE THEY DON'T WANT CRIMINALS AS ALLIES!
I hope in the later Videos Joe realizes, that the Flashbacks arent meant to remember but to emphasis the thoughts of the Chraracters. Its a common Tool in Movies, Books and Games. Thats why you only get Flashbacks when a Character is in Thought.
Of course but it's so poorly used in this so far. We literally had just seen Makoto be called useless, a gasp and clench of her fist would be enough to understand. Same goes for Trudeau, flashes back literally seconds after he drives off in the first encounter. If some time had past, or it was something innocuous that the audience might have forgotten, maybe, but it wasn't, a player paying any attention to the story would of understood the point without it. It's repetition that drags scenes out, murdering the momentum and beats the audience over the head with no subtlety. It feels like the game is treating us like a child.
Although I'm enjoying watching the game a lot of it feels a little childish actually. Repeated text constantly, Morgana babysitting the player, characters all parroting the same quips at the start and end of each meetup like a kid's show. Lots of wasted lines and time, I feel a lot needs polish and streamlining. I also feel that non-voiced lines might be causing some of the bloat, if they had to pay more for voice acting on everything there'd be monetary incentive to cut the fat.
THEM0J0MAN To be fair, you have to think about the people who these games are generally marketed to. Brain dead retards who just care about wifus. They usually aren’t smart, or functional, especially when Makoto is the most popular wifu. They need their hands to be held and we’ve all gotta pay for it now.

4:38:38 Morgana only has half? Hmm, I wonder what happened to the other half...
The lead designer wanted to have at least one scene with Ann with hair down, but after he saw a sketch he did an immediate NOPE. (she looked good in the sketch... dunno, maybe teens in swimsuits is nice, but nice flowing hair is too lewd)
They gave her an outfit with her hair down in the dance spin-off as well, and it looks great

3:12:11 Wait, aint that bad?
3:14:13 I thought I heard ‘Statues’ and I thought this was Recettear again (‘Buy those fucking stat-jues!’)
“Wow look at how Mary Sue Makoto is!” As he proceeds to literally talk over Makoto talking about her flaws.
I don't recall what part that you're talking about, but actions speak louder than words. It doesn't matter if she says she has flaws if we don't see them in action. It's just talk with no substance. I may be wrong, however.
She was literally just explaining how boring she is lol it’s obvious being bland is a flaw
@@tibetorona3366 The game shows that most of the people at school don't like her and she didn't have any friends before meeting the thieves
@@truedarkness4052 you could show people talking bout her behind her back, but instead you just get alot of talk and nothing else. you see Ryuji getting harassed, you see Ann interacting with Suzui, you see Yusuke's slump. so where's makoto
Makoto is kinda a bum ngl
waffles and pancakes lmaoooo
It annoys me that Makoto caught them by recording their discussion on Phantom Thieves business and getting definitive vocal evidence, and after that they haven't learned anything and are still discussing it loudly in public. Ryuji is still yelling and getting excited, honestly I would be regretting bringing Ryuji into the team every single day with how he treats being a thief. He is the definition of a loose end, a massive liability - any investigator with even a modicum of intelligence would be able to extract info from him in a single meeting, and he'd give the info up by complete accident too. He's probably the main reason Joker's sitting in an interrogation room covered in bruises
They should be having these meetings in a soundproofed clubroom, a completely empty faculty-only bathroom, or in Joker's attic, and nowhere else
Calm down bro
@@alejomironchik6730 Bro dismantled Ryuji's entire life 💀
4:37:43 As much as I prefer he wasn't, it does set up some minor difference between the P4 and P5 Protagonist that Yu would be way too chad to look like that, while Akira does.

