You are wrong on miners and smelters. They will go up if they have nothing to do. Their assignment only define what they works on first but if there are things to do and gold, in time everything will be done.
Is there any point leaving miners/smelters active once you've upgraded your town? They're cheap enough to run but if they're just producing ore/bars you never use it still seems like a waste.
If you're low on gold but have plenty of currency to spare, do t17s with 75+ packsize and 150+ rarity with monstrous lineage, bloodlines and glittering scarabs. Can easily net you between 200-400k per map.
Is people gonna play the whole event and abandoned the current league? I don't see the point of the event to be honest, the only thing is the mystery box and that's it

The main reason to keep them running is for port quotas to get better rewards.

People just like fresh starts, im def playing it
fresh start to have fun for like 2 weeks its good. lots of people quit league around 1 month.
