Back in the mid 80s family friends immigrated to Aus, who had 3 daughters 14, 16, 18 who just didn't want to move to Australia coz they thought they'd never see a concert or ever hear decent music ever again. Only took approx a month for the girls to change their minds, once they discovered INXS, Cold Chisel, Farnsey and AC/DC - things weren't that bad after all lol

I love to hear and see your enjoyment at what I think is great music now lost in todays music of 😊technology. Being 73 years old, I think my contemporary’s and myself, had the best music to grow up with.
2 absolute Aussie legends. Diesel is the guitarist ,he is amazing in his own right, he is also Jimmys brother in law . The 90s were full of jimmy and johns music, also many other amazing Aussie bands.Sunday afternoons at the pub , hot days , listening to live music, can't beat it.
I remember when I was little in the 60's, my older brother would always get the new music sheets and lock himself in the bedroom to learn them. He has a lovely voice but would never sing in front of anyone. He would be in his room singing his heart out. And I remember in about 1971 my eldest brother got a record player. Wild! Listening to the radio was still popular then. How times have changed.😁
John & Jimmy are effectionately known as 'Barnsy & Farnsy' here in Australia as they're best friends. The guitarist is Diesel, another amazing Australian talent,a singer & guitarist, look him up. All these guys have been friends for many years, its wonderful.
Mat I just love your reactions, particularly to our Aussie musical icons. Your joy always makes me smile and whilst I replay your John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes reactions just because, when I'm sad they make me smile, thank you.
Loved this, and knew you would, too. Lead singer in Cold Chisel for years. Big in Europe, probably in Scotland back in the day. You should check out his Stone Cold collab with Joe Bonomassa, then move over to Simply the best, with Tina Turner, then Do you love me with Josh Terskey. The rabbit hole is long
If you want to hear a different side of John Farnham again - try "Burn for You" or even catch him singing the classic operatic "Grenada" in duet with Anthony Warlow. John also possesses what used to be known as an "Irish Tenor" capability
Absolute classic. awesome reaction! Your face when Jimmy started singing was priceless! They compliment each other so well, so glad you did this song. Jimmy grew up in Adelaide, South Australia where I'm from and in 1975 our high school was lucky enough to have a free concert by Jimmy in his band Cold Chisel...awesome stuff!
I have to say that I watched your reaction to You're the voice. I can't even like or comment on it, but I really loved your reaction to that song. Your passion for music is very infectious. Love this reaction too. Much love from Queensland Australia 🦘💜
Great reaction. Most of us had our eyes fixed on you for your first reaction of Jimmy. We knew it would be classic. It was. As many have said Jimmy is a huge star in his own right and like John is legendary. Some great songs from Jimmy are Wild Thing, Bow River ( another great singer Ian Moss takes the lead, youll love it) and When the war is over. All brilliant.

He’s the King of rock in Australia and you ain’t seen nothin yet! This is an awesome intro but wait till you see his range in other songs! Thanks Mat ❤️
Oh for sure I will check them out right now Dr KAP. Honestly is voice is stunning. When I seen people asking me to check out his work in the comments I really never envisaged his voice to sound like this. It was so surprising but so delightful. Can't wait to see more of his stuff. Well, John Farnham was born in east London and Jimmy Barnes is Glegsa lad (Cowcaddens). The guy on guitar is Johnny Desiel, Jimmy's brother-in-law and he was born in Massachusetts, USA. He had a great band called the Injectors. Should check him out. He can sing too.
Great reaction. Knew you'd love it! Farnsie and Barnsie have always been brilliant together. The guitarist Diesel (Mark Lizotte) who is also Barnsie's brother in-law is a very taletnted artist in his own right. If you want to react to more soul checkout Barnsie and his son David Campbell, or to hear the flipside of Barnsie's talent checkout the band Cold Chisel and their songs Khe Sanh, Forever Now, Working Class Man, Bow River to name a few.
My Nan was born here, but her parents hail from Scotland. I also have Irish, English, German and French heritage. I’m an Aussie through and through and absolutely love this beautiful land. I have many family members who have gone to war in the name of the Anzacs to protect the country and people. I agree that you can hear Jimmy’s accent when he talks, but it is not as thick as yours. Jimmy is my favourite artist. Jimmy had a hard upbringing and was first in a band called Cold Chisel. There are two singers in this band, being Jimmy and Ian Moss who also plays a mean 🎸. Their harmonies are 🔥 Other duets with Jimmy include him and Tina Turner with a song Simply the best, with Sam Moore with a song Soothe me, with Marcia Hines (American born to Jamaican parents but moved to Australia at the age of 16 and stayed ever since) with a song called Fire and Rain, the guitarist here, Diesel with Since I fell for you (there is a version where they talk prior to singing if you want to hear his speaking voice), with Aussie band INXS singing Good Times that was a song in the movie called the Lost Boys and basically anything from his concert called Flesh & Wood where he literally sings with different guests. PS Jimmy’s brother is a singer too and his name is Swanee. He has some solo songs and was in a band called the Party Boys. His children can sing too, especially his daughter daughter Mahalia Barnes and son David Campbell. Happy listening…. He has been singing since the 70’s so there is a lot of material out there. PS - same goes for Johnny Farnham in the musical talent.
I just subbed to your channel, love watching your reaction to these guys, living in australia this is what I grew up listening to, both jimmy and john are much loved in this country and their voices are phenomenal, the guy on guitar is diesel, jimmy's brother in law.

