WV Medicaid recipient here. I would need a hefty 5-figure raise to afford all of my medications. The GOP wants me, and people like me, *dead*. They may finally get it. They'll happily sacrifice as many lowborn as necessary to get tax abolition for the congealing aristocracy.
I’m so sorry, but I think you’re right. I hope you outfox them, live long, and prosper in spite of it all. 🧡
We all have to die, but we don't all have to die alone.
Sadly, we've been deemed expendable people by the new oligarchy. I am so sorry. I, too, am on that list.
That's part of the fascist "plan" to "purify the race".
Are they going to allocate funds for digging the mass graves?
Or are they just going to force construction companies to do the work "gratis"?
Honestly, a lot of people (including children) are going to die…. Some are going to do extreme things before they pass away . God bless the poor souls.
This is what happens when you elect billionaires who think of us as ants... annoying, useless ants.
Lets hope they have an allergy to stings.
What is going to sustain the billionaires when the "annoying, useless ants" are gone?
Have any of the "geniuses", that believe that they are worth hundreds/thousands of times what "ants" are worth, thought of that? Or are they just going to wait for the food riots to "sort things out"?
But they still want babies born for low pay workers.
Not ants, slaves.
Funnt thing is all of this was written out in project 2025. They been planning on doing this.
Well of course GOP wants to do this , how else can they pay for massive tax breaks for the RICH?

It's sad how many regular Americans are all about getting rid of Obamacare, yet have insurance through the affordable care act
It even sadder that the ACA have been around for 15 years and people who use them in red start don't even know that Obamacare is another name for the ACA.
Uneducated, blindly follow one news outlet. They will only learn when they feel the hurt. So pathetic. Their stupidity will harm everyone. Maybe Americans can rise from the destruction and actually make meaningful changes. Big hope..
Yes. They love the ACA but despise Obamacare. That was established when they went after the program the 1st time. Why not tax the very wealthy?

I often say to folks, think about the American priorities these days. 'We couldn't possibly afford to feed children a free and healthy school lunch nationwide, or otherwise fund food assistance for needy children. However, we must fund tax write-off dinners and trips even remotely associated with business discussions. I mean we can afford to feed fat cat corporate leaders through public money, but not kids.'. It exists because we keep sparing wealthy people from paying their share of taxes. That isn't going away under Trump. It's only getting worse. The ACA is used by FAR more than just low income people. It is used by MANY self-employed, retired under 65 and small business employees. It is the ONLY way for people in these categories with pre-existing conditions (diabetes, asthma, heart disease, COPD, etc, etc) to get coverage for their life-saving meds & treatments.
I'm employed by a ultra small business and the ACA has been the only way I can afford any health insurance since my employer doesn't offer insurance. My premiums were heading towards over half my paycheck for catastrophic coverage before the ACA gave me subsidies to drop my premium to something I can afford. It covers one basic wellness exam each year and a small portion of other medical expenses, but it also prevents being denied coverage for any pre-existing condition. Without the ACA I will have no insurance.
ACA also requires companies to cover pre-existing conditions and allows young adults to stay on parents’ insurance
It also makes all Well Baby visits with zero copay possible, and that goes for everyone, no matter if they have insurance benefits from an employer or not. The same goes with anyone's Annual Wellness Visit. The whole point is to encourage people to stay on top of their health so if something scary does come up, things are caught earlier on and things are more treatable and less expensive for everyone (government & patients) because the level of care needed won't be as extreme as waiting to start figuring out what wrong in the ER. The same concept applies to that noise the car has been making for a while, but if there is not a lot of money in the budget for an auto repair right now... it might be ignored for longer. Then the check engine light goes on... but will it be covered under warranty? Is there even a warranty anymore? If a claim is filed, is there a higher deductible just to figure out what's wrong? Will the premiums go up? So, the car noise is getting worse, the light is on, but it's still being ignored. One day... the car goes, "Nope!" Now, not only does the problem have to be addressed, like it or not, but it is likely a way more expensive repair than if it had been checked out early. ACA law makes the early/yearly check-up free to help avoid the human equivalent of this car problem scenario.
It's saved my family & friends on a ton of heartaches and expenses since signed into law.
Midterms are 2 years away... but we need to get working on it now (if now sooner 😉).

One thing people miss is that rural hospitals are affected by this. Low reimbursement rates of Medicare & Medicaid make it really hard for rural hospitals to stay afloat, since a large percentage of their population have these programs for their healthcare. More rural hospitals may close if this happens. When people delay healthcare because of high deductibles or lack of insurance, it costs way more to treat them when they end up in the emergency room. Which puts the financial burden on the hospitals, as they have to treat them whether they can pay or not. It’s just not efficient, or humane. If a hospital goes down, it’s terrible for the community. Jobs are lost, the economy of the community is threatened and maternal mortality shoots up, to name a few things.
Yet they still vote Republican
They closed the little rural Urgent Care/ER where I live during Covid. It was the only "hospital" for the area, now people have to go 20+ miles in any direction. Gotta call an ambulance 🚑
Medicaid is also the largest payer to nursing homes in the country. That's a whole industry facing collapse.
My family is in a Blue state but on Medicare and Medicaid and Social Security. Both are disabled. I'm so tired already, but a lot of this sounds like the standard methods to gut the program but not end it entirely. The game has to be played to keep the benefits. It's maddening. I never ever want to hear that we're the wealthiest nation on earth again because if that was true the way they mean it, health care would be totally covered and free as a human right.
I'm sorry that you and your family are going through this!!!

