I feel everyones pain if you had to search this video
Thanks
I'm trying to make money 😅
Thank you
:(
exactly 🥲
Best part was watching that coffee being brewed, awesome job.
For real
Yes most definitely!
Thank you, I bought 2 XRs (one for the housing and the other for internal parts) and ill be doing the swap with no experience working on phones. Thank you for this video it will help me a lot!
How did it go man?
@Santasssssssss broke the wireless charging pad on one so with the other I did a screen replacement and cleaned it up, gonna wait until I have proper tools before I touch that back glass on the working one
Tusm this helped a LOT!!! 😆
I had to change the case to an iphone XR and a Samsung Note10+. The Note was 10x easier than this installation, also much more expensive. It took me about 1.5 hrs to get all of the glass off. I did damage the wireless charging circle, but luckily it still worked. I will never do this again. The video did make it look easy, but oh no..please don't be fooled:) I think I burned my index fingers in the process. Wear heat protectant gloves if possible. I just wore regular gloves...its all I had. Good Luck ladies and gents:) Thank you so much for the video. It was an experience.
1,5hour is good job man, i will try first time tomorrow, will pick up my laser first:)
Good video. I followed the steps but made some mistakes as it was harder than expected. Be careful using the heat gun and removing the glass part around the battery location. It can melt some parts if over exposed.
IMPORTANT! Before using glue check the replacement cover fits perfect! One little piece of broken glass is noticeable.
This was exactly my thoughts when I saw he didn't do that but thanks for still pointing it out.
Thanks for the tutorial. Perfect.
Your tutorial was impeccable!!!! I followed step by step, what took me the longest was removing the glass from the bottom right of the phone. Thank you for teaching us!
Nice tutorial. Took me 3 days.
xd
muito bom o vídeo, obrigado.
Very nice video I followed step by step and i changed successfull 😊
What a good Job, but the coffe was terrific !!!!
amazing content great vid my friend camera work is just stunning what a great repair great channel keep up the good work my friend it is just amazing to whatch
Do you use a vacuum of some sort for toxic fumes?
nice video, thanks from brazil!
Will E6000 glue work for this repair?
Be careful, too much heat battery can explode, use kapton tape to cover camera lenses..
Thank you for sharing your acknowledge
Yea I learned that the hard way 😭😭😭
Wait waht do I do with the flashlight thing
where do you get your back glass? im lookinhg for a product red iphone 8 plus back glass
wow so much better than dismantling
nice work. without any provlem.
Thanks you are the best
I believe that it is not worth changing the glass without laser. It's faster and more easy to change the whole case at once xD Good tip!!
The lasers cost hundreds of pounds though
@@A1AWON1 yes, of course. So I think it is better to change the whole case.
@@A1AWON1 It might be good of an investment in the long run, compared to traditional or other methods like this one.
can you use a hair dryer instead of a heat gun?
Just bought the back glass😬 hope it gets here in one piece
😬
😬
Canceled the order, took forever to ship so I said f it
Same
Well done...👍
What temperature did you use
I want to share my experience since I don't see anyone else's in the comments. Yes this took me 6 hours. It was like chipping away at hard rock trying to remove the back of the phone. I ended up just completely severing my wireless charging pad thing. But after all this time I can honestly say this replacement will work if you take your time and give a good effort. Good luck with this, but I will never do this type of replacement ever again.
I severed mine too
Severed mine too, worried phone is completely FUBAR now
& this is why it's a love/hate relationship with how Apple construct their phones while making it difficult to repair. I applaud them for how they put so much effort into all aspects of their phone's design (from the OS to hardware) but they really like to make things difficult for consumers 😂
Is it okay to use lighter fluid to remove the excess of glue after removing the backglass of iPhone?
Thank you for the video but its far from "Easy". I've been using a heatgun but the adhesive Apple uses is incredibly strong. After an hour I've only managed to remove about 10% of the glass backing. Make sure to wear eye protection and gloves because the glass splinters and goes everywhere. I have tough calloused hands and I still managed to get a few glass splinters which are hard to remove since they're almost microscopic.
Crank that heat gun to about 550 degrees. Works great for me. Takes me about an hour to remove all glass and clean up the back of phone and I just started doing back glass.
Where you buy back glass
Hello, what to do if i kill the Wireless Charging Coil?? Could i use the phone without it?
How mouch geegres do you have on the pistol? Looks very easy for you. I need to bend and scratch and everthing. / Sweden! =)
thanks bro ❤️
Can you just place the new glass and glue it into the broken one ?
