Bethoven did this first
XDXDXDXD
Lol
That's why in fact it's often called "The Beethoven Challenge".
'content creators' lmaooo
beethoven wasn't totally deaf, and he used to do some black magic fuckery a bit too hard for me to explain to listeb through vibrations..
basically he only got handicapped slightly
Here's a song challenge prompt for you: Why not make Flight of the Bumblebee using samples of bumblebees?
I think frankjavcee already did that
wait no that was fireflies
Wrong channel
That is impossible lol
S T O R M not to him
5:35 That synth hit me hard damn that was good .
I agree, I'd love to see a full song of it :)
Really hits a sonic the hedgehog vibe and I approve.
so sonic the hedgehog, i love it so very very much!
Seeeeeeeeeeymooooouuuuuuurrrr!
It sounds like Lofi Hiphop
These videos are so mesmerising - absolutely love the content on this channel AND your Spotify. 👍🏻
Great vid! Never would have come up with that result using the Maths/BIA/Clouds...really cool to see how you approached it!
White Noises did he even follow his own challenge tho
8:25 on sounds like some large abandoned facility. The hum sounds like a machine running in a large empty room, and upping the pitch sounds like some sort of emergency alert. I love it.
That Clouds sound at 8:43 made my goosebumps run away. Amazing. Andrew is amazing.
Experiment 2 is probably my favorite thing I've ever heard you create
I’ve been wanting you to do this again! This was awesome!💖💖
Andrew I actually really love the way your "messed up" beat turned out
5:35 so yea whats that song
Rectangular LED sliders @ 4:50 are so retro, love em. Reminds me of 70's and 80's HiFi gear.
10:12 Did you just use the words 'really limited' and 'maths' in the same sentence? xD
The more I watch your videos the more enticing modular synthesis looks. Maybe if I pick up enough knowledge about it here I can gain the confidence to start buying parts to make my own modular set up. Great video as always, Andrew!
Not gonna lie, in experiment 1 I thought the mistake patch was more interesting.
Mistake patch is dope
Just watching you do a commentary on patching is really informative for learning modular synthesis, would love to see more of this!
That chord thing sounds like Steven Universe and I freaking love it!!!
Noah Hughes Which SU song?
Sounds like the various background tracks. Especially when they're doing a montage of some sort/ walking around
I thought the same thing
Been loving your videos so much more after your break. I never noticed anything negative in your older videos but these just feel happier and like you’re enjoying it more. It’s probably just all in my head but I just wanted you to know you’re doing everything super well!
Always love when I get a notification from you, and your content bro! :)
DKruNEye some ones a fishing for likes
I really dug the last part of this one. Nice and simple break down of the 3 modules and how you can use them. Thanks!
Yes I love watching you make a patch!! 💖💖💖
You should do a variation of this where you create something without being able to hear it, but us at home could hear it while you work on it.
i actually i kinda love the synth patch. like it reminded me of the last OPN album. it sounds so wild.
Yeah I had the same thought! It would be really cool to recycle that
I'm really glad this channel has opened up my willingness to learn more about music, luckily i'm already in Marching Band and wind ensemble as a percussionist at my high school so I can take full advantage of these videos and put them into practice.
Nothing like modular synths!!! Why can’t Christmas get here faster😬!! Oh and Happy Birthday bro!!🎉🎊🎉🎉
In the "Three Module" part of the video that droning that was going really gave me some sci-fi vibes and when you spiked it in pitch it just further set in my mind this kinda dystopian future I was picturing.
That patch sounded like a dot matrix printer! wouldnt be too outta place in like a techno industrial kinda thing...?
The solo line over Experiment #2!!! So good :)
By the way, Andrew I found your channel from your video about your hearing loss and I’ve been wondering if it’s gotten worse or better or what
Man, analog synths blow my mind! I'm so used to software stuff seeing all the physical wires and knobs is crazy to me. Seriously creative stuff in this video!
2:00
WOAH, your patch sounds just like someone's voice! How did you do that?!!?
Architector #4 One of his modules is a sampler. The patching video he has linked shows it in more detail.
I tried to make a joke about the battery notification voice .-.
Architector #4 Ha, I missed that! 😄
potal 14
Love your nerdy music stuff. Keep up the good work!!
Next up: FM synthesis without hearing it.
I love these videos, keep it up Andrew :)
Ive been a long time watcher/subscriber and honestly you amaze me of how far you've come over the years, paving the way for new artists including myself across the entire world.