One of my friends relies on SNAP for his food here in Alabama. The state requires him to re-verify his information not once but twice a year. The form gives a 10-day period (from Jan. 1-10, or July 1-10) to respond, and the county DHS claims to mail it on the 25th-27th of the previous month, but he never gets the mailing until at least the 14th -- as happened this month. The envelope doesn't have a postmark on it, so there's no way of telling when it was actually sent -- but I guarantee you it does not take nearly 20 days for any properly-addressed piece of mail to move from one place within this state to another. We even live in the same city that houses the county's DHS office. Just another red-state tactic aimed at denying benefits to those who actually need them. He's eventually able to get signed back onto the benefits, but the deliberately-late mailing forces him to go visit the office in person every time this happens.

My brother-in-law was on Medicaid after he turned 60. He did work but could not afford his medicines and medical care. When he died, his estate was required to pay back Medicaid. This is not unusual. Seniors on Medicaid often have what little assets they may have left, go to pay Medicaid after they die. So I wonder if Republicans take this into account when they complain about the high cost of Medicaid.
This is why unions would be a better option, with a union, walmart employees wouldn't need the benefits, because 40 hours of work would equal a paycheck that would cover basic bills, food, and retirement. With more people getting a paycheck that was livable, there would be less homelessnes, because working folks could afford houses, and rich people would have less profits to play with and buy up housing.
Even with a union, it's still a need for Medicaid, the insurance offered by the company doesn't cover as much.

I keep explaining this to my wealthy father - the poorer we are at the bottom, the less money we have to buy things, and that means the bottom falls out of the economy and it collapses. Short-term greed may work for him for a little while but if this country falls apart, so will everything he worked for.
All of his investments are in his own company, and it's dependent on the middle and lower classes.
The corpse of John H. Patterson is spinning a million mph.
Filling out my social security application online as I listen. Only 65 1/2 and should work until 66 and 10 months but I don't trust these people. So I'll take what I can get sooner than later
I started SS at 62 five years ago (full retirement age 66 +10 months). To date, I have almost collected my total lifetime contributions (not including employer match) - 8 more months before I get it all back. As far as I'm concerned, it was an interest-free loan to the government. I don't imagine I'll ever see those employer-matches.
@@WBS001 I'm going to start mine soon at 63. I'm too physically used up to keep working as "general labor".
Smart move!!!
Congress has the responsibility of providing for the general welfare of the people, this seems like they are providing for the general “harm” of the people. Oh and corporations aren’t people despite citizens united ruling
I hope MAGA likes living with MAMA.
I hope that when MAGA moves back home to mama that they're willing to care for her in the absence of all monetary and medical aid that she used to have.
It was cool back when we were a first world country. The decline is hard to take.
Austerity reduces economic growth. Austerity plus tax cuts is like cutting the family budget and then asking for a pay cut at work.
Ugh. This is gonna hurt everyone, but Im so glad I live in California.
I'm on Social Security. The reason? I'm a bipolar-bear. Without the medication that keeps me reasonably calm and functional, a bad one. Right now, I work part-time, within the limits, so I don't think I'd have a problem making work-requirements, but not everyone who is disabled has that luxury. (I can't handle the anxiety of full-timing, and it seems even part-timing I never keep a job more than 2 years because of the symptoms of my disorder being the kind of thing that bosses and workplaces rarely can put up with for long when I get things really bad).
I mean... I genuinely worry that without my medication, that protest will be the LEAST of their worries from people like me. (I am building social bonds and mental tactics for not getting suicidal again). I'm actually afraid of how seriously nuts I get when I'm riding a mania.
France raised their retirement age from 65 to 67 and they marched in the streets and shut the whole country down.
We need this kind of energy, here. And if you're one of those people who side with the people late for work crowd, think about all those people in the 60s. Imagine saying, its too bad blacks didn't get civil or voting rights, but at least all those commuters didn't get stuck behind a street full of protesters exercising their rights.
In France citizens are listened to when they March. In the US look at how many peaceful marches had police coming out with water canons, bean bag guns, canisters of tear gas, and then hunting people down later to arrest anyone filming.
I remember when my state tried to get rid of public service unions. Citizens came out and voted down the move and supported officers who now turn on us with impunity.
A country-wide strike would result in masses having their job-dependent insurance cancelled, that's why we don't have M4A.
France has universal health care that's not dependent on employment/monthly fees and their PTO doesn't have to be scheduled months in advance. Everybody had the option of calling in a day off.
@TheVeggiekat It's even worse. Now they use tech shared by the FBI to track activists' locations & interactions via our smartphones. But it's still a numbers game. Like the ants vs The crickets in A Bug's Life. Once we stop fighting ourselves over culture war b.s. and team up to fight the class war...
@thomasbraeking6225 so just give up? Let the dystopian novel bad guys win? What does it matter if they cancel our insurance when we'll mostly be priced out of our policies in a few years anyway?
I will not be silent!!! I will not go away!!! I AM THE RESISTANCE!!!
One of your more important videos...
Hopefully they have the brains to understand that not ticking off their voters is more important than keeping a promise. 🤦♂️
The state of Tennessee already has a work requirement clause. And if a person is single with no depends, that person has to renew or sign up again every 3 months. Just some information to pass on.
I work in grocery and my store sees a lot of poor and elderly fixed-income folks. This would really hurt them -- if they lived in a red state. Sadly, a vast majority of these same people voted against their own benefits. Unfortunately, we all have to live with their choices now.
Thanks Belle! All of this "simple stuff" that really does need explaining really wears... Big hugs! Keep up the great work and ask Beau to rub your shoulders every so often... (just an old married dude reminding you that you guys are human :)
Thanks for the conversation today.
Yet, they all seem ok spending 60k per person a year to imprison everyone.
If they imprison someone, they have to provide clothes (prison overalls), food, shelter, heat, medical care, the building and guards, which is 100x more expensive than helping people so they don't have to turn to crime to eat, but, what do I know?
They get free labor, and they can trade stocks off of how many people they can get imprisoned. It's a big business too. America imprisons more people than any other country and we are one of the smallest countries in the world. We aren't so free. And btw that stuff they are supposed to have to provide the prisoners, they give them the bare, bare minimum to the point of neglect because it eats into their profits. If you watch any documentaries on America's Prison Industrial Complex it will depress you!
Yes, because all the for-profit prisons benefit the very wealthy who own the facilities. And many of those prisons have built-in indentured servants who will work for (literal) pennies! It's win-win for the prison-owners.
To be clear: a steady, full time job with benefits that let me live alone in a studio and save money just last year was 20k a year. So this will impact people with "real jobs" just as much as struggling people.
That's me! I'm internet people!
is that case, howdy there internet person 🤣
Don’t forget the pre-k head start programs that help with child care.
A lot of my friends don't need SSI benefits or Medicare. I and other of my friends do. Any chance of a grey wave. I mean, we made a lot of progress in the 60s and 70s. I guess it's time to get back in shape.
Thank You Belle and Team for the News Highlights and Observations of The trump🤡 reign to cutting the Needy to Keep the Rich💰 Rich 💰.
In SD the state raised the poverty line. And made having Medicaid if you have Medicare illegal.

