Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for taking the time to explain Electron Configuration of Ions in AP/General Chemistry. In order to fully understand the Electron Configuration of Ions, attention must be paid to the plus and minus ions on each element. This is an error free video/lecture on UA-cam TV with the Organic Chemistry Tutor.
I have never thought that I could learn something so fast off of UA-cam as of I’m paying to go to school and I’m barely learning as soon as I watch your videos I’m just like mind blown
I was removing electrons first from 3d6 instead of 4s2 thats why i was getting number of unpaired electrons wrong for ions of elements like Fe and Cu... thanks for solving my doubt
At 8:30 , you said that the electron must be removed from 'the highest energy level' OR 'the outermost shell'. HOWEVER, both of them are not same. Highest energy level is determined by (n+l) rule which corresponds to 3d (n+l= 5) and not 4s( n+l=4). But, outermost shell is the shell with highest value of 'n' which is 4s and not 3d. Please reply and correct me if I am wrong
I think there's a bit of confusion with the wording. So n indicates which energy level the electron is on. When he said "highest energy level" he likely meant the energy level with the highest number, not the level with the highest energy. The n+l rule can help identify the highest energy subshell, meaning the subshell with the highest energy (sounds redundant but there's a distinction!). So in conclusion, you are right that the subshell with the highest energy is 3d; however, the highest energy level is 4, and this is the level which electrons should be removed from first. If there are two subshells with the same n value, the electron is removed from the subshell with the highest l value.
8:58 we pushed only one electrons from Chromium and Copper making them half and full filled orbitals respectively in one of your previous videos so why we completely removed the 4s electrons for Iron(Fe) ?
Dude my exam is gonna occur tomorrow and Now I know how the electron configuration of an ion works. Thanks dude you're that smart guy who helps everyone pass btw I always hoped that you would be a girl and I'll be your man but still we can be bros
No 4 s is higher then 3d coz In 4 s we r in energy level number 4 while in 3d we r in the energy level of 3 so the far u r way from the nucleos of the atom the biger is the energy
The electronic configuration of the compounds and non compounds can always be increased, depending on the qty of the compounds and non compounds, this way, the absorption of nutrients, healing time, as well as the configurations that is needed for the ions to work in a derived timeframe. For some minor ailments, such as bruises, scars in the skin, the said timeframe can be derived from the electron configuration, example o2 two compounds of oxygen can be increased in order to be o8, remember base compound, from the elements, can be increased including their centrifugal forces as o2, o3, all the way to 8. Exponential logarithym.

I’m doing homework on it and never covered it..
It's like they want us to fail or get low grades 😡 !! They like to see us suffer..

OMG you explained this better than any tutor or teacher I know! Plus your voice is soothing🤗
right and i can hear his little lisp lol
Can we ever hope to get a face reveal for our hero???😭😭. My man helps me everything from chemistry all the way to digital logic.
Yeah frrr I want face reveal too😭😭
God bless you for explaining things so clearly!!!

You taught it to me in ways my lazy chem teacher never could. Thank you for your service!!!
Thank u so much you are my hero!! english is not even my first language and still the best video i watched

Lifesaver. I've got a quiz on this tomorrow. So helpful!

thank you, my college professor is horrible and this was incredibly helpful!
would be great if you also explained how to identify the highest energy level/outermost shell

Why iron looses 1 3d electron, is there and reason? 9:41
Thank you soooooo much!

This really helped me a lot
thank you so. much like this is honestly such a life saver!!!

8:34 BUT 3d HAS MORE ENERGY THAN 4s. Why did I take chemistry nothing makes sense

For magnesium ,
Aren’t 4s is filled first?
merci beaucoup monseiur
8:33 you said we have to take away electron from highest energy level but dosent 3d have more energy than 4s according to n+L rule?
If value of( n+l) is equal then which has larger n value this is higher energy.
8:20 VERY important
thank you!! ❤
Superb
thank you.
Thank u sir so much
Thank you for this.Appreciate it !
Ahhh thank you so much 💞💞
Is the noble gas notation for Mg2+ [Ne] or [He]2s²2p⁶?
Prob ne
could you do one of these for the actinides and lanthanides?
Thanks for help me.
You should be the expert
Thank you thank you thank you man
do i have to write 4s0 or just disappear it
Any of them are correct

How to determine if it is cation or anion?????!!!!!!!
All to the left of the metalloids are metals except for Hydrogen but they are all positively charged ions.
Wow 😲
Could you help me to get confidence in quantum chemistry too????plsssss

For Fe2+ & Fe3+, why must I write 4s0 3d6 and 4s0 3d6, instead of 4s2 3d4 and 4s2 3d3; respectively?
tysm!!
I'm lost
wait, isn't 3d a higher energystate then 4s?
4s has a higher evergy level because 4>3, that's sort of how it works