While changing the back panel
It can be dead or not
Plz..reply
How long did it take
Liked the old coffee bit
Thank you for the clear presentation. But did you realize you forgot to put the transparent piece right below the camera lense. I did not see you putting it back. But anyway, the video is a great help. Thank you for sharing. I gave you a thumbsup.
I believe he did not put back the small round piece between the cámara and light.
that's what i said when he put the glass back on or maybe he put it on the new glass.
I noticed that too
I also noticed that…
Where can i buy the glass (red)
Very nice 👌
can xsmax use the same method? no need to dissamble?
Was it the original back glass? I mean the one you removed, because I had experience with an iPhone 8 Plus back glass (completely fragmented) and it has been impossible to remove this way.
Please let me know, thank you, nice vid! :)
Its the heat. Make sure its at 320 or 350.
Good job
thank you
Thank you sir!
Thank you for the video! One question, will it effect on the water resistant part??
Probably yes. Unless repaird by Apple consider it non water resistant
Yes it will
obviously
I like your tweezer. Is it good and storing? Where to buy? Thanks for good video.
Ifixit they are from he’s just rebranded them
very good
I have that same phone but I dropped mine and seconds later when I turned it on it had a wierd blurry screen with this black hole on the side only one, and I had no case please help me fix it
Can i try this at home 😅😅
I think i will use some kinda solvent with a cloth to remove the glue, not a knife
Когда покажите на примере XS MAX? Заднее стекло разбито довольно давно...
When u’ll show for XS MAX?
The back glass is broked almost 1 year
Смысл просто менять стекло . Когда обычно и сама рамка ушатаная
Literally saved my life
Does it erase everything on your phone
@@leah266 no
Did it work or can I break my phone
@@zaveok7751 it took forever don’t do it
@@sageramirez9618 I have a heat gun tho
the links to buy are not working
What temperature did you use for the hot air?
I think he said 320 Celsius which is around 600 degrees. I personally have mine set at 540 degrees. Seems to b the sweet spot. Don’t want too hot, but same time 420 degrees wasn’t doing it. OEM glue is wayyyy strong
To make this repair easier for y'all use a glass breaker to break it up some more and use metal prying tools heat guns aren't a great idea but if you know what your doing use one CAUTIOUSLY.
Might I ask, wouldn't the use of metal prying tool risk damaging the inner workings underneath the glass? Just curios as I have never repaired an iPhone before and would have to replace the back glass on my brother's own.
Cool 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
How much is the back glass in USA dollars?
Bro, 320 degrees without open the phone is very dangerous for camera and power flat and volume
I ripped the wire at bottom right what is it for
REMOVE THE BATTERY, MINE EXPLODED
@PiggyGrunter I just tweazers, but the tweazers damaged the battery so it exploded.
I used 180 degres
Lol
Tysm
did it worked for you ? like was it hard to "remove" the glass from the back of the phone ?
THIS IS THE REMOVAL OF A REPLACEMENT GLASS THAT HAS BEEN BARELY GLUED ON
idk.. i’ve attempted on some OEM XR part phones in the shop. it shards out pretty similar to this demonstration. it isn’t a pretty job to say the least. a hot plate/heat gun @ 185-200F🌡 + denatured alcohol + super slim opening tool = a successful OEM back glass removal...
this is a piece of cake compared to a Google Pixel 3 screen assembly lift.
@@stevenbuckner8864 I’ll have to remove the battery and the board to heat this up to where this glass will come off. That’s a major job. All these videos are of glass that has been replaced. It OEM.
Yeah I just learned a huge lesson. Please removed ateast the battery because my iphone xr just exploded will i was removing the back glass.
How much is to do this?
Plot twist……..just get a case.
hello, it will still be useable under water ?
need to remove the plate no?
Can you use replacement to change color? Without removing peices??
No because there are other colored parts of the phone
@@krishkabob9847 just buttons it would look cool
I did by myself watching the video but I misplaced the white part flash below the camera , still can find the replacement for it , if anyone know where to find it let me know, thanks
I searched for this video only to assure myself that my XR has wireless changing features ☺️😁 yep now I know it has 😃
Any iPhone since they did away with the home button is wireless chargeable
Do you have to remove the glue?
(It’s not coming off)
Yes. U won’t have a perfect fit for the new back glass, when the new glue goes over the old glue.
Hello, at which temperature do you set your heatgun ?
320 Celsius. He says ut
@@isaacpabon6936 thanks, i missed it
There's always at least one.....
hey i demadged wirlesscharging cord on my 8plus and after the fix phone will reboot every 3-4min is it possible that demadged cord is causing it to do that?or is ther possibly something else that i have demadged(i was changing battery)
you probably damaged the motherboard. Its leaking fuel and will stop working
after a few days
@@Gestuit will device work after or have replace the. MagSafe ?
