The roar that Geralt has when he throws his sword at that last Crone, that's when you *know* you're at the point of no return. That man is out for blood and there is not a force in that world that is going to stop him.
I think both he and the player knew then they were at a point of no return, but not because Geralt had turned into an unstoppable killing machine. At that moment I realized that this was going to be the moment prior to the curtains closing. The last flicker of hope the medallion represented, that last driving force Geralt had held on to in order to keep living, he had just stabbed in from behind. His voice was telling. He was never going to leave that swamp.

@@juliangross3192 Spoiler warning: In the most common endings (the one where Ciri becomes Empress and the one where she becomes a Witcher) you don't actually go after the crone. It was an honour to play these games and Geralt of Rivia and Arthur Morgan are just masterpieces of characters, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the great memories
The witcher is the best game i have ever tried (very far from few) the emotions, the decisions, the endings. I literally almost had depression after finish it.
I felt like I had depression. Literally stayed in bed for hours mid day. After I finished the game I felt like I had no goals anymore. Nothing to do, because it was over. I now mostly watch playthroughs from others to fill the void that occasionally returns.
Thank you Arthur, Geralt, Scorpion, Joel, Shay Cormac, Ezio, Ghost and many other realestic unreal heros who saved my soul when the unreal real people in life hurt it.❤
Well, multiple games (if not all?) were shown multiple times. But Witcher 3, The Last of Us & Red Dead 2 are just up there, in terms of story telling.. I wonder why Mass Effect was omitted, though?
When I played the Witcher 3, I tried to delay finishing the game as slow as I possibly can when I realized how good it was after finishing family matters because it was the moment I realized how important the decisions I made were. When I finished the main story, I had the tragic ending and I really just stared blankly at the screen, recollecting my memories and moments that I spent with Vesemir and Ciri, which really hit hard when I was spawned back at Kaer Morhen. I quickly redid the last quest that could still give me a chance for a good ending and boy I was so happy I finally had it when Ciri became a witcher. Still not enough to get me through a post game depression, I played through Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. All I can say is that it helped me wrap the game up for me and now i have started to read the books and the play the older games. That last conversation you had with Regis also hit hard for me, he was like one of the best friends you can have. And that 4th wall break by Geralt? Breathtaking. I took a deep breath and finally thanked destiny for giving me the chance to play that game. The music, the story, I can't really put it into words properly.
For some reason the ending where Ciri leaves got to me even more than the bad one. Like, the latter is just a generic sad ending, yet if she leaves, it's such a rollercoaster of emotions. You get to play with her, and Geralt is ecstatic and filled to the brim with plans for their witcher life together, and then you see the nilfgaardians and suddenly realize that everything is already decided and you can't really change anything, it's like that breaking point most of us has got to experience with our friends parting ways with us, except that it obviously meant so much more for Geralt. Truly superb directing all the way around.
@@Vyakul_Mann The entire cinematic is to this day one of my most loved video game moment/cinematic of all time. Even above blizzard stuff, and god knows blizzard knows their sht. But this entire cinematic is just... Perfection.
Man, such a roller coaster of emotions while watching this video. I've never been good with words so I just can't put into words how emotionally invested I was in the Witcher 3. The masterpiece that was the main story, the dialogue , the amazingly well told and adventurous side-quests , the breathtaking beauty of Skellige and Toussaint , the devastating predicament of Olgierd and Iris broke me and Geralt breaking the fourth wall gave me goosebumps. Wish I could erase my memory and do it all over again
it is difficult to choose between two games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and The witcher 3 so we can only say that we are facing two video games that will be difficult to repeat in the future, especially Geralt and Arthur are simply perfect.
I try not to compare them honestly. They are both my favorite video games of all time and I don‘t really prefer one over the other, it‘s impossible for me to choose the „better“ game. Both are absolute masterpieces!

@@gameraj9536 ngl, RDR2 is straight up dog shit, glorified horse riding simulator. Such huge openworld and yet 95% of it is empty and there's nothing to do in it. Side quests feels like a chore. Only Casual sheeps think RDR2 is a good game, it's an utter trash.
What makes Geralt’s sadness so much more painful to watch is the fact that Witchers aren’t supposed to feel sadness. The chemicals they’ve been given to turn them into Witchers were supposed to extinguish all human emotions in them, but even with that in mind, Geralt’s love for Ciri is so great that he can’t help but cry when he sees her lifeless body.
in the books its said that their emotions were removed, but not completely. so they can't feel emotions like normal humans, but they still have the capacity for love and hatred
Pretty sure that's just a marketing thing. Witchers say they're emotionless to ordinary people so that people can trust them in slaying dreadful monsters. They're not really emotionless, it's mentioned many times in the books and even in some side quests if I remember correctly.

I’m sorry but neither of these characters are interesting. Arthur (Morgan I assume) and his entire game are so boring I have barely even pushed myself to get anywhere, and by the time I FINALLY beat Witcher 3, I was so sick of hearing Geralt talk I half considered ripping my damn ears off. On top of that he’s totally uninteresting as a person and goes through almost no development whatsoever.

In the most common endings (the one where Ciri becomes Empress and the one where she becomes a Witcher) you don't actually go after the crone. Or, if you do, it's off screen, you don't get a scene.
The scene happens in the third, "Bad" Ending where Ciri dies fighting the White Frost.

@@juliangross3192 I got that ending on my first playthrough as well. To get the other two endings, you have to take different choices in some parts of the game.
Namely, you meet with Emhyr to deliver him Ciri for the Empress ending, and you have to take the wrong choices when comforting Ciri to lower her confidence for the Bad Ending (which is probably the most cinematic and emotional).

What makes Geralt’s sadness so much more painful to watch is the fact that Witchers aren’t supposed to feel sadness.