If i ever need someone to pilot a spaceship i know who to call :D
I love watching your content and got into synthesis and music production all thanks to you... thank you so much for all your great videos Andrew!
hi
i love your channel
these are one of the channels i binge watch
Watching you create music on these machines makes me feel as if you are not really composing, you just go in blind and and see what the machine comes up with.
Best Idea ever, To do this again!
You are honestly one of my favourite UA-camrs. You show really unique content and that makes it really enjoyable and fun. Thankyou for inspiring me, you really have changed my life.Thankyou.
Wow...just wow!
this is such a fun idea and it reminds me of when my piano theory teacher would make me write a tiny song to help me learn my scales and chords!
"Does he trim his eyesbrows or do they just grow that way?" - my mother
Oh gosh 😂 (hi two years later btw)
Damn your mom need some respect lol
So cool! As always I love the different experiments and ideas you come up with to push your creative boundries. The last patch you did with the 3 models was really cool. It reminded me of kind of a Post-Rock or IDM feel. Kinda like Godspeed You! Black Emperor crossed with Aphex Twin. Love the video and am exited for the giveaway, thx Andrew!
I'm gonna watch this video without hearing it
Too cool! Love learning so much about music through your channel. It makes me want to expand my horizons as a keyboard player.
When you can’t use the same exact title so you add an exclamation point to it and call it a day....
I love seeing you just messing with the synth and hearing what everything does!! It’s a great way to learn more about it
I have been subbed a long time and i would love to enter the givaway
All this synth stuff is so beyond me... but it sure is fun watching you mess with it!
It's so cool. I like you
Everytime I get a notification that you've uploaded a video, I get all giddy. You have over the year(of me subbing) opened my eyes and mind to musical Funimation and ideas I could never imagine of. Without your synth vids and all the amazing goodies youve producde. I wouldn't have dived head first, nose deep in modular synth and musical creations. Keep doing what makes you happy Andrew. You truly have a passion and I can only speak for myself, but you can only keep going up from here. Your solo projects are truly one of a kind and gives us all inspiration.
Can you make a video on vaporwave? pls ;3
You pitch down and repeat certain parts of old songs, video over.
Check out the video made by Marti Fischer about vaporwave, he explained it really nice (in my opinion). Only thing that may be a problem is that it's explained in german language.
Eso es del 2010
Aarón Espinoza Castro we el no te entiende :v
This is very original and unique sounding.
Almost all sounds that were made in this video could be used for a sci-fi movie or for a game.
i have no modular stuff but i entered because WHY NOT
i have no idea what modular even is
its okay also how do you leave the giveaway because ive been looking at modular and i dont think i can afford a case/power supply
but i probably woudnt win anyways
idk. i shoudnt worry. thanks for talking mert
Nice retake on that experiment! I learn so much from your videos, thank you so much for being an awesome producer.
Make gachi using sounds from a twitch stream.
Andrew, so glad you're back! You're one of my favorite people to watch. You're content is always so intriguing and keeps me very interested and wanting more.
You should make a song using only sounds from the Yodeling Walmart Boy video.
Wow that thing with the chords and the waveforms was really cool
in other words -- making music like beethoven?
i loved the "bad" synth patch! it reminded me of experimental artists like holly herndon
great explaination of the modules & patch i appreciate it very much (damn helpful)! love how you used clouds as a drone machine!
First
I really didn't get into producing yet but your videos make me really interested in trying it out, this was an interesting project, cool concept! Really enjoyed this video dude.
I love seeing you back at it without having the constant stress of having to upload a video every Monday and Thursday. I've really enjoyed all you've been putting out. Also, I find it hilarious that for your birthday you're giving away stuff.
Thanks for suddenly inspiring me to make of a sort of chill-y electronic song just from patching a minor chord at 7:44 :)
Really enjoyed this! Been playing with VCV Rack to get my modular fix.
I'd love to see more of the same modules - maybe a special 4 producers episode with people who use the same set of agreed upon modules?
Hey Andrew! I’m a huge fan from Egypt and I’ve been following you ever since you had 500k subscribers on UA-cam. Needless to say, I’m one of your biggest fans and I’m gonna be studying music in University in two years (thanks to you and other music creators on UA-cam). You’ve inspired me to make music and you’ve helped me learn so much about the one thing that I absolutely love. I would love to meet you someday I think that would be pretty awesome.
