It's true what JB is saying. I started late in life on bulls. Man I was so blessed to get the best advice from a few NFR guys one in particular was a old school African American bull rider ( he was old school...he hung with tuffy) who told me
The guys who have made it and busted their asses will always lift you up and give you positive feedback and help, the bull shiters will put you down and never really help. I used that advice throughout life...even when I was out in sector in Iraq in a fire fight.
Same boat with me man. Currently active duty and riding bulls. Had some people tell me "I'm to old" to start since I'm 25. Seen dudes ride PBR at 40. If they can do it why not me
Love him, a very concrete man. Once in a while, at least there is one in the world.

well there are plenty of times watching motocross, guy crashes and the bike comes down and slams the shit out of them, just ask cole seely, he bike came back at him and shattered his pelvis and lots of other shit. Not the same as a live bull, i know but still a dirtbike will come back and get you

@@AboGabbal Each sport has it's extreme dangers. This isn't a pissing contest of who's stronger. It takes a type of crazy for both sports. A bull can't go 80mph, a dirtbike can't gore you. A bull is ALWAYS dangerous, but to get as injured on a dirtbike you have to be unlucky or stupid. So there is truth to what he says. Most guys who race aren't under any contracts as well. Myself included and i've racked up my fair share of injuries.

He is the toughest man to ride a bull. I watched him in Calgary he made the ride and got knocked out by the bull getting off. They carried him off unconscious and I swear everyone there thought the worst. He pulled through and made a quick recovery he must have been choked because he missed the big money day on Sunday that he qualified for handily

From what I have seen, JB is the goat. Many Riders ride the common Bulls that will get you points, But JB 's riders gets you Legendary Status. You want to be known to be the best, Ride the Best. No bull about it.
Why would anyone hate JB Mauney? Even if he’s not who you want to win, hate him? I don’t hate any of the bull riders. I pull for every rider that gets on a bull. I pray they don’t get hurt. My heart stops when one is laying motionless in the dirt surrounded by the medical staff. I love the boys from Brazil and Canada and Australia and the good ole US. Is JB my favorite, damn right but I don’t get the hate against any of these cowboys.
He is amazing, I'd love to meet him one day and ask him few questions about bull riding, I'd love to try it even for once. I have nothing but respect for this man.

my friend who’s a senior in hs has been riding bulls since he was 13 or 14 and a few weeks ago he retired from the rodeo business and not even two weeks later he said i’m back he’s currently training for a rodeo he actually met jb
Sorry to see him retire and the injury he suffered. No regrets. Hope he recovers. A true legend in my view.

I just want to register this with the greatest rider JB. #JBDBBulls #radiatorranch I just had a medial epicondylar fracture. My motorbike chased me along with nature in the form of a landslide. I'm 24 years of age, this yamaha engine is the 6th I own. My family had to go through a lot with me falling after 100 thousand kilometers of riding. Watching JB makes me feel, how little my problems are. My motorbike had a manmade brain, these guys ride on natural brain functioning against them. I'm on my way to a faster than anticipated rehab. I had a leg injury as well, Had to invest in an extraordinary pair of shoes and its healed already. #positivevibes JB nailed the intro, #oldsonofagun. Lots of love. Keep the videos coming.

When he does not ride , I immediately lose interest in watching the others. ( I still watch but it’s not as exciting).

It's not pain anymore. Inconvenience, uncomfortable. Being so used to pain, it becomes mental, a state of mind. And learned from my last shoulder surgery. I told the Surgeon it does hurt a little, admittedly. Doctor told me I was in a lot of pain, and most human beings cannot tolerate the level of pain I was in. The pain receptacles are no longer sending the full report of the pain and are numbed up from being used to pain. Was told my brain deals with it differently. Dr. said I was in pain, but just dealt with it different. Riding bulls is a sick thing if you think about it. So addicted to that euphoric high one is trying to obtain week in, and week out, that it would be like what a drug addict (I think, don't really know other that what is seen on T.V.) goes through. No thoughts of what you are doing to your body or the capacity to care even though you know something is just not right happening. Riding bulls is a beautiful thing. It's an amazing thing. A special thing only a handful out of Billions and Billions of people get the gift and opportunity to do.

As kids we used to ride my uncles beef cattle, he would get pissed at us when he would catch us, he had some mean bulls we use to tease then run to the pond and swim out to escape them, I knew then , no way would I get on those bulls backs.

What strikes me about bull riders is that most of them can't move like a normal person (anymore).
Just look at Mauney's shoulders at 4:02, that's not normal.
Basically, he's destroying his body and likely will end up in a wheelchair with chronic pain. If he survives this "sport", that is.
