Dear Americans, We don’t eat this at all unless we’re on a sophisticated railway ride or in Chelsea or Kensington, London. I’m British and I’ve only ever had this 3 times in my life 😂
Of course, you'd have to be pretty rich in order to eat like this everyday that which I'm willing to bet most English aren't. 'Afternoon tea' for most is simply just having a cup of bagged tea around noon time, nothing special.

James Dutson is that why I haven't really enjoyed most scones I've tried? Here in the southern US I've never seen clotted cream and/or jam made available to go with a scone. if eating a scone without cream and jam is like eating a hot dog without mustard on it, well no wonder I haven't been impressed by a scone! it's incomplete!
Should probably start with getting proper scones. US scones are more like rock cakes and no amount of jam or cream could make that taste nice. British scones are basically a sweet 'American biscuit'.
I’ve been there for tea and yup, it’s really good. But there’s also some fusion Japanese afternoon tea places which are very innovative. This is more classic

"It's a crumpet"
Me: *facepalms*
Im a true British and trust me, afternoon tea is good. Just wait till you have an all day brunch in london.
DaBoi David afternoon tea is da best!!!👌💜
@Kate A Exactly, its good. So plain and simple, but yet magnificent.
I literally yelled "Noo!!" when he made a scone sandwich
Wait...did he just sing a Hilary Duff song?
Mate. Without the jam and cream it just isn't a proper SCOAN
Anna Chapman I don't know if jam is the same for us at it is for you but give it a try!
Should probably start with getting proper scones. US scones are more like rock cakes and no amount of jam or cream could make that taste nice. British scones are basically a sweet 'American biscuit'.
There’s a café in my town pretty much dedicated to afternoon tea, it looks super good
I hope Steven and Andrew never divorce. This wasn’t the same.
I have seen several of these videos of people visiting a tea house, but this is, by far, my favorite!
I’ve been there for tea and yup, it’s really good. But there’s also some fusion Japanese afternoon tea places which are very innovative. This is more classic
I am a Brit and have never had afternoon tea... I-I feel ashamed.
Hexlyn Spells Same 😂
Great Scott! Hand in your union Jack underpants 🤣🤣🤣
Hexlyn Spells it is ok many Brits have never had afternoon tea so you are not the only one.
You have never had a cup of tea in the afternoon?
me neither, im a brit and im ashamed to admit that......... I don't like tea
They should have gone to Betty's in Yorkshire. They do the best and most famous afternoon tea
Rachel padgett is yorkshire a town in england?
Iustin Raducanu as someone from Yorkshire this comment caused me physical pain
@lustin Raducanu Yorkshire is a county in england, for future refeference if it ends in shire it's most likely a county.
Yorkshire is a large county in the north of England, which York is in, which is the city that Betty's Tearoom is in.
Yorkshire is the county and Betty’s Is in the town of Harrogate
James Corden????
Speaks exactly like him too.
At 2:29 he is thinking, "Where the hell is Andrew?"
I cut out when he said “ I though finger sandwiches were made from fingers”
as an American Their conduct is cringy. 😐
This was so amazing and I’m British 😂❤️
I have👌🧡
Could you sub to me please
5:04 you cheated on Andrew, Steven.. Lol
What was wrong with Andrew today
2:20 Steven is seriously contemplating if he should ever leave without Andrew again
I love that they say cheers, I personally always say "here's to tea"
Andrew after this: "WELCOME HOME CHEATER"
"Let the rain fall down..."
Did he just start singing Hilary Duff?
Props.
I instantly heard it blasting in my head lol. I'm a metal/rock, jazz/blues chick and bless I've gone far away from pop but I can't help but still jam to Coming Clean 😂
That moment at 3:44 when Steven not only said “scone” incorrectly but made it into a sandwich and ate it....
😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬
I’m an American and even I know these things
How is scone supposed to be pronounced
My mouth was watering watching you guys have afternoon tea! I love scones with clotted cream and jam!
What kind of tea can't you take into space?🪐 Gravi - tea
I’mBritish and it’s not that posh all the time 😂😂
When they were eating I don’t think the new that a lot of the stuff they were doing was bad table manner 😂
The guy in the video explaining the food looks like James Corden from The Late Late Show
Love afternoon tea. When my cousin and I visited London, we booked afternoon tea at the Fan Museum. Highly recommended.
I love that Ben started singing Hillary Duff when Steven was pouring the chocolate
its a bit of a sin to have scones without clotted cream D: but i do need a chocolate scone in my life
Y’all taking this too seriously 😭, has it ever occurred to y’all that keeping a constant upbeat and cheery exterior is the basis of most, if not all, UA-cam videos? It’s a clip about two guys enjoying food, not an etiquette lesson, of course they have to add some jazz to it, otherwise you’re just watching people eat.
and now I'm HUNGRY after the initial intro!
danz beard true me too
Love the Ben and Steven combo. Steven needs to have Ben in more of his videos.
My husband is a typical dude but when we moved to England he's the one who got all excited about having afternoon tea here. We've had fancy-schmancy afternoon tea at places like Claridge's, and we've gone to way more budget friendly places like Harriet's Tearoom and Munnings in Lavenham.
DONT EVER, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY, SANDWICH UR SCONE TOGETHER hahah
To be honest only extremely posh, rich British people do this on a daily basis.😂😂
Kate Murphy no im not rich and i get afternoon tea
sophie L like this, all the time. I'm just saying it's not a common British thing.
Kate Murphy Well i am british so i would know
sophie L so am I
sophie L why does that prove your point
You usually doing afternoon party for like a quality time with family ☺
I'm American, but my family does this because we were originally from the South.
My mum comes over from Germany at least once a year and its become tradition for us to go for afternoon tea. Its such a chilled, sociable thing to do. Its taken is 3 hours to get through ours before because we're just enjoying the conversation and watching the world go by.
Got that Hillary duff song going in my head as soon as he said "let the rain", THEN HE STARTED SINGING IT!! Yaaaas