Im disabled; amputee and head injury, also autistic and have HIV. I doubt I’ll be here for the next election if there is one. All I ask is I hope people remember people like me died for cheap egg prices and a 30¢ per gallon at the pumps.
At some point people will start to wonder what we need the government for if they don’t know how to make things work around here
Looks like a good time to go to Universal Health Care. Oh and lets see how much church food pantrys step up to help others. Like those BIG MeGA or should I say MAGA churches.
Well, trusk has a concept of a plan to replace the plan that was coming in 2 weeks 8 years ago
I don't think most Americans get your Liz Trusk/British politics/austerity reference in regards to El Orange Dumpo.
My job is at stake. I specialize in working with children on the autism spectrum. 1 in 36 children in the U.S. have autism, up from the previous rate of 1 in 44. In the U.S., about 4 in 100 boys and 1 in 100 girls have autism. Boys are nearly 4 times more likely to be diagnosed with autism than girls. Without early intervention, these children will go on to live in group homes, institutions or incarcerated. All of those things cost taxpayers money. With early intervention, these children have a chance of becoming productive members of society. So people like myself save society a lot of money. You're welcome. We need to think differently.
The work you are doing is important and greatly appreciated.
I was diagnosed with autism as an adult. I did not have the help I needed in school and college. Had I received help, it may have saved me years of financial hardship and have put me in a better position socially.
I recognize that I am one of the lucky ones. Too many adults with autism end up unemployed or under-employed.
This is on top of trump STILL insisting he's going to implement his stupid tariff scheme. And people having to start paying on their student loans.

Maybe you thought the cuts would never come for you MAGA or conservative voters. When it comes for your family members will you care then or is ,"owning the libs" is more important.
Rejoice, all those that voted for against your their best interests and those who didn't bother at all, the gqp & the dept of grifting extraordinaires err, gov't efficiency would go above & beyond to make sure that you're well taken care of especially during your seasons of hardship.
I have a cousin, that is a most definite right wing supporter and he is actually a newly US citizen. Just passed the test A little bit before trump had his first term. And he really needs to rely on snap for his kids but seeing how the way that he is, he probably doesn’t even know that because of him voting for Trump he is going to lose it off. And then I have a brother that lives in Wisconsin I wonder if his life would be even worse if he accepted the job offer that was actually postponed in one of the southern states that I think was mentioned here.
I live in Arizona and this state is beautiful but it’s last in everything we need.
