It's finally here! As promised we will start with the Lich Mythic Path. We will complete all side quests and dialogues. When I pick up special new weapons and items I will stop to show you stats, so you can decide if it would help in your own playthroughs. My main romance will be Camellia but I will also have romantic dialogue with Sosiel & Daeran. Until I get undead party members, my party will consist of Regill, Sosiel, Lann, Nenio, and Camellia. Pathfinder: WOTR is an isometric single-player role-playing story game currently in development by Russian studio Owlcat Games and published by Deep Silver, based on Paizo Publishing's Pathfinder franchise. Announced through a Kickstarter campaign in February 2020, the game will be released for PC, Microsoft Windows, and macOS on September 4, 2021. A console version for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series X Gameplay, PS5, PS5 Gameplay, Playstation 5, Playstation 5 Gameplay, will be released at a later date. The game is a sequel to Pathfinder: Kingmaker.

In WOTR the realm of Sarkoris was destroyed when Areelu Vorlesh opened a rift to the abyssal planes of existence, and hordes of demons invaded the world of Golarion. Led by the evil Demon Lords Deskari, Baphomet, and Nocticula, the abyssal forces crushed all who stood against them, turning Sarkoris into a demon‑infested land now known as the Worldwound. Join the Crusade against the demonic invasion and rise as a new hero wielding unimaginable powers in this classic CRPG. The fate of this world lies in your hands.
Pathfinder has dozens of classes and subclasses with thousands of abilities, feats, spells, talents, and buffs to choose from. The spell listing allows you to choose from Evocation (Damage Dealing), Enchantment (Crowd Control), Necromancy (Undead), Abjuration (Buffs), Illusion (Crowd Control), Divination (Buffs/Disruptor), and Conjuration (Summoning). This is combined with an insane amount of class/subclass options including Alchemist, Arcanist, Barbarian, Bard, Bloodrager, Cavalier, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Hunter, Inquisitor, Kineticist, Magus, Monk, Oracle, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Shaman, Skald, Slayer, Sorcerer, Warpriest, Witch, and Wizard! It is Owlcat's goal to give each of these classes at least 5 subclasses each!
Choose your Mythic Path and embody an Angel, Demon, merciless Lich, wily Trickster, superhero Azata, law incarnate Aeon, truly evil Swarm, merciful Gold Dragon, or forgo all of them to stand alone as a Legend. Each path will allow you to improve your hero in unique ways, adding a new layer to character development and making your hero and their allies a true match for their powerful enemies.
There are more than a dozen potential party members in the game including Camellia (Half-Elf/Spirit Hunter), Seelah (Human/Paladin), Lann (Mongrel/Zen Archer), Ember (Elf/Stigmatized Witch), Arueshalae (Succubus/Espionage Expert), Woljif (Tiefling/Eldritch Scoundrel), Daeran (Aasimar/Oracle), Sosiel (Human/Cleric), Regil (Gnome/Hellknight), Wenduag (Mongrel/Fighter), Nenio (Kitsune/Scroll Savant), Greybor (Dwarf/Slayer). All of these companions have their own backgrounds, alignments, and motivations. All of them are fully voice acted with unique character models. There are even more followers that are locked behind specific story/mythic quest options!

IMO, the main difference between the Lich and the Swarm is that the Lich can technicaly at least be bargained/negotiated with.
The Swarm will always just consume! That´s one reason why Iomedae atacks the Swarm while leaving the Lich alone
playing a law-incarnate lich is such a mood
The biggest differences between lich snd swarm.
1. Swarm is eternal hunger, you are not so much a beings anymore, as hunger incarnate. With one goal, to consume.
2. Lichs, unlike the swarm, are not necessarily world threats. There are many liches more than happy to sit in their crypts/towers etc for eternity.
3. Swarm is basically deskari 2.0 with actual diety level power.
It just feels so good to tell Iomedae to buzz off and keep your mythic power, even as Angel.
I don't know what's better. giving Iomadae the finger by keeping your power or giving everyone else the finger by rejecting it

I love Daeran. "Lol ikd flip a coin ma dude!" just make sure you make fun of the goddess to her face and he's a happy boi.
I actually makes sense she doesn't attack you. Although you're probably as much of a threat as a Lich as you where as the Swarm- the only reason why she got away with it as a Swarm is that Nocticula was also horrified and disgusted by the Swarm. So she could smite you and not cause a war between Heaven and the Abyss. Nocticula isn't disgusted by the Lich, so Iomedae wouldn't get away with it in the Demon Lords presence.
Ahhhhhhh you know what that is a great point. Thanks for bringing that up.
I swear, the Lich mythic path has a number of the coolest, most powerful moments in the entire game. "I am a gold dragon" or "I am a mortal" or event the Azata option all sound so flat next to "I am a lord of death."
The difference is that there's no stopping a swarm. The only thing they care about is food. As long as there is food and a single insect remaining, they will not stop. You must starve them to death, but unfortunately, the worldwound provides access to the abyss, and unlimited food...
A lich is vulnerable. There is an object they obsess over, as it is their life. Not to mention, undead are weak to positive energy, and what do paladins and clerics tend to have up their sleeve?

