The Iconic MUSIC Scene of June 1965, is Impossible to Find Today!
In June 1965 the modern world is emerging before our very eyes. It is an exciting time as we witness the first American to walk in space while the fashion scene is drawing inspiration from the space race. Music is a mix of both wholesome pop, R&B and blues rock with the emergence of new sub-genres. Concepts and potent images are being introduced into lyrics that paint pictures of surrealism, impressionism as well as straight to the point sexual frustration. But there is also a social criticism taking root of contemporary society which some consider to be superficial. All that combined with a new jingly jangly sound that rattles onto the radio waves. From Swinging London to the hills of Laurel Canyon, June 1965 is an iconic time in music and the changes in society are starting to become apparent.

I turned 5 years old in January 1965. By then Beatlemania had already hit Singapore (where I was born and still live) and my older brother had brought me to the cinema for A Hard Day’s Night. Music was always in the air - great music! Sandie Shaw, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, The Seekers, Georgie Fame …. the list goes on. Love these videos. Please keep them coming! Thanks!

I thought Harrison was just as good as Lennon-McCartney from Help onwards. I mean, come on.. "I Need You" is much better than "Another Girl." It's not only a great Harrison tune, it's a great Beatles song.

I turned 13 in 1965. But never before RIGHT NOW -- not in the entire history of Mankind -- have so many educated people lived so freely and so abundantly and so connected to a shared, worldwide experience with near-instant communication. It is GUARANTEED to wake "THIS" generation up. MASS DEBATE TONIGHT. Left vs Right. It ought to be a real Jerk Fest. May the best insult win. Trump's theme song will be, "Sympathy for the Devil" Biden's will be "Darth Vader's March."

George played lead guitar as he was always that bit better than the others. They were seen as equal from the outside. George always wrote good songs from “Don’t bother me” onwards. His songs got more complex as John and Paul’s songs did. Not sure when the songs he wrote started to stack up to be recorded. The statement about George’s frustrations seems either exaggerated or leaving out the tensions that started to envelope the band.

Bikers, hardcore drugs, exploitation of 'love', rock stars caring more about money than people, addicts, shoplifters, babies being born and crying, people being ripped off, people hungry that can't get enough free food passed around anymore... eventually murder and slaughtering people (Manson who met and lured those girls at 67' Haight/Ashbury after he got out of prison. I mean... when you got something cool like this, eventually it's going to be taken advantage of by wolves in sheep's clothing. Abused and thrown away through time.
