- Video compilation featuring ambulances of the Kyoto fire department responding in downtown as well as some police cars. Japanese ambulances are equipped with a hi-lo two tone as well as a wail siren and usually the crews make PA annoucements to the other drivers. This is very common in Japan, the purpose is to let the people know how they have to react and which way the emergency vehicle is going to take //

I love how polite the Japanese are, the man working traffic at 4:31 bowed to the drivers he had stopped. Haha.
Such a beautiful sight. When I see an Japanese emergency vehicle I feel relieved. The sirens sound so friendly but scary too. I wanna go Japan XD!
Their ambulance looks so futuristic. Then again, they are about 10 years ahead of us or so =P
I was actually looking at them and thinking they kinda looked like 3rd world country ambulances like this was Taiwan or something
I didn't think a third world country could even run something like this.
Steven Pivornik it really doesn’t. UK ambulances look 10 times better. These ambulance vans look too small to be of any use. In one clip there’s 3 people in the ambulance and the person driving is wearing sterile gloves to drive which is considered poor practice.
@@E3guyy Look again, have you even seen those sirens? They are halogen and are extremely expensive.
They are small since many streets in Japan are narrower than the roads you can find in the US. And they also take account the height and stature of a common Japanese. So yes, there's a reason why it is small.
5:03 "Please note that you will turn left." 6:33 "Please note that you will turn right." 7:38 "Ambulance passes,Please be careful."
Ambulance service is free in Japan and people call them for everything but they are required to use lights and sirens for each call. No point of reckless driving for a minor call.
Really? Free ambulance service in Japan? Here in America, people get billed after getting an ambulance ride to the hospital.
@@CommissionerLawWonder86It's actually free or covered by insurance almost everywhere except the US
@@CommissionerLawWonder86and In Malaysia the Malaysian Ministry of Health have their own ambulance, clinics and hospital and these are the government one not private own, which mean ambulance is free, payment for clinic is 1 ringgit or which for you guys feels like 1 dollar, and hospital bill are mostly covered by them but there's still payment for that as well, ministry of health are the most popular hospital clinics and ambulance and virtually everywhere in the country the ambulance are cream colour and have KKM on it and hospital or clinic that are government have the name place as the name example : Hospital Ampang
explains why some of them were going very slow
"If I die because someone was driving about 10 to 15 MPH, that would be O.K." Said no one ever... lol
***** Good enough for me!
I go faster with bicycle, than a japanese ambulance car...
so true
???
why are they in no rush to get to the injured person?
idk
+altispinex86 safety reason. how many american ambulances that crash because they are way too fast, or even russian that always make a crash everyday.
1:19〜 Very nice !
Nice video Dirk.
Can't wait to take a tour of a fire house when I visit Kyoto
Nice lights!
0:16 S15 On point 🤣
God damn I get annoyed by the slow speed they are driving. Goddamnit man DRIVE for fucks sake
You do realize that because of the space issues in Japan driving fast is not recommended, even if the road seems clear in the blink of an eye it could get packed there for a slow speed is needed
As seen on the footage I still find it Bs
You find what you want but in truth we could use some Japanese mannerisms over in America and You Know It
Does all the ambulances in Japan belong to the fire dept or do they have some private ambulance services like in America?
They have some private hospitals with ambulances too.
Heh, It's the ambulance you hear when you crash in Stunt Race FX.
In Japan, even the siren sounds are soothing, and their driving is very polite
Ambulances in my country probably drive double the speed.
Nice light bars
i think there LEDs
Rapid response from those
Klasse du Weltenbummler :=)
Does any one have an translation of the PA system, and do any other countries use this system?
*****
all Traffic directional announcements and siren of this style of ambulance should be mandatory in America.
America fatties use it and go
Move out the way bitches!
Other countries, they do have the PA system but using thier own voice
sounds like a flute
Yeah
A cute flute lol
Yep. Can't say no to that.
Hey dude your video s are awesome!
+Super Trini Gamer Who, Me?
yes u :D
They take it seriously easy.
The sirens even sound kawaii 4:31
This nice, to call an Ambulance is in the mostly countries of the European Union free too.
But in cities normally more as one car / apparatus is called.
Why go so slow? You wouldn't see ambulance drivers in the US going slow at all.
Well they still get there in a timely matter xD
+Devin Mitchell (Evoac162) sometimes you have really bad injured people on the ambulance and some countries already do surgery inside the ambulance so thats why sometimes they go slow, so the docs in the back can work it out! Anothr chance is that the injure are so bad that they cant really go fast because the person can get hurt
+Devin Mitchell (Evoac162) I can confirm that all around in Japan ambulances go very very slowly.
+Devin Mitchell Right. Why do the ambulances go so slow?
+aliennz zillaz they where going out of station so they didnt have a patient
I guess they drive slowly, because it is a big city with lots of traffic. I mean there are easily 5 or 6 lanes and huge junctions. Going over it very quickly and traffic comes from the side and crash. It actually makes sense for them to drive a bit more carefully, rather than to risk it.
I could actually fall asleep listening to this weird siren on the ambulances but I know it's saying get out the way 😀
I find it funny that every vehicle in Japan is square
Gabe Daignault
A
Their roads are narrow so they make boxy cars that can fit in an alleyway.
You do forget that in every city not starts only one car to an emercency. So it's better drive save as fast with accident! This is in European Union not difference.
this is the Doppler Effect
Also geht Sicherheit vor Schnelligkeit!
