I just got 2 Skervesen Velociraptors, a 6 and a 7, both are amazing works of art, I am a perfectionist and they were pretty much perfect out of the box, I would have recommended you to get the World Domination Mod for yours to get more tones(Humbucker/SingleCoil/Acoustic Mode)

My expectations are as expected EXCELLENCE in a guitar.
What customers should understand, that didn't come out in your video tour in the factory, is that once they cut a neck they wait 3 months to see if the neck suffer any twist, so far I don't think they take less then 6 months before ship a guitar, IMAO all worth!

Probably someone said/wrote that already but a little trivia for you: Skervesen is a little play on a word "skurwysyn" which in Polish basically means "a son of a bitch". *flies away*
I was going to order a lefty shoggie but went with a custom mayones hydra 7 multiscale. Awaiting the results of my decision in a few months.

Aloha, i am looking at this build for my son and wondering what pickups you chose and why as I am currently looking at warpig juggernauts it is a 7 string version and he is not aware of what this old man is up to its a Christmas gift!

1) this is absolutely great guitar
2) but why oh why is the output jack in that position? that totally revokes the comfy sitting ergonomics that you mentioned once the guitar is plugged in, i am sure maybe similar position of output jack as Abasi Larada/Strandberg would be better.
3)again, no hate man, otherwise brilliant guitar, but this bugged me the moment i saw it.
That's exactly what I thought. The new Aristides headless has it in that position too but they have TWO input jacks so you have two options for where you can plug in.

If I was going for a custom would you recommend a Skerv, Mayo, Ormsby, or something else? I know it also does depend on specs/look that I want but just overall build quality and experience with the company.

They make beautiful guitars. Any custom guitars take on average about a year. I think a lot of people don’t see a difference between semi custom and custom. My EGC’s have taken about the same amount of time.
What is the difference between custom and semi custom?
Drug Joza semi Custom is guitars like the Fender Mod Shop are doing. Limited options with bodies and necks that are pre made. Full custom guitars are usually fully made to order. The options are almost unlimited if you are willing to pay. These usually take a year plus to get.
I like extended scale, not multi scale. Palm mutes just aren't as good on multi scale for me.

Absolutely stunning guitar. That case is amazing, and the guitar sounds incredible. But please don't disparage the people who deliver packages for a living. Imagine what this pandemic would be like if not for the men and women who have been working straight through this pandemic to deliver shit to, not only people's homes, but also hospitals, grocery stores, etc.

Driving baboon here. Can confirm not a lot of care goes into getting packages where they need to go super safely before it gets on my truck. Also being a musician makes it that much more heartbreaking when package handlers stack boxes on top of a guitar box.
Fuck that lead tone at 10 mins in is absolutely ridiculous . please share what your using for said tone!

When it's not even a matter of $$$, I can't buy a guitar that takes a full year to be in my hand: it's undeniably a beautiful piece of art, but an off-the-shelf Ibanez Prestige will be in my room 3 days after I order it on Sweetwater and my playing will definitely not be impaired by the lower price + it's a full year of fun with a new guitar + I still have budget for 2 more mass produced guitars (taking Ibanez as an example, could even be a Kiesel that takes "only" 10/12 weeks). Plus what am I gonna like in a year from now? In the past couple of months I've been gassing for any analog synth that's under the sun: imagine if I knew I paid $4k for a guitar that I don't have yet while I could be buying 3/4 Moogs?! This is why I like the "in stock" section of the Kiesel website, so I can get my gas fix quick and easy 😂
This is a good point. I still will want a custom in the future (Daemoness makes SICK stuff) but the whole not knowing what you'll like in a year (like his 8 string situation) is a very valid discussion
I also go the same way as you do. Nevertheless, lately I got lucky to buy a seconhand Markline Guitars custom in mint condition. I found it on a second hand site. I just had to drive an hour to grab it. Very happy with it (fanned frets 7 strings), super comfy neck, great build quality. Sometimes they also sell customs straigth on the Markline Guitars Facebook page. Usually, I buy new or second hand guitars and systematically get them upgraded by a friend who is a luthier. I will probably ask him to build a custom guitar for me because he does outstanding instruments. The feeling of a hand made custom is quite something compared to my stock models. And yes: 4k means several Moogs :p
Im sure you dont have to pay it all up front. I have a build going with hapas guitars right now. its 500 down and you pay the rest when its done.
Ya same here, the money is one thing but having to wait so long (or even longer if you have epidemics like Covid 19) is kinda of a blocker for me. There are other builders though who might take less time. I think Mayones (also from Poland) goes a bit faster but the price is higher if I recall. And as you mentioned Kiesel is like around 3 months. It's a balance between patience and knowing what you really want.
You can find some on Reverb or ask guys if they have something near completion stage. You pay upfront the deposit and the rest when it's done. I think they also have installment plan now

Pole here. Skervesen is a play on words. Skurwysyn means son of a bitch and they just made it a bit swedish sounding.
2:18 Go to a UPS or Fed Ex sorting center when they have their sorter job opening presentations (they're usually around 4:30 - 5am though) to watch the "baboons" throw your packages around lol. You'll see why they have no choice but to rush. I guarantee you won't see any fat people sorting.
