    Dave, You're like the father I never had. I don't agree with you on everything but I know your advice is sound. After 3 months of watching your videos, all I have to say is Thanks for knocking some sense into me. Its funny how a video on UA-cam can actually change your life.

      Same. Just so happened to come across Dave Ramsey 4 months ago, and something just clicked. It got me out of the conventional consumerism mentality and it has honestly even made me a better husband. Great thing I found Ramsey a year into our marriage at 25 and not at 35 with accumulated piles of debt!

    I am flat broke but I'm not in Debt. Working on getting a Career worth having and at the same time build up a savings plan. I had the Ideas your portraying but couldn't quite get a plan put together not knowing where to start. You helped get that direction. Now I have a savings (not $1,000 yet but a good start) and its building fast. Getting rid of the debt was the first step. Financial freedom is awesome. Wish I would have known who you were in 2007. I would be rich and not at $100.00 in savings and my house would be payed off. I was not taught how to manage money as a kid and X wife Bankrupt me. NEVER AGAIN!! Thanks Dave Ramsey.

      Ted Graham Have you ever considered that most people are hearing this information for the first time? Lots of us didn't grow up with an understanding of finances because our parents didn't know. Why are we all in debt? Why do you think he has 8 million followers on Facebook & Twitter? Why do you think his show is the top show on iheart radio? People are hungry for information. He is providing hope to millions of us. If you don't need this information, why do you care what he is trying to teach us? Thank goodness he is available and teaching this stuff for free. Since you are already a millionaire, let us have the opportunity to become one.

      Hearing for the first time that if you pay your bills off then you can get out of debt? Seriously? It's kind of an insult when you think about it. Like if you want to go outside you must first open the door.

    Believe it or not, this actually helped me feel better about a conscious decision to go back into debt. After paying off our debt, we learned our 10 yr old son has a serious medical condition. Doctors he'll need are not covered by insurance. However, by helping him, I am RADICALLY changing my family tree. I was feeling so defeated. But now, I know how to minimize it, & how to plan to repay it. Thanks Dave.

    I have been listenting to you since yesterday (1/26/15)....very nice, down-to-earth, practical advice for people. Some of the things you have said, we have been doing in our family for quite some time. We hate debt. We talk about whether we need something before buying. It's all about living within ones own means.........whether it is $30K.......$100K.......or $500K....and keeping money aside for savings, investments, too. And it is also about increasing ones means with work, education, etc.
    I like your videos.....just subscribed.

      Marie Ji , hi there. I learned to save from when I was a little girl. In church, they showed me how to set aside 10% of any $$ I'd get. I would receive 1 dollar from uncles & I still saved the 10%. So I definitely learned to save & budget until I was with my ex husband. He taught me a different Habit. To live & spend now cuz we may die today. it worked for a while till we went broke. I'm having a hard time regaining my lost skills that I had from before. I left him & regaining myself & my self worth. My problem is now I keep bumping into people that wanna take my $$ away from me, like a curse or something cuz I know how to work & save but I just don't get it. I'm like a turtle now all scared of meeting individuals. Not Cool.

    I always lived paycheck to paycheck and getting myself in small debts, borrowing money and what not. Working only to pay and paying to work. But, last year i told God, i said, Lord, im going to be honest with you. I am tired of living like this, but i cannot change. unless you interve inmy life and allow something to happen to make me hit rock bottom, i will not be able to break this cycle in my life. Soon after that, he sure did intervene. I went through a tremendous debt, that forced me to budget. My 9yo also had to learn to budget. I can say one year later my mindset is much different and so is my son’s. 2 months ago, i started listening to Dave Ramsey almost all day everyday. My son would say, mom you are listening to him agaain?? 😂 i said, baby this man will help us get out of debt and get us a place of our own next year. Lol Today, i have found the courage to leave my toxic job, found a higher paying job that will help me get out if debt within my goal and end the year with savings. and i have dreams and visions for the future that involve being smart with money. Thanks to God and Mr. Ramsey.

Basically to me he is saying make wiser decisions, get out of debt stop being gullible, stop signing your life away and be simply Smarter with your money.

    it's okay if you don't care to listen to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, or Glenn Beck, but for goodness sake at least listen to the word of Dave Ramsey! now that's talk radio that matters. Winning is 80% behavior, 20% knowledge. We need to get more people on board with his program.

      We don't need anybody running our lives and property. How about we stop propping up politicians over others to begin with?!? Why do you think you need a political master? That's the real problem, everybody believes in rulers and that we need people to control us.

    I agree with just about everything Dave Ramsey says. The only thing that I ever hear him talk about that I can't agree with is how if you smile, work hard, and show up to work early and have a good work ethic then you'll get a promotion. I'd like to know what company he talks about cause at my company being a brown noser is what gets you to move up. I'd say in my company that probably only about 15% of all managers actually worked to get to that position and are good managers. We have very little leaders and mostly bosses. They treat their employees like they are inferior to them. Many have a a huge turnover rate of good employees because they don't treat others well. Even when everyone can see what a bad manager someone is, they are still kept in that position. Work ethic has nothing to do with anything. Dave Ramsey may treat his employees well and put them in positions that deserve and work for, but he needs to realize that he is in the very small minority of companies that are like that.

      Here's my story- I'm 26 (single), live at home and have a B.S. in Political Science, minors in Sociology and Communication studies from ASU. I'm 3/4th of the way to being a lawyer my family says. I would love to be a lawyer, but are scared to the dickens of that potential massive debt that I will need to get. I have just a shade over 37k in debt (9,500 in student loan debt, 11,500 in credit cards and 16,200 left on a car that the payments I had refinanced through a credit union)but I would be looking at least 100k+ if I get a student loan to go to law school. My dad says borrowing is a way of life, that once you get a great job, you can pay off the debt while still living a comfortable life. -.- He's dangling carrots such as lowering my rent and paying the application fee for the lsat exam as control mechanisms. I told my dad I was looking to getting a part time job in order to start my emergency fund. I will use whatever I get for my tax return in my emergency fund, then baby step 2. But no, my dad believes that a part time job is a quick fix. -.-
      Believe me I want to study to be a lawyer but the prospects of taking out that much in student loans scares me. I do not want to let that dominate my life. I'm not sure what else to do. Any advice would be much appreciated.

    • @Allaiya.
      @Allaiya. 8 років тому +3

      +Galbert-Kun . Lawyer is a good career but from what I've read, jobs are now a lot harder to come by for new grads. I think it depends on the law school you go to also. I wouldn't go to an expensive private, not highly ranked, law school. Just research it a bunch before committing to anything.
      And don't let your parents pressure you too much. My parents wanted me to go to undergrad when I didn't know what I wanted to do & all I ended up getting was 50k in student loans (thankfully now paid off). Now they're trying to tell me to get a house before saving up a 20% down payment. Sometimes parent's don't know what's best.

      @GalbertKun 8 років тому +1

      Allaiya Congrats on paying off the student loans! Thank you for your words of encouragement. I feel that my parents want me to satisfy their agenda and both do not understand what my true passion is. I feel I can be a great lawyer, but I want to do it on my terms and cashflow school.

      In my experience, he's correct. It won't happen in one week though. People who are positive, easy to get along with and polite will always be promoted. Obviously you need to be competent, but trust me, to be liked at work is a very, very powerful thing indeed. Be everyone's friend.