He is far away
I hope you catch up soon!
Yes I know how old this video is, no I haven't finished the game, but you're telling me Elderly Female customer gets voice lines and Mishima doesn't. 1:10:00
Mishima got multiple voice lines much earlier in the game
Rose Senin Mishima gets voice lines early in the game with the Kamoshida incident, as well as the beginning and end of his social link, and at the very end of the game. If anything, he has more voice acting then most side characters, since they haven’t been graced with Kamoshida’s touch
Rose Senin Thats because she is a waifu
Just not Dadapon’s
Nishima is a background NPC unlike Elderly Female customer.
I know that he fished the series but I wished someone in his sub box would tell him to hand out with his party members and get them to rank 10
1:51:32 no one wants to talk about waffles there?
I have created my current tier list from my own game play so far.
Top tier
Yusuke
Sojiro
Futaba
Kawakami -I’m dating her
Mid tier
Ann
Haru
Doc legs
Weapons man
Fortune lady
Makoto
Low tier
Ryuji
Morgana
Btw Ryuji and morgana have zero redeeming qualities story wise. Every time they enter I wanna fast forward which sucks cuz they’re the main characters usually.
@@relatablecalamity8381 depending on where you are it gets worse, but by the end Morgana gets a lot better. If you dont like Ryuji at the start you'll probably never like him though
@@Centrophy to be fair, neither does anyone else in the group. Don't be mad at him for that one, be mad at the writers
@@hubbabubba5177 Yeah. I'm not mad at a fictional character. I'm just annoyed that the writers never let anyone else in the group give him or anyone else shit outside of the cat and it's usually just brushed off. You're right on no one in the group ever learning any lessons though not just him but I think I mentioned that in my earlier comment.
This game slogged so much for me once I got to Egypt, though the puzzles were by far the most enjoyable. It just felt like a chore to grind out the ending once I got here
I'm not english, what "slogged" means?
Slow and boring. A chore to play
BreadlyToastington
I really liked the Tomb palace, but holy shit the space ship killed me. Also, this is a pretty hot take but I think the Casino is overrated by a lot. The last palace was somewhat enjoyable other than the really fucking annoying mouse puzzles.
Why does he say meh so much? Is it a reference?
Keaton Tam it’s a reference to xenonlade chronicles 2. His least favorite character is called tora and ends every sentence in the sound “meh”

The phantom thieves are thieves in name only. There's no laws that apply to the game's cognitive world.
Morality?
@@Nonzerotonin Their "thievery" results in positive change, so it would be morally good.
@@CondemnedGuy they literally hold up sentient beings for money.
@@Nonzerotonin That's debatable. Shadows are reflections of human psyche, not their own individuals.
Is Makoto hated this much by everyone? Because she never bothered me that much, but it seems like the chat agrees with joe here.
I like her but I honestly prefer if Hifumi was the strategist and part of the phantom thieves.
Shes probably the best in battle besides Ryuji imo and I love her outfit and persona but the way the game treats her gets on my nerves so much
I kinda dont like her but at the same time I understand her idk
Fancy Lamp dude that’s literally what her character is she’s the intelligent one of the group so it makes sense she caught on faster and ofc Ryuji and Ann didn’t if you don’t like that then oh well

Pedro Marberger, a grown man sitting on his chair writing that makoto is the best girl....thats sad.....just get a REAL girlfriend, you get a bit too thirsty. also your sentence is cringey as all fuck :/

@@habama1077 except joe says this ironically. Pedros opinion is legit but it makes it cringey af how he wrote it. " and i'll fight for my rights" i mean come on the first sentence is cringey but the last bit is too damn much.
@@foulXD its not ironic if he follows through with it. Doesn't he romance one of them later? There is a difference between memeing it and being ironic. Besides how do you know OP wasn't memeing. The fight for my rights part sounded a lot like like ,,fite me".

Can’t really blame him though. The Persona community has built itself up on the structure of wifu culture, kinda like Fire Emblem but a bit less toxic.
It's not a joke it's true

The fire emblem fanbase is separated between “weeb newbies” and “toxic elitists.” The weebs play Awakening and the post-awakening games, and and the elitists play the Japan-only releases/Shouzou Kaga games.
There is some overlap with the games in between, but they’re mainly played by the elitists.
2:56:19 KNACK 2, BAYBEEEE
1:16:50 Lol this line doesn't make sense in an English dub.

THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT OF THE GAME IS THAT THEY'RE FIGHTING CRIMINALS, OF COURSE THEY DON'T WANT CRIMINALS AS ALLIES!
did they really need to animate a scene just to highlight sexual harassment and play it off as a joke?

wow insightful commentary as always
THEM0J0MAN
To be fair, you have to think about the people who these games are generally marketed to. Brain dead retards who just care about wifus. They usually aren’t smart, or functional, especially when Makoto is the most popular wifu. They need their hands to be held and we’ve all gotta pay for it now.
The makoto one happened literally not even a minute after we saw the scene lol
Valleyraven007
Imagine that in a movie. It would be so jarring and offensive because of how stupid the story writers think the audience is.
