This is when BD actually had a horn book that was as difficult as it gets and their drumline moved all over the field. 1999 was the last BD show that they marched and played their asses off and were not afraid to take risk. Since 2000 their horn books have either become less difficult or they park and blow in the hardest parts of the show every year more and more. They take less risk now every year to see if they can still win and they do. This 1996 BD drum corps would sit there and wonder why their corps stopped marching and playing and taking risk with ensemble. ONLY CORPS that shows get easier every year!!!! They have the MOST TALENT!!!! That is what is insane!!! I LOVE this BD show 1996 club blue a gansters chronicle should have beat Phantom by a point.. Should not have been a tie!!! 1999 Should have beat vanguard too. Since then they have in my book won two titles that I can say they were the best out there even though the difficulty was lacking, but not nearly what it is now.
Ahn, I miss the old Drum corps without electronics and piped in music. Blue Devils and Phantom were my favorites that year. Headed to Chester PA for Dci Tour of Champions tomorrow and I can't wait.
