The problem with all the anti-dei garbage is that it’s entirely ignorant. The example MAGATs use is with doctors, but doctors are already a diverse field. DEI jobs are often entry level or middle management. Areas that aren’t life or death. But positions that require a level of competence to do the job, so to even qualify for being a DEI hire, they have to be able to do the job. So they aren’t “flat tires”
People who feel the need to physically threaten others, even if it's just hyperbole, over differences in opinion are small, shallow people who have to resort to that because they're not capable of rational, reasoned discourse. Fek those people. And the horse they road in on.
So you'll have the opinion that you should permanently cut off loved ones that have a different political opinion but you think it's dumb for people to slap each other over having a different political opinion? Permanently cutting people off isn't viewed as worse than someone slapping someone?
I feel like 1) 'you shouldn't keep people who will actively vote for harm to you and/or your loved ones in your life' - which is what 'having different political opinions' means in this case - and 2) 'people shouldn't physically assault other people as a means of political trash-talk' isn't actually the huge ethical contradiction you seem to think it is, hey. Like, "Nur you say don't support toxic dickheads AND also don't beat people up as a standard means of political expression, what a HYPOCRITE" doesn't exactly hold up under even the slightest scrutiny, you know?

If anything, my stupid bias has gotten so aggressive the last eight years its bordering on a hate crime.
