My top tip when fitting tambour doors is to pop a smidge of vaseline on the top runner that curls around, it helps ease the door movement while it's new.

Thank you, I converted my van recently but it was all home made, tested it out last week and hated it, no room to move around, fix high bed i couldn't even climb into [old girl here] came home deflated, then watched this video, kitchen now ordered from Kit Line Design and cannot wait for it to arrive, just eagerly awaiting the wardrobe section video :P. We have an old Van so have had to ordered unsribed which is giving me nightmare but will cross that bridge when I come to it lol. Again thank you for this video it was so entertaining :O)
Aaawwww, the units are great we love them, and scribing isn’t as hard as you think, just measure more than once to check it’s correct and you’ll be great, you can do it, if you built all your other units it will be a piece of cake for you!!

Hi John, the lifting shutter is a tambour door it just gives a bit more space in the van when accessing the cupboard to get to the water tanks under the sink, all will be revealed soon 😬😬😬 The units are extremely good and have saved us a lot of time and money and with all the delay’s we have already had with the van build it just made good sense!! Problem you have with metal hardware if it shifted it would rip the wood Appart . With it being plastic then that will break befor the wood . But to be honest there solid as a rock . And I thought the same as you untill we put them together . There so stable . Wounder what the cost in the USA would be for them
Oh my gosh. This is a brilliant company. What an amazing idea. If we have something like that over here, I haven't heard of it yet. These would work great in a cargo trailer build too. Course, I doubt it would have been cheaper than how we built ours, but would have looked prettier lol.
Yeah these units are a great idea for those who don’t know where to start or want a quick and easy build but definitely not cheaper than you guys build, you guys have done wonders with your build I have seen some great ideas that have been incorporated into your build!
A hidden cost of most van builds (and any DIY project for that matter) is the cost of tools. So a kit that you can put together with a basic tool kit is probably the smart way to go.
Very true buddy, very good call, we have more tools than most people but even with what we have there’s still things we would like to have but the expense of them is too much!

Hello to our lovely Sue, hope you are keeping well? the curtain tracks came with the curtains which came from a company called Shore Vans, hugs to you from us x
Now this has raised my curiosity!!! As how much would it be just to buy basic wood / boards form a DIY shop - as they've raised their prices I see, and build something 'roughly' camper ish...???
That would be cheaper than using lightweight laminated ply as the sheets we had originally bought for this van build have gone from around 150 a sheet to 175 a sheet and that’s not counting delivery cost, so DIY ply and wood would be a lot cheaper, we might actually look into it ourselves for another build who knows 😬😬
Hi guys, love the videos and as we are in the middle of converting a transit custom LWB (I fear our first of many conversions) would love to know where you got the curtains for the bulkhead area, or did you have them made.
Hi Pico, we got the curtains from a company called Shore Van, and they are good quality Emma can attest to that after adding more press studs, it wasn't as easy as she thought it would be due to the thickness of the material!
Hi Neiil and Emma I just want your honest opinions on the front blinds you've fitted now they've been in a while now I'm looking at the cost and thinking holy shit they're expensive should I stick with my thermal ones and wake up with them lying on the dash and floor 😅😅😅 Cheers H
Hi Howard, our opinions on the blinds are that they are extremely expensive for what they are, what they are made out seems flimsy and you have to remember not to lean on them as they can break if you are not careful as we have seen it happen, but this being said we wouldn’t be without them in the van now we have them and for us it was money well spent, they are good once you park up you can close them and forget about them.
Guys, if you changed your van would you still do it like you did with the crafter and build yourself or would you go down this route of pre made...i'm guessing you couldnt really mix and match so you would have to commit to one way
Hi David, if we changed our van we would still do it the way we did previously, nothing wring with pre cut units but personally in a larger van you just get a more personalised feel building your own and putting things where you want them, also this van build is so much smaller it was easier to use these after weighing up the costs of everything we needed and saved a lot of time and labour and we also wanted to do something a bit different in this van and had an certain look in mind.
There are different kits for different vehicles and I think prices have changed since we filmed this back in March, best thing to do would be to contact kitline design and make an enquiry
Gonna Get PB on the website tomorrow to price up built units, either that or i am gonna shove a rocket up his backside to get me on the road asap! Miss you more xx
