Can't believe he's already a year old. We shall miss seeing his beautiful face but much respect to you for guarding his online privacy. It's the right decision.

Would still be very interesting to see YOUR day as a mum! You always make me feel better about cleaning and what foods you’re cooking for your child 😊 currently have a 11 month old myself. Just nice to feel like another mum is going through the same things.

I didn't think we would get a video on 12 months, bc I know you said you wanted to make sure you keep him private as he gets older. These videos have been helpful and I love them. Thank you. I will be rewatching them.

You should do a holiday packing video of what you needed, didn’t need despite taking, etc.

If he's not throwing his food on the left side of the highchair as often maybe you could pull the mat more toward the right side to catch some of the throws better. I know you said he can throw quite far, but it might catch a bit more than not. Just a thought.

Dunelm sell pvc table cloth by the meter only a few £ per meter. Buy a couple of meters to put under the high chair and wipe down and fold up and put away after 🙂

Interesting how different view UK and Sweden have to introduce kids to preschool. Here in in Sweden children often start preschool at age 1-1,5. The introduce is 2 weeks, 1. week parens are mostly with child. 1. day just visit hang out 1,5h, 2. day parent and child is about 2h, 3rd day parent leave for about 15-45min (depending child reaction) and parent and child eat lunch at preschool. 4th day child is alone for about 2h and tries to sleep after lunch parent pick upp when child wake up. 5th day child is in preschool 9-15. 2nd week parent are stand by ready to come if needed but child is 9-15 some day eat breakfast so 8-15 and last day a normal daycare day normal 8-16 or longer.

I try to tidy up my kitchen while I cook, like if I'm waiting for water to boil or something to cook in the oven for 30 minutes

I saw a great hack the other day where a person put their child in their eating seat, but then placed them both in a plastic container (a big on), so all food spillage kept in the box. So simple but damn, I was impressed.

Would you consider moving his high chair to a non carpeted floor service during this phase. It would make a lot less work for you. I saw you had tiles when you showed your shopping. You could move it there?

Can you go to the thrift store and pick up a bedsheet that you could fold and put on the floor when your son is eating to protect the floor. Reusable and easy to wash.

What an oversight on the architects' side to make the eating nook carpeted 😅
Someone suggested getting a big pvc sheet, or maybe a cheap flat-knit "kitchen" carpet might work?. It might not be very elegant but it will be easier than scrubbing the carpet everytime.

Do you use white noise? As long as that's on in my son's room, he's usually okay... Although I do try to not make too much noise.
My son is 19 months now and he has always been overwhelmed with too much food in front of him, wouldn't al so throw it etc... So I also usually just gave him a bit at a time or spoonfed him...
Now I'm starting to give him a bowl / plate of food and seeing what he does (mostly plays with it) 😂 ... And I'm also trying to get him to feed himself with utensils...
My son is very petite, only weighing 10.3kg now at 19 months (this was actually around 18.5 months).. But at 12 and 15 months he weighted 9.2kg, so I was glad that he actually gained...
So his clothes fit him for a long time 😂 he has no bum or waist, so his shorts and pants are still 6-12m and still a bit loose...
He's healthy and eats (mostly)... But he's just small. Which I actually like..

I tend to leave the toys out for a day or two. Saves me time throughout the day and like you said they are going to play with them anyway

Wow, how is he already a year old?! Congratulations to you for this past year Momma!
I'm curious if you're concerned about his napping routine being disrupted at daycare? Just bc there are so many things going on and the noise level is not adjusted like you do at home. I know they try of course, but still.
Do you still nurse him to sleep? I guess he takes a bottle for your mom when he's there on that day, so hopefully it'll be the same at daycare!
Good luck Momma and Oryn! I know it will all go really well and he'll have a blast playing and learning while there!

If you’re in a place where you can afford a cleaner once in awhile, definitely do it. Many will do dishes as well.

Hi could you talk more about the nursery please. I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and already panicking about what options will we have in terms of childcare after my maternity leave. Do we get any hours from government? I've literally no idea how all this works 😅

Maybe get a big rug for under the table or run lino etc now? I can't imagine feeding a kid with carpet that sounds awful. My eldest is now 3.5 years and while she doesn't throw food she still occasionally makes a mess. Seema like you're doing super well 😊 xx

i know Oryn's likely used to being away from you if he's going to his grandparents on his own! I went to summer day camps that provided breakfast.