Did anyone try this? Did it work? Also are the links he provided for buying stuff reliable?
Don’t try guys my phone almost set up on fire, gave out spark not worth risking your health
Don’t do this! Tried this at home and the CIA came to my house with the FBI
I have one Question!
How long I can hold the Heat Gun over the Phone?
I have only a Big Heat Gun and its scared me when I do this...
I Know Battery's don't like so much Heat :\
My Phone have many little pieces bricks. its not easy.
Can’t i just put new back glass over the top because there’s still room for the camera?
I ordered one from Amazon and it happened to have glue on the back already so I literally just slapped it on top of my old glass. It slightly thicker now but looks and works fine 😌
When I click the Ali express link, the back glass sample doesn’t have the Apple logo at their back, are you sure the one they will deliver will have the logo? Please
I just ordered one and it had sticky pads on the back so I didn’t bother using the heat gun and the mess I just stuck it straight on lol but good thing is that if this glass breaks I just have to ordered another one and I can change it in 0.5 seconds as opposed to 4* hours
BRO THIS WAS LITERALLY WHAG I WAS THINKING OF DOING!! Because I bought the white XR but for December I want it to be Red and then I wanna change that one to blue or something for New Years 😂 I was like I’m not gonna break my phone even more when I can just cover the damage
@@tj2drippy351 honestly it just sticks right on the one that I bought so definitely do it!
@@oggierules3660 wasn’t it bulky on top of the old back? Or is it a perfect fit?
Is it bulky or does it come off? I’m thinking of doing that too since it seems way easier
Should I put glue even if my screen has 3m tape??
No. That’s what the 3M tape is for.
can you just glue it together?
can you just watch the tutorial?
@@strikeistrashlmao6891 stfu
whats the song name
I tried this and it's near impossible to replicate successfully without removing the motherboard, battery, and sensors. The adhesive is extremely difficult to melt and can't really be done without exceeding a safe temperature for the components inside the iPhone. I was only able to remove the corners parts and the center portion of the back glass. And afterwards, my battery no longer holds charge and one of the mic stopped working.
Oh shit were better off sending to a professional we need practice first
U did not put back the mesh that is between the camera and the flash
hi, i took off some part of the orken glass and the phone did't tunr on but later, when I put it on charge, it turned on, is that normal?
I had same issue any tips get back working
Does this remove the water resistance? Sorry silly question.
you know its silly bc you know the answer, yes!
Looks like a pain with a lot of risk. At that point sell as is. Unless it’s really bad. Otter box will cover all cracks.
Could you also use an adhesive for the back glass?
no
Hello, do i need to remove the battery for this fix ? because of the heat of the gun ?
Not if u move the heat gun to try and not over heat the phone
@@isaacpabon6936 got it will make a try thanks !
Can I do the heat gun part with a hair dryer ?
Nope..
Yes you can you just need to hold it there longer but depends on how hot your hair dryer is
Yep but not like a dollar store one like a proper one
Will hair dryer work?
yes, i used a hair dryer to replace my front screen. he also states at 4:08 an ordinary hair dryer will work.
crazy how a billionaire company makes a back piece literally glued on the phone like it was assembled by a child (and this may be happening for real)
Honestly I thought it was gonna be way harder but i managed to complete the full repair in 1 and a half hours, looking not perfect but still very good. I did break the flash function 😅
Lmao
I broke the flashlight my first time. Never did again afterwards. Trial and error, no biggie. Same here, takes me about an hour and a half as a back glass beginner
Out of curiosity how long did this entire repair take to complete ?
for me it took 4 hours
Edit: not including hardening i felt safe using it after 2 hours
@@n5gravy772 holy shit, very unfortunate situation. I feel your pain..
@@TacticleSmacticle I'm curious, what do you mean (non-iPhone user here 😅). Would be my first time repairing one as well
@@jfyne03 Well, I used to own a iphone 13 pro max and basically I cracked it, wanted to repair it myself. And nope it was hell glass was everywhere, so I switched the the new s22 ultra which was worth it. Even Apple declined to help me to fix that damn glass phone.
@@TacticleSmacticle damn, it's like Apple enjoy making things a living hell for their consumers 🤣. I had a XS Max (first iPhone in 2019). Sold it in 2020. I always wanted a Note phone so I bought the 20U and I'll never go back.
Looking at this, I think.I.would rather just take the insides out and rwplace the housing.
I’m about to just buy a new copper back glass and just glue it on top with no cracking or nothing
You know what dude, I think mine will stay cracked
