Yeah it’s “just a video game” A video game that I invested my free time in to become immersed into a fictional world where I could do as I pleased or feel like a part of something greater.
This hit me my guy. What you said is very true. And when us gamers get emotional or upset for what happened in the story line of a game doesn't mean we are raging just to rage or crying just to cry. It's an emotional connection between characters and it feels like we really lost someone.
I feel that, the real world is so scary and big, sometimes you can't do anything but to just sit there and do nothing because you can't do anything about it It's no longer Quake, Doom, Wolfenstein 3D or anything like that anymore, it's a story to be witnessed

We've kinda left the era of big monsters or insurmountable odds. Sure, we still have DOOM and other "simple" games for a reason, but most titles want to tell a story. Stories of grief and hardship or of victory and pride. It's not so much brain-dead fun anymore as it is to bring people an experience; like theatre or an event. It's no longer to spend time, but to witness. Who am I kidding? We know damn Well that video games as a medium have grown incredibly fast. We can sling around big words all we want, but we all know that games are more than just the play: it's an event now.

I was born in 2006 and my parents never got me most of these games, but I still look at these videos with the music in the background and get an overwhelming sense of nostalgia. Maybe when I get older and get more of my own money, I’ll buy all the 2006-2015 games I can just to get the experience

These... Men... Must die", "Sounds like someone is breaking in. It's just a storm dick, settle down" Shitting your pants when finding the cursed in uncharted, having to lead Ashley in resident evil 4, ezio's family dying, just wanting to see your wife in dead space, 'Mad world' playing over the dead in Gears of war and hearing dom say "I'm coming Maria" as he dies for you in a heroic self sacrifice, Hearing "what the..." "jesus" as you start up dead island and jam out to "who do you voodoo, bitch", all the hours of fun we've had in (relatively) friendly competition in battle field, csgo, battle front, halo. That is what I miss and will never forget.
Detroit Become Human is definitely overrated although it's still an amazing game, much better than 80% of crap that's out there. Connor's storyline easily carries the whole game and his relationship with Hank is the best part of the game.
(SPOILERS) For me, the story of Red Dead 2 is probably the most impactful piece of fiction ive experienced yet. It taught me that is never too late to do the right thing, no matter how difficult or strenuous. Arthur also reminds me a lot of my own dad, so when he finally passed away at the end, it made me feel like i had just lost someone who i held very close to my heart. Roger Clark did a great job as Arthur, and i believe he made the most memorable and human character in fiction in a long time.

The “That’s the way it is” was way sadder. The Unshaken part was more badass than sad cause that’s when you return from Guarma just as it says in the song, “unshaken.”
Honestly I also thought the "tired on the road to Shady Belle" Stand Unshaken was pretty good too. It wasn't maybe emotionally moving in the same way, but it felt like I could really truly feel Arthur's fatigue
I was born in 2002 and I think my generation is one of the last generations with all the awesome games. No Fortnite No Season Pass in every game No Toxic Kids Just pure Story and Gameplay. I wish these times would come back 😔

@@niewiemkurde900 you have no idea what kind of story you missed and you don't know what a sad game means. Red Dead 2 is by far the best and saddest game I've ever played and I've played a lot of games.
The “That’s the way it is” was way sadder. The Unshaken part was more badass than sad cause that’s when you return from Guarma just as it says in the song, “unshaken.”
Honestly I also thought the "tired on the road to Shady Belle" Stand Unshaken was pretty good too. It wasn't maybe emotionally moving in the same way, but it felt like I could really truly feel Arthur's fatigue
This deserves a 4K remaster. Excellent choice of scenes.

One of my personal favorites has to be the mass effect series. So many iconic characters and unique stories clashing together to create this star wars star trek type Mashup its still amazing and holds up well to this day
and including online games the times where we laughed so hard with friends stayed up hours past midnight laughing and playing and sometimes getting angry those are the best times

As someone who immerses myself deeply in any game i play and i’ve played games since my childhood, this is a true blessing to gamers like me, everyone in my family makes a big bad deal out of how much video games mean to me, and that’s the sad truth about non-gamers
They don’t truly understand the beauty of video games and the pictures they try to paint, even video games that seem like mindless fun are great to immerse yourself in, a video game you enjoy isn’t just an experience, it is a part of you