So minor thing. You asked why the swarm is more terrifying then the lich. I can answer that with some of my table top experience now keep in mind alot of this is lore stuff.
Back before Pazio made pathfinder pazio worked for DnD and made 3rd party adventure modules for 3.5 DnD. They released a module called Age of Worms in dungeon magazine (starting in issue 124). It was one of the single best adventure modules I have ever had the pleasure of playing.
The synopsis is that an entity Kyuss is a diety who will hearld the downfall of humanity and the age of Worms a time of darkness and death for all beings. You must learn about the cult, stop the summoning of the diety and end the age before it ever truly begins.
In this you learn that Kyuss and his priests who have turned into Worms that Walk that as long as a single entity a single worm still lives. You can regrow. You're a lich that goes beyond being a lich your a lich with thousands upon thousands of phylacteties. Each holding a shard of your growing hivemind and malevolent purpose. It quickly become apparent that you need the intervention and assistance of the gods to find and destroy every last one and even though seeds and fractures of Kyuss still exist on other planes killing Kyuss doesn't end the age of Worms. It only prolongs his eventual inevitable feast.
Yikes! I used several Worm that Walks photos for my Swarm thumbnails but wasn't aware of that history. Thanks for explaining the lore.

With the goddess lack of fear against the lich, is likely due that her warriors are equipment to deal eith undead and there only one lich
The swarm on the other hand is unyielding in its numbers
I'm surprised Nenio has no comment on you escaping death, and asking you to help her do the same, I'm sure being nigh-immortal would let her fill her Encyclopedia with even more "research"

The Commander sat in quiet contemplation as he digested what Zacharius and Paralictor Derenge said. The ineffectiveness of the past crusades was undeniable. Yet what the haughty undead proposed was not an easy path. Save the world from the demonic invasion but become an enemy of almost the whole world at the same time, not to mention several deities... can he shoulder the burden of this duty?
And as he heard the anguished cries of untold thousands of ghosts of all those who gave their lives in order to end this war, his will solidified. Yes. He will carry this duty through, even beyond the grave.
Tar-Baphon almost became a new undead deity so a Lich should not be underestimated - but they can be reasonable.
In my Lawful Evil runs I let the saders leave unharmed since we fight the same threat and allied with the enlightened kingdom of Geb. Unironically one of the most prosperous and peaceful nation on Golarion under Lady Arazni but more than capable of protecting themselves.
Tried Death Knight (Sylvan Sorcerer 6 - Hellknight Signifer (Gate) 3 - Eldritch Knight 10 +1 Sorcerer level at 20) and full caster (Sage Sorcerer, Ascended) runs both, Death Knight felt better, I will attempt that one on my Core diff run sometime in the future.
Headcanon: after becoming the minor deity of wows and duty beyond the grave put his realm at the edge of the Maelstrom between Nethys and Urgathoa, with Death, Law, Knowledge, Magic domains.
I was really tempted to play a Death Knight but Cruoromancer was clearly meant to be Lich so I stuck with that.

I personally couldn't go through with the lich entrance to drezen, it leaves things a bit too bleak, and my character at least is not vying for a city of the dead, the dead are a tool, but it's life she saves. As such, while i do continue to go lich, against the demons i went legend. Leaves the city alive and hopefully doesn't cause issue in the future.
Nope my Lich is now beyond caring about the living. The dead are all that matter.

Same goes for Demon path. I mean, c'mon, I literally started my own demonic invasion 😁 Drezen is full of demons and cultists. And even that paladin, dont know, how to spell her name in English, didn't left. Like, ok, u r prick, but I'm ok with it. As if some rotten Lich or Swarm of hungry cockroaches is more horrific then, actually, a new Demon Lord (spoiler, if u manage to overthrough that hot demon lady)
I loved taking over the whole of Golarion ending as the Demon Lord.
I cannot wait to play as a Demon.

As a lich (death knight) my guy finds it agonizing to listen to them preaching on how there is no hope if I lead
We've had this conversation before, but Iomedae's repeat of Galfrey's mistake sickens me all the more here with Lich. *ACT*, Goddess of Light, *DO SOMETHING*.
Yeah it's crazy she would just let Galfrey be enslaved.
@@SlanderedGaming i know this is old but its implied that the lich commander was protected by urgathoa and shes wayyy older and more powerful than iomadae thats why she sold galfrey off lol
@@voidofastora6032 Is age synonymous with power in the Pathfinder deity hierarchy? My understanding is Iomedae became exceptionally powerful even though she is new on the scene. I am not by any means an expert on Pathfinder lore though.

iomadae is powerfull no doubt but its said her power is like a small grain of sand to the powerful Sarenrae
and sarenrae herself is a small grain of sand to pharasma who is considered to be the second most powerful god after azathoth and yes H. P. Lovecraft outer gods are present in pathfinder and they are the strongest lol
@@SlanderedGaming I think there's something important to note. One thing in lore is that time that diety war nearly did break out: Desna went and ganked someone for messing with a favorite. Think they were a demon lord, but the end result was that for the first time ever, the Demon Lords managed to unite. Another dieth had to defuse the situation.
The relative power of Urgathoa and Iomadae aren't nearly as important here as other deities involved. The moment Iomadae steps in with the Galfrey situation on Golarion, she makes it a diety fight.
Sure, she may have the backing of the good gods, but Urgathoa no doubt would have similar backing. Because both sets of gods know that if they allow direct intervention like that in all but the most extreme cases, it will lead to direct conflict. It's also why Nocticula is using you as her proxy, and Iomadae uses the r crusades, and why her herald showing is such a big deal.
Think of it like the cold war. The US and USSR fought plenty of proxy conflicts, but backed down in the face of direct conflict because of how quickly that would and could escalate.
