I feel your pain 🤣, farming this armor set is like a rite of passage in 4U. But very much worth it, earplugs, sharpness, critical hits and plenty of slots. Looks dope and great for helping others online too. I wonder if 3DS online is still active 🤔

Dude I have been hunting for firestones for 3 hours, I mined at all the spots available, murdered a Gravios’ wife and kids and STILL didn’t get one until one node decided to give me all three at once. Screw the desire sensor!

I needed a Plate for a SnS upgrade; cut off its tail, got a RUBY. Very nice, but not what I needed (didn't end up getting one the whole hunt). Can we trade luck

The wiki and the diagram of which monster parts I need to break to get say they do but I'm starting to think it's a conspiracy 🗿
There was one other way to farm that would be more tedious but save you from tiring yourself out hunting.
So there's an Azure Rathalos Village Quest with a subquest to deliver one Large Wyvern Tear. There is 1% chance Ruby from subquest and 2% from shiny. Simple easy way to get shiny is to flash Azure out of the sky. You can do it 5 times. Hopefully you get atleast 1 Large Wyvern Tear to farcaster and leave via subquest and if you don't get it but get Ruby through Shiny you can just finish the hunt. Also it's not hard to break head when it's flashed.
So flash 5 times, get shinies, break head and leave via subquest.
Yeah, never neglect leaving from subquest for getting materials like Gems
you got so much better of luck with the rubies than I did in my 4u playthrough, I literally had to kill 20+ azure rathalos for one ruby for my end hr set

Man my friend had the opposite problem. There’d be times where he needed extra hunts because he was off for common drops because he got the rare drops too often. Most of which being low rank rare drops too
I remember the good ol days where I didn't mind wasting an entire day farming lagiacrus for just 1 gem... or plate? Idk it's been ages. Nowadays, I don't got the time nor the patience for that sort of thing.

Just curious why not get those shiny drops or just capture him? I got a rathalos ruby once in those shiny drop
Used all of my traps off cam and i just can't be bothered for shiny, chances are too low id rather end it with a bigger chance (it was midnight i was tired)
