Why Do Furnaces Short Cycle

Thanks for the info. My becket burner is short cycling. I've got a New Yorker boiler. 2 zones. It's been about 2 years since I've gone through it / changed the filter etc. I'm hoping it just needs some normal maintenance. Gonna give it a shot.
