Yea they kinda blueballed us a bit with half of Umbar being just Gondor 2.0 I quite like how the landscape looks and they're usually pretty good with that at least. They do seem to use the new desert assets sparsely so some of it still looks like any other part of Middle Earth. New assets is what makes things look distinct IMO, but it seems that it's only a few buildings that are new. I'll buy it. But I'm absolutely not buying the Collector or Ultimate fanbundle. They're so lackluster with what you actually get that it's falling into scam territory. Also holy hell the portrait frames are UGLY and there's already visual bugs with the new running animation and cosmetics 😂

I noticed Scenario, or whatever his name is, really hyping up this new sandstorm weather system, but weather debuffs have been a thing in games since before 2007. In a sense, couldn't I just place a sandstorm effect and create an invisible debuff zone, like when you enter frozen water, and call it a new weather system? Tsk tsk tsk...
I think it's is purely visual. Instead of rain, arid regions in the expansion will appear to have sandstorms which is fairly distinct as far as lotro visuals go. I'd love a new weather system. There's a lot you could do to add to the atmosphere of a zone if they expanded on it. But they're evidently not in the position where they can dedicate the time and resources towards doing it.
