  • Stevie Nicks is on the road with Lindsey Buckingham when they drive past a sign that inspires her to write what she considers her best song, ‘Silver Springs’. Stevie later said of the song, “I wrote ‘Silver Springs’ about Lindsey. We were in Maryland somewhere driving under a freeway sign that said Silver Spring, Maryland. And I loved the name. Silver Springs sounded like a pretty fabulous place to me. And 'You could be my silver springs' that's just a whole symbolic thing of what you could have been to me.”
As we get into the breakdown of Fleetwood Mac’s relationships, it raises the question. Can couples work together and have a healthy relationship? And is great art rooted in suffering? Fleetwood Mac share insights into the demise of their relationships that created Rumours and if that album would be the same without the troubles that you are about to hear about.

Boomer here. Well I remember the drop of FM's first album. We considered all new releases as an event, savoring them together, complete with our best grass!

I was 7 in 1977, but I was very familiar with Rumours because I had cousins in their 20s who always took my sister and me places in the car, with the radio playing. Wonderful songs.

I was born in Los Angeles in 73', i love this. Everyone in this video is in there senior year nowadays. The ones who made it to their senior years.
I love all the music.its like a soundtrack of my youth. I have 50 yrs of memories and ive hear these songs my whole life. I love all kinds of music, but tunes from 1960's ,70's & 80's bring back memories of my childhood, teen years & being a young adult. Plus i love hearing about the artist & bands how they got started or the stories they shared ❤👍

Really good job on the video. The general contours of the story are of course very well known but you manage to add a good number of very telling details that make the whole thing much more textured in a way that gives life to it. Really excellent selection of imagery as well.

It was a blessing in disguise that 'Silver Springs" was not released on Rumours. The studio version is good but their live version of 'Silver Springs' is on another level.

Yes, love that live version. I’m sure at the time she was devastated though.

@@freewheelingideas-I agree she was devastated as she has spoken about it. The live video itself is pretty telling of their still unresolved feelings toward one another. 😃

I'm still waiting for an epic movie to be made of them! I guess the group had enough when they fired Lindsey a couple of years ago! He shouldn't care; he'll get the royalty checks for life!

Bear with you that Mick Fleetwood Was looking for a female vocalist that's not accurate He was looking for a guitarist in Lindsay Buckingham and told Mick Fleetwood that were a couple so if you take me you take her and that was Stevie Nicks and that's how she got finagled into the group through Lindsay Buckingham!
