Both products are based on GCvideo firmware so the quality should be the same as in your video shown :) The brightness/contrast levels are different. I think this could be configuration thing or based on the hardware they use.

Would you consider doing a video comparing the two with GBA games using a gameboy player? Have been debating picking these cables up for use with the gameboy player and a RetroTink-5x. Just don’t get the sharpness I want with a Carby (I use a Wii with component cables for GameCube games).
This is exactly my dilemma! I will only use my Gamecube for the player + Gameboy Interface. I will play actual GC games on my Wii using component cables to my CRT. Without a good component cable, games over GBI will be limited to S-video. Hoping to find a really good solution for this.
Hi, to use the gc component benifits for better compatiblity of GBI output, user needs use the "presets" from GBI. user can try the presets or copy one .cli then edit the .cli (text) files in pc. If using GBI GBIHF GBISR directly, the picture results are not the best.

Gamecube quality is slightly better, and you can play original GBA carts with the GBA interface on TV. with wii you will have to emulate. Wii is probably the best option for those who are not looking for the best way possible to play

It work with both without any problems. if you enable Progressive Scan in the game, it's going to set to 480p. Some games don't support 480p, but it can be forced using software called SWISS.
also with this cable you don't need additional cables. The official component cables from Nintendo do not have the audio cables, you need to also connect the standard composite cables for sound. This solution is all in one.
GC Video is a open source project, anyone can make GameCube component cables based on it. Even Bitfunx. Most of the products they clone aren't shipped outside the US, the only option from people from south America, Africa etc is to buy from Aliexpress, there's no other option, It might be wrong, but I don't judge them. The original creators also must create alternative options for these markets.
I keep hearing this from the "gaming community". Insurrection industries can't keep up, and they stopped making Carby. WTH you suppose we do? Pay triple and wait 3-6 months for everything? I want the 5x but my Q80R is a pristine bitch, It acts up with my mclassic. So excuuuussse me if I try the cheap shit too. 😝

I have both the official and bitfunx component cables. There is no obvious difference about picture quality. The official cable looks a bit bright.

Yes, it outputs audio from the same port.

As far as I know it doesn't have that GCVideo menu, only their HDMI adapter
