Everyone said my iPhone mother board was messed up from water damage. So no one would replace the battery for me. Followed your video did it myself and I was right! Thank you
for anyone that does not have a heat gun or they do not trust putting heat on the battery. Use either floss or fishing line (what ever is around) and put it around the bottom of the battery and pull down i did this and it worked.

thank you for posting the easy way to replace. Ifixit is being paid by apple to make it look as though it's tetius. hahah. I asked why they took all their parts off having no bounds to the battery removal. Apple gave them the guide to follow. this is a bad look for repair. Good for you for staying individual right to repair.
Yeah, I was wondering about that. The iFixit one is way more involved with removal of the Taptic Engine and so on. I’ll be following this guide when doing the replacement.

What I really hate about Apple is planned obsolescence. After a year, the phone doesn't charge consistently anymore. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. It's all very random. I purchased a morphie from the Apple store and won't work. My friend placed her phone on it, and it works, but mine won't.

@@AB95950 Inconsistent charging or dying with large percentage remaining may be an issue from the battery connection, unless you were draining/recharging it more than once a day it should last much longer than a year. If you still have it, it might be worth trying to follow these steps and unplug the battery connection and reconnect it. Granted that comes with the risk of damaging the screen or internal components, and who knows what else might cause that.

Okay, but remember if you assebly like this you have to admit that your phone doesn’t water resistant anymore. If you want a full water protection like before you do this change, make sure you’r using an insulator glue (like T-7000) on the frame!
Ive done over 100 battery replacements and never had to disconnect the screen assembly. Amateurs may have to.

I’ve had my XR since September 2019 and its now at 93% battery which I don’t think is too bad but I would highly recommend you only use a fast charger from Apple, I bought a cheap 30W charger from Amazon and my battery went from 96%-93% in a few days whereas I use my iPad 12W charger and it hasn’t caused a decrease in the battery capacity which is good

2:01 STOP! You're done. Removing those flex cables just to get the screen out of the way is unnecessary. Just heat the glue strips under the battery with a hair dryer and pry it out. Going any further just increases the risk of damage to the phone. None of that stuff needs to be unplugged to replace the battery.

Same steps called for on the iphone 6s I had changed the battery, and only removed the battery!! Great grandson followed the steps and screwed up his grandma's phone! My 6s still at 100% a year after installing the hicapacity battery. Got an Xr phone and just ordered a hi capacity battery for it. It is at 90% now.
Haven’t you notice that he also changed the screen adhesive? You can’t allign it with the screen still attached.
There is a difference between a professional repair and a crappy battery swap. Don’t try to cut corners when swapping the battery. It takes you around 2 minutes to get the screen off and don’t risk ripping the speaker flex in the process, which is a part of FaceID. And as we all know, FaceID can not be repaired!

Sort of, but they implemented battery locking for their new phones where if you put in a different battery, even if its an original Apple battery, the phone will give you an error and will not show you the battery health.

You need the suction cup to lift up the screen so u can put the card or guitar pick to remove it so yes but the adhesive is not important but ur phone wont be water proof

I recommend you not to change the battery on your own - because the battery you can buy will not be accepted by your iphone and it will block using face id. This is my result after changing the battery on my iphone xr

The safest thing to do is to go to apple and ask for a battery replacement, rather than buying the battery from a third party seller.
