@@AsetekSimSports when y"all were asking what we wanted in a sim rig, this is it. Many rigs have great options for one driver to dial it in, but I want a rig that can give a good experience for me (6'4") and my 12 year old son (~5') and his friends. Like the Asetek origin story, sharing with my sons is a big appeal in this hobby for me.
@@AsetekSimSports the ease of sharing is great with adjustability. But even for myself I find I always try to fine tune to perfection. My wheels are also different lengths so one wheel is a good bit closer to me than my other one. Would be even sweeter if there was motorized seating and steering presets with a click of a button but that may get too complicated and expensive. Anyways, nice work!
Was going to say if you guys managed to come out with a dd wheel base that had anywhere close to that tybe of adjustability i would ditch my fanatec dd1 in a heart beat lol.
I can't emphasize how important this is! Right now I'm battling golfer's elbow/ulnar nerve issues in both arms, and part of the problem (aside from bad weightlifting form) was because I had a terrible simracing ergonomic setup. Don't be dumb like me! I haven't raced in 1.5 months, hoping to make a full recovery soon =(
@@kevins7376 Hi, thanks for asking! Yes I did recover, but it took about six months. I did several nerve/tendon exercises that I found online daily along with some light weight work to get my tendons strong again. On occasion if I overwork them, I"ll start to feel slight pain but it's not too bad so long as I stop and rest a bit. Luckily the last time that happened was two months ago. As for the simrig, I actually moved earlier this year, so I adjusted the wheel height in my new space and just made sure that my elbows were bent and comfortable when driving (using your car for reference is a great starting point). I'm happy to report that the changes I made worked, and now I can race for hours without any issue so long as I get up and stretch once in awhile. Doing some warm-up exercises first also helps greatly. I hope some of that helps if you are battling any issues!
I would love to get more information regarding that wheel adjustment system you have. Is that a custom thing you guys built or can you buy that from somewhere?
We have some simulators with custom brackets and we play around with new ideas regularly - you kind of have to when you will eventually provide them ourselves ;) However, this particular sim is from the sim division of Phoenix Racing. You can find it here: sim.phoenix-racing.de/SIM-Rigs/
01:52 - Do you mean 40-55° by "between your arm and wheel"? Because first thought I had you are talking about angle of your arm (which look like 90-100°) ;)
Tbh it's actually preference lol also I saw a real gt driver the other day and it was much closer then I thought and it's due to the seats also. Being so sunk in and the wheel was way way closer then I expected. 😊
An adjustable steering wheel takes some engineering at home, no doubt. We don't have a guide ourselves (yet!) but there is probably good help to find on Reddit or in the Facebook group 'The DIY Sim Racer' :)
In this video, the seat is a ProSimu GT Seat. You can watch Christian build the simulator from scratch in this video: ua-cam.com/video/XQ5quhuRX2I/v-deo.html Full specs for the rig are in the description :)
This video actually helped me a lot thank you :) Fixed my wrist issue right away!✌
Wow that adjustable steering rack is awesome!
Yeah, it's pretty cool ;) However, very few racers have such a feature so we have tried giving advice that works no matter your setup :)

@@CaptainDomestic We hear you! That's great feedback to get and the sim racing experience is meant to shared so it makes perfect sense :)

It better be. That rig costs $20k+
I want that adjustable steering column so bad, I never knew i needed one till now lol.
Excellent video, I used this as a guide when custom building my own rig.

I'm come across the 45-50 degree elbow a few times now, but it always looks more like a right angle, 90 degrees, to me.
Yeah I got triggered when I heard that. It should be 90 degrees, that’s what I learned in rally school too, so you knew well Jacob!
45 degrees angle in relation with the ground. Forearm that is.
That is too much algebra for Mihai@@Jeckaa84
Wow!! Amazing video ❤.. where to get this adjustable steering kit??? Looks awesome!

and?
@rougesquadron521 Did you recover from your ulnar nerve issue? If you did, what did you do to recover and what changes did you do to the sim rig?

I got excited as I've been wanting a simple way to adjust the wheel like this for years.
Then I see this is a $20,000 rig or so. 😏
@@notdreadyet33 The ergonomic tips can hopefully be used in your own rig. We know an expensive rig makes many adjustments way easier :)
I see some drivers have higher wheel with very little inclination, nearly zero degrees. What's the difference with lower wheel and 5-10 degrees?

It is very much up to personal preference, yet there are some general things you should always keep in mind 😃
wow, any tips on how we could get/build a adjustable steering rack ?

Who sells an adjustable steering column? Would it work with a Simucube 2?
What cockpit is that to get the screen that close
I follow this guide and the pain is actually worse 😅
how about rally position?
Noted! Let us get back to you on that!
Thanks

What about formula?
Hi! We explain a bit more about ergonomics in formula cars in this video: ua-cam.com/video/NRfwHhcW_yw/v-deo.html
Hope you enjoy it! :D

The ergonomics of emptying your wallet 🥲