The only thing I like about their ambulance are the Emergency Lights. Especially the first ambulance. Where did they buy those lights? Do they come in a Red and Blue combination?
Cool video but the hi low sound is reely aweful !
This video has mostly ambulances.
no rush...wow
Im pretty sure its because no one stops for emergency vehicles at intersections, or pulls over.
The first ambulance is a toyota hiace
0:15 Nissan Silva S15😍😍😍😍😍
wailer as an bullhorn? that will get your attention, unlike those one tone.
I hope they understand.
The wail tone on some of them sounds like a Q.
They sound like Electric Guitars lol
Guitar harmonics
2:35 headphone lights on back of rettungswagen
xd
@ TATSU Y , Exactly some patient's need to be brought in carefully and most of the people complaining about the speed really do not know who is inside and need to stop whining
1:18
i dont think that there is a patient in it :D
their defibrillators are only 500gms. lifespak 15 are around 8 kg. I would be happy for a swap
How is the ambulance in the first clip even normal
is it safe to say this is a classic ambulance?
dirk you went to japan! how was it?
yup
Its more of the Traffic Directional announcements and the siren type that should be mandatory in America
Huh, I never knew ambulances in Japan can have a fire truck siren.
The wailing siren is actually used by nearly every emergency vehicle. The dual-tone sirens are for smaller vehicles/some ambulances.
In Chicago, they use the same EQ2B sirens heard from most American Fire Trucks.
These ambulance drivers looks scary with the masks on plus the siren tho lol
I'm assuming the reason why the paramedics were wearing masks was because there are some medical emergencies where there are infectious diseases. And what with COVID still being a thing, though not as bad as in 2020, I can see their point.
Largest bus is neoplan tourliner and neoplan skyliner
why do they drive so slowly, is there a stringent speed law on ambulances in japan? like I get the intersections but sometimes it looks like straight open space and they're still going nearly the same pace as other people on the road.
People might have spinal injury so that is why they drive slow
@@theathomas2465 what?? how does that make sense, they arent transporting people not knowing whats wrong, they very much know if somebody is suffering a spinal injury or not. they arent showing up to heart attacks and going "but wait, lets drive slow this person may have a spinal injury!"
5:45 wtf where are head lights and tail light man I am scared Japanese drivers
they are VERY SLOW. i wouldnt call them, drive myself qiucker
It's better than nothing
Some patient must brought carefully,
Aurelijus Paulauskas some of the patient, get their sugery in the van.....so if the driver go faster, the patient would get hurt
The Dutch Factor true that
If you go to 3:24 the ambulance almost got crushed by a truck, this is the reason they drive slow.
Aww man, i don't want to be Kira Yoshikage right now..
This give me nightmares if I were him..
3:53 Ghos Busters ;)
Who u gonna call. 911.
yeah, SWAT are ghostbusters
3:52 nearly Ghostbusters!
Sounds like link blowing into ocarina
Do they always drive so slowly like in this video?
Possible IO do not understand you correctly. Do you never see that an Emercency is finish or that they send more as one aparatus to an emercency? So - what you say then to the driver then? Drive back fast with full speed?
This weird sirene and the soft alarm sound. Sure its not a alarmclock on wheels?!
That ambulance top speed? 30km/h?
Dirk was that a711 at 0:58
Are those ambulances made by Toyota?
RBPL1 yes
Ambulance Siren in Kyoto, Japan
sounds like a flute
technically it is
Alarm For Earthquake Injury!!!
It's sad how they have to drive so slow.
Not confirmed, but I'm told it's because so many people dive out in front of them to commit suicide just like how they have to have special ambulance sirens so as to not depress people into killing themselves
حلو
Apparently they drive super slow because they can do surgery in the back of the ambulance.
LOL 0:08 - 0:25 : FAST 'N FURIOUS - Fight For Life :DDD
sounds weak-siren (ambulance) it is the same as on the Ice Cream Truck :-)
They do that deliberately to reduce depression in ares with frequent emergencies. Suicide is a big problem in Japan as it is.
Did you just make that up?
No.
Flemming Hansen its the same 2 tone as Europe
Flemming Hansen lol
The sirens really do match their driving.
0:01 Ah yes, the Nissan Paramedic Concept.
WHAT THE DUCK I MISTOOK A HIMEDIC FOR A PARAMEDIC I SWEAR TO GOD
@@rihanm.sgoogleaccount4462 It's also a Toyota, not a Nissan.
0:16 Just spotted A Nissan Silva S15 🤣🤣🤣
Yep
You reversed the word tokyo
3:24 truck almost took out the ambulance!!
RenegadeChauffeur thats why they dont drive fast
Not 911 is 119 China 120
WHAT KIND OF EMERGENCY SERVICE VEHICLE USES TURN SIGNALS TO GET TO A CALL?! AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR DAT.
Sounds like a European siren.
Hello police
This Sound is creepy af
They all look similar until 3:47
Because, that vehicle ain't an ambulance.
Cherylb21 ambulance girl penny
Do they always wear masks on calls?
I don't really know much of Japan, but i would figure, cause they don't want bacteria to attach them and thus get sick.
By the time they get there the patient would be dead or near death or in serious critical pain wtf with the speed I mean hell I could get there faster by cutting through short cuts in the city on foot ffs
