Cody, This is a great first video!! It was really good to hear your take on the Lollar Imperials!! I also really enjoyed how you weren't afraid to bring on the noise in stacking the pedals!! Very well done!!
Thank you Spencer !
Hey all ! Super sorry for the lack of content and interaction ! Got locked out of my account for sometime follow the new account under this comments profile for new videos coming soon !
Great demo, and great playing!
Hey young brother! Really nice demo that was super informative. I like that you broke it down by pickup combinations, all the pedal and guitar settings Etc.
You're right about Lollar pickups, I don't think you can go wrong regardless of the set.
I've got a Korean made Epiphone 335 that I yarded out all the guts and installed the Lollar Imperials, Sprague Vitamin Q tone caps and CTS audio taper pots with period correct, meaning 1950s wiring harness.
I've owned Gibson ES-335 Gibson es-339 guitars and love them but I have to tell you this Epiphone 335 with all the changes I made to it is as good if not better than those Gibson's!
There's something about the Lollar's that sometimes might not transcend in terms of sound but definitely in terms of touch sensitivity and feeling.
So I'm into this guitar for $625 and that includes the $200 that's been purchasing the guitar! That is a hell of a lot of bang for the buck considering you really can't get a decent 335 for under $2,000.
Anyway, thanks again for the upload and I have subscribed and will be looking forward to your next project! Jim from Seattle
Thanks Jim ! New content coming soon ! Cheers !
Good video Cody! Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much !
Great video; thanks! How well do the Imperial Standards do hard rock? I’m trying to understand the tonal differences between the standard and high wound versions of the pickups. My challenge is that on any given day I could be listening to and playing BB/Freddie King to Brit blues rock (think Cream/Zeppelin etc) to GnR/Metallica/Alice in Chains. Which versions would you go with? Thanks again... I have been watching Lollar demos all night; yours are by far the “most real and honest” that I encountered.
Thanks so much & sorry for such a late reply ! I think for the most diversity the imperial standards with a few pedals and your tone/volume knobs will help you achieve most anything you can be doing ! Cheers !
Good video, particularly for your first effort! I think you might have spent some time with open string chords and I'd fix that switch. Doesn't it drive you crazy with the reverse pickup order? Anyway, I do love the clarity of the Lollars and have been thinking about changing my current Les Paul pickups. Thanks for your thoroughness. Good sounds.
Thank you ! I was able to get used to the reverse order pretty quickly, with how nice the lollars are it was hard to notice when I started playing !
OK good to know I'm not crazy in wanting to replace the BB's in my identical guitar (2019HCS) Love mine 8.4 lbs but a bit more faded/subtle wide flame So I have an old set of 57 Classics out of a 97 Historic R9 that I prefer to the BB's but am considering WCR or Bare Knuckle Mules Thanks for the validation lol Actually surprised they didn't load the 57's stock in the 50's model Nice gear choice's Man
Thank you !
Thanks for the demo. Just to be clear: these are standard Imperials and not the low wind?
Correct !
Fantastic first video! Good information and demonstration. Keep them coming!
Very smart chords!🤣🤣🤣
Hi Cody, nice demo. Just wondering do you have any videos/clips of the 335? Thinking of putting the same Lollar combo in a HH Strat. Thanks
Hi Richard ! I have clips on my instagram (link in description) of my 335 in action! I'll try to get a video featuring the 335 and that set going ! I don't think there's a wrong choice in pickups from what Lollar offers !
@@codyhoopengardnerguitar635 Thanks - that would be great! Completely agree. From what I've heard all their pickups sound beautiful!
@@rdb9936 Absolutely ! All my guitars have them and I couldn't be happier with the sound and clarity they offer. I just acquired a new tele recently and my only complaint is that they still need Lollars installed !
@@rdb9936 Just uploaded a video on the lollars in the 335 ! Hope you enjoy !
low winds on my sg is untouchable. I want to put them in my les paul
What type of music are you playing with them? Still using them?
@Sarge978 I ended up putting them in my les paul after all. I have a 7 to 8 piece latin soul funk band .. think James Brown meets Santana meets Tower of Power. So very heavy rhythmically and solos have to cut trig the mix. Love the low winds. Like a Tele on roids
that amp is too nasally