I love this song and still flog the life out of it , originally bought it on Cassingle 👵🏼. Love this reaction so funny 🥰
We are both a very throaty, yet very nasal people what can I say😂 I think because we open our mouths so much when we enunciate vowels and stuff, it just shows in all of our singers especially the accents coming from this era, producing this sort of artist
I was one of the ladies that loved it. It was released as a single & I bought the single cassette to sing along to in the car (blaring). You may need to find out about cassettes.
Diesel's real name is Mark Lizotte.
The rabbit hole is long
Blues and soul have a long history in Australia. Jimmy was a great fan of Tina Turner. Check out Jimmy's duet with Tina on "Simply The Best"
Live version much better.. still never gets old.
😆😆😆
That blew your mind didn't it 😂😂😂
I’ve watched a lot of reactions on Jimmy Barnes, esp some singing professionals and made me understand how good his voice really really is 😊
If you want to hear a different side of John Farnham again - try "Burn for You" or even catch him singing the classic operatic "Grenada" in duet with Anthony Warlow.
That was a really great reaction Matt. Thanks mate. 😅😅😅
Jimmy Barnes silky smooth voice 😆😆, but then again, this was a blues rock ballard 👌. John's voice always melds well with anyone he sings with.
Haha I knew you’d get around to this one eventually. Great reaction…loved it.
So pleased you are hearing some Aussie talent ...we love these guys and obviously they love each other ! :)
DIESAL . Well loved here in Aus. A performer in his own right but has played with many bands. This is Brilliant.
I have to say that I watched your reaction to You're the voice. I can't even like or comment on it, but I really loved your reaction to that song. Your passion for music is very infectious. Love this reaction too. Much love from Queensland Australia 🦘💜
Loving your reactions!
You have to watch more Jimmy Barnes still going strong 💕
Great reaction. Most of us had our eyes fixed on you for your first reaction of Jimmy. We knew it would be classic. It was. As many have said Jimmy is a huge star in his own right and like John is legendary. Some great songs from Jimmy are Wild Thing, Bow River ( another great singer Ian Moss takes the lead, youll love it) and When the war is over. All brilliant.
Your reaction gave me goosebumps 👏🤗
Yeah, love Jimmy Barnes! ❤️ He's from Glasgow, and does rock, blues, ballads, he just sings and he does share his space! I recommended him to you! 😁👍 I knew you'd appreciate this, always wow! 😁👏 Everyone loves Jimmy, and John! 🤗 I recommend you check Vanessa Amarossi too! 👍
First!! So excited you’ve finally seen Jimmy!! I’ve just posted a bunch of clips I took of him in June at his concert (on my UA-cam channel) if you or anyone wants to see them!
Awesome to hear that he is still performing today!!
When did you start a UA-cam channel?
noice Kappy
@@cyclops92 😂 😂
@@Dr_KAP I'll have to go check it out, I thought I was being sheltered
Fantastic reaction to a great song.
Great voices! And all sitting down 🙌🏼 icons!
Always aways do live versions even better. Great reaction❤️🔥❤️🔥
Sure mum. But...I love this version...
Really enjoying your videos, thank you for such an uplift at the tired end of the day.
I just subbed to your channel, love watching your reaction to these guys, living in australia this is what I grew up listening to, both jimmy and john are much loved in this country and their voices are phenomenal, the guy on guitar is diesel, jimmy's brother in law.
Both these legends always much better live.
Awesome reaction. Thank you.
That much fun can only be had by two performers at the top of their game with endless mutual respect for each other. They are clearly good mates, makes it a joy to watch- apart from the awesome performances 🥰
I think Jimbo would be thrilled to have a Scottish reaction you should DM this link ! You can still hear his accent although Aussies will claim him as their own through and through . I love this song and still flog the life out of it , originally bought it on Cassingle 👵🏼. Love this reaction so funny 🥰
Jimmy and his family arrived in Australia when he was five years old in 1962.
We are both a very throaty, yet very nasal people what can I say😂
I think because we open our mouths so much when we enunciate vowels and stuff, it just shows in all of our singers especially the accents coming from this era, producing this sort of artist
As a Scottish born Australian I am loving your reaction to these two great singers from my vintage. I love to here the passion in your reaction.
All 3 are Masters of Song, just having a ball!
Oh yes! Everyone/most Australians know these 3 guys and this song and yes this song brings back great 90s vibes.
Three of the best right there. So glad you are reacting to these Aussie legends. You’re in for a treat if you play more of these three
I was one of the ladies that loved it. It was released as a single & I bought the single cassette to sing along to in the car (blaring). You may need to find out about cassettes. BTW John F was originally English, came out to Australia from Dagenham Essex when he was 10 like Barnsey did from Scotland. Diesal the guitarist is Jimmy's brother in law & writer & soloist as well.
John and Jimmy are long time best buddies.
I'd love to see your reaction to Jimmy Barnes singing "Stone Cold" (feat. Joe Bonamassa)
