Pat was a great play by play commentator. When they teamed him with John it was majic. Why did I cry for the last fifteen seconds, like I knew either of these gentlemen?
Started watching football in 1999 when I was 10. Me and my dad watched every Rams game and every episode of HBO's Inside the NFL. I'm 32 now and I just realized how much Madden and Summerall were special people in my life. Madden and Summerall were iconic, you had to watch the game they were calling even if it wasn't your team. It was like you were in the room with them and they always respected the players and understood their emotions. They were funny and explained the game in a way that any one could understand even if you were just a kid. This was a great eulogy by Madden and shows how genuine these two guys are.
Kyle, your father brought joy into the homes of millions of people all over the world. I know my family sure misses listening to Pat and John banter back and forth. Thank you for uploading the service, and God bless you.
These two absolute legends were such a part of so many Americas lives, mine included. Hearing John speak about the comfort of working with Pat and I cant help but think about the comfort that we were provided by these two Icons of American culture for so many years. I am so grateful for both of them. Rest in peace to you both and thank you😥😥
Goodbye John, we'll miss you but will rest easy knowing you and Pat are talking together.
I grew up watching these 2 in the late 80's and 90's. There has never been a better broadcasting duo than these men. They are synonymous with Thanksgiving and football for me. Miss you Pat.
By far the best commentary duo ever they don't come any classier than those two gentlemen
RIP Pat and now to John Madden too!
This was so beautiful... Wonderful Eulogy... Growing up a Dallas Cowboys fan, I was blessed to see Pat and John on TV a lot in the 90's.... The superbowls, the Thanksgiving games, the Turducken lol they were all great memories. Im sure Pat and John are calling a great game up in Heaven now.... I really miss both of them....
Growing up watching the Chicago Bears dominance in 85 there was something even more special when Pat and John did the broadcast. The numerous Thanksgivings spent with them and the fun they gave us will forever remain.Great job John as your friendship came out to us viewers and you nailed this
John Madden and Pat Summeral reunited in Heaven to call games again. RIP
HE IS WITH HIS BUDDY ONCE AGAIN CALLING GAMES. THE 2 BEST TO EVER DO IT
Pat was a great play by play commentator. When they teamed him with John it was majic. Since they were with CBS and later Fox, they had the NFC during the regular and post seasons during that great run of NFC Super Bowl wins. Think of the memories of all those fan bases. 49ers, Redskins, Giants, Bears, Cowboys, Packers and Rams. Lots of great memories of their teams winning and listening to these guys calling the action.
How have I never seen this before? John Madden, you stopped a room with Pat!