Anyway, just dming you to say that I’ve entered the giveaway (I do every year) and I would love to win some of the gear that you’re giving out because it would really help me further my career since all I really have to work with rn is my mom’s old keyboard and guitar. Thanks again Andrew and I hope you see this message! 💞
Every time I feel disheartened about working on music, watching Andrew simultaneously makes me envious but gives me inspiration. Been listening/watching since the Songs To Wear Pants To days! I still randomly hear "A bug fell in love with a cat" sometimes
One of the greatest music channel in UA-cam. Learned so much from following your vids.
I’d love to see the 4 producers 1 sample style video again! Dope.
A possible idea for if you do another experiment like this would be to record what your DAW/synth is outputting while you are programming/patching and your narration of what your doing so we can hear what you think should be happening and what you're actually doing and laugh at how different the two things are.
So glad your back in full force dude, Great video man and happy birthday too in advance! 🌚
Watching your videos makes me love music all over again
I LOVE how ambient the 3 module challenge tune sounds! It would've been really cool if it was a full-length track!
content like this is my favorite. I'm trying out music production, because you inspired me to do so. Thank you.
5:24 IS SOLID GOLD ANDREW YAS MAKE IT A FULL SONG WHAT ARE YOU DOING BEING SO CHILL ABOUT IT JEEZE! AMAZING!
There was some pretty sick beats in here ,super cool!! Keep up the awesome work
This stuff is always so interesting, I love getting introduced to new forms of producing music. Keep up the good work man!
I think the modular synth patch is pretty great, would love a return of your more experimental stuff.
Another great video dude! I recently got into music production and it's all thanks to you, cheers!
That second tune was so sick, I want a full version
I could watch your videos the whole day! Thank you so much for your tremendous effort to deliver us some quality videos💪📯🎹
Greetings. Firstly I'd like to thank you for being such an expressive yet curious music artist. I draw so much inspiration from you due to the fact that I too am diving into this vst sonic ocean. Being 22 right now, Im glad that my upbringing has always been about music. From Trinity Guildhall music exams to high-school choir classes to now doing an arts degree here in Cape Town, South Africa. I began to really explore my expressive nature with music through the purchasing of the amazing Ableton PUSH 2. Since then, my understanding of music (most importantly, sound) has transformed me into believing that music is the only element in life that can save this world. Why, because through music and sound, you are free. Free to do just about anything. Their is no end to sound. You can literally create a sonic wave and sometimes, never hear it again. Thanks for being an internet mentor to me and through your experimental ventures shown through your videos, I hope to one day see you in person. Which brings me to the reason why this comment is longer than it should be... I'm not sure if this give away is a draw or maybe you'll choose someone at random but Andrew, I need this opportunity. I've seen what NI has been doing recently and how sad it is for me to just be observing the resources of your art just dancing in the hands of other people. Watching your videos, I just sit there and wonder, "the things I can do with that synth..." (BTW. I'm getting the new Korg Prologue next year: if possible, can you make a review on that please...) But yea... uhm... I'm starting to loose my words now. Okay, long storng short, I need this. Doing my final year this year and after this year, I'll venture off into this very small big world to make my mark on the sonic spectrum of time and histroy the small way the hero Beethoven did. Please consider this comment as a global communicated plea and not a post on a wall. PS. www.soundcloud.com/voyclss Hope you like it.
Whenever I saw you were doing a giveaway for Modular gear I was so excited!!! Happy Birthday!
That whole groove/melody at 5:25 just makes me so damn happy.
Reasons Andrew is Cool #457:
Andrew at a modular synth: "lets do this!" comes up with something complex and awesome in 12 min.
Me at a modular synth: "how does this work again?" comes up with something super simple in 4 days... and counting...
Very cool. Appreciate the time you took to show us the whole process.
Awesome video! Super stoked to see you revisit that challenge.
Keep the musical challenges (and the giveaways lol) coming boi!
You make synthesizers look so amazing, I may give them a try!
i love your stuff....i spend every waking moment making music and u are such an inspiration!!!!! keep up the awesome work
That pitch down from 8:21 was so beautiful
Man! I cannot even begin to describe how much of a big fan I am of your youtube channel and your songs....Basically I am a BIG fan of yours.... 😍
you are such an inspiration my dude 🙏 keep up the outstanding musical work!
that chord progression is so beautiful
Its amazing how you can make these sounds. I would love to try this!
You are really smart Andrew! Also this sort of musicmaking is really awesome
