    If you stuck it out until the end, you heard there's something new in the works... any guesses??

    I'm curious as of why you thought the linear flip chip was good for the coil, I would think that you want to add progressivity to a shock that's linear.

      Valid question. Should have mentioned this in the video but forgot to - tried my 400lb spring in progressive mode before we started filming and it was too stiff… I don’t have a lighter spring, so I flipped it to try and dial it in with the 400 lb spring - which then ended up being too soft. Leaving me without a spring that worked perfectly in either position. However, I would agree that keeping it in progressive mode is likely the move with a linear coil

      Exactly my thoughts when I saw him doing that.

    Very nice. That will be fun once you get the correct spring paired with the progressive kinematics. So tempted to convert my bomber z1 to coil

      I’ll say that I certainly enjoy coil in the rear; however I found myself unhappy with the lack of adjustability with coil forks. I have a Z1 coil and started wishing for an air so that I could control the stroke better (with more precise air pressure adjustments or even volume spacers).

    I just custom built a 2021 clash and have a z1 coil and bomber cr, I just mounted the same CaneCreek progessive spring 450-550, did you need adapters for the spring?? I just put it on and it seems good but not sure if I need the CaneCreek adapters

    • @GlobalTrailGuide
      @GlobalTrailGuide  2 роки тому +1

      Very nice! I have not used any adapters. I’ve been running this shock/spring combo on my ebike for a long time without issue.

    How many clicks of preload do you run on the Z1 Coil fork?

      I’ve seen photos of clash’s with dual crowns, though I’m not familiar with the setup or if Commencal says it was designed to handle a dual crown. With the capabilities of Zebs and 38s, I’m not certain it’s worth it.

    Hey there,
    first of all: Nice Video and Bike :)
    I'm want to upgrade my Bike with an Marzocchi CR. And want to use the CaneCreek Valt Spring, just like you did in your video. You didn't use any adapters right? it works fine?

    • @GlobalTrailGuide
      @GlobalTrailGuide  2 роки тому

      Hey Daniel, thank you! That’s correct, no adapters! Super easy to install. I’m for reference I’m 70 kg and the 450-550 lb spring didn’t seem to work perfectly in either kinematic position. As always with springs, your results may vary based on weight and riding style - but coils are still awesome 😎

    • @danielkuberger9328
      @danielkuberger9328 2 роки тому +1

      @@GlobalTrailGuide okay I'm around 76kg so the 450lbs Spring could be suitable.
      What is your feeling with the Marzocchi CR? is it just a labeled Fox Van RC or is it worth the money?

    • @GlobalTrailGuide
      @GlobalTrailGuide  2 роки тому

      @@danielkuberger9328 certainly sounds like the 450 might be the sweet spot for you (depending on riding style too). No complaints from me on the CR, but also the first and only coil shock I've used - so I feel I can't give a proper conclusion. All I can say is that when I've gotten the spring right, it's super dialed.
