When kAN pulled out the paint tool when being attacked, it reminded me of when I learned that painting bots will make them attack each other. Me, thinking of the potential, made a paint tool in survival and went exploring. I figured if I encountered a horde, I'd just pain them different colors. I just missed one small detail... That ability is a creative thing ONLY. Yep... Found that out the hard way..
You could make walls on the sides of the farm, then you build trailers that align with the walls and are activated by color sensors. The trailers would be able to be parked wherever and you'd just drive it to the farm, they would align and start working right away! You could have any kind of trailers this way.
I cried after seeing the simplicity of your gear system. I made one that works half as well, and uses 3 pistons, and a billion bearings. totally not glitchy.
For good seeding (and efficient watering), use a distance measuring wheel. Place one wheel on a free bearing. Place blocks on it, one, two or four for different timings. Place a sensor and some logic blocks. When the switch is on AND the sensor is active, fire a pulse. Then your speed doesn't matter.
On the keeping wocs at your base, you need to build a platform of any sort of block and as long as you feed them they should still be there even when you leave the tile.
The Front trailer axle is taking valuable weight off the tractor. The rear trailer axle set back like that is prefect. Just remove the that front one and it will be so much better. Love your video's great personality for this co-op world.
To do the seeds, place a "timing fence" along the edge of the farm plots. This fence can be 3 or 4 high so its a guide for the tractor... Then in the center of each row, have a colored block that sets off a sensor telling the seeds to fire.
you can spread the water cannons out a bit, they hit an area, so they dont need to be each perfectly on a farm plot. I water 5 wide farm plots with 3 cannons
I love your videos. This new series with Cosmo is amazing so far. I am so excited for future videos and all of the possibilities. Keep up the amazing work and have a great day.
Make either the moc avenger or the terabyte from GTA online in survival and you can store vehicles in the back (bonus try to make an oppressor Mk 1 or mk 2 with two spud guns alternating shots and as soon as they add underwater vehicles to the game make the stormberg and or the scramjet and or the deluxo use pictures if you need to)
If that tractor and trailer doesn't work well, you could make a turret that just shoots water onto the soil from the shore. Or, you know, just build a big, heavy brick.
Put colored blocks at the ends of the farm and put color sensors on the trailer so you can get the timing right for the water. And you should put rails on the farm that the tractor runs on to keep it aligned
It's interesting how piston engines were a big thing at the start of the first survival series, but they've basically disappeared since. I was wondering if they'd make a comeback for this one, but it seems like a geared controller is as close as you're going to get. I find that a little bit sad, but I'm not entirely sure why. More relevantly, if you're worried about alignment, you might want to lay down some tracks along the plots, that way you just have to fit your tractor to the tracks. You could also use colored blocks or notches to trigger a seeding mechanism, so you don't have to get the timings perfect.
If you put guides next to the farm, you can make the tractor a portable version of your auto farm (use sensor and blocks to shoot water). Then you can drive the tractor down the middle and the guides keep the trailer in the middle. I also noticed you have 6 plots wide but only 5! water guns.
Pumps sucking oil into pipe line-> pipeline leads to chest line and stacks-> chest line/stacks lead into craft bot crafting gas on loop-> ouput chest stacks and lines-> INFINITE GAS

Need to add metal or concrete to the bottom on the tracker and move the front wheel in the slab (Longer tracker). And maybe put a secret set of big wheels on the back wheels.
do what u do with automated farms. use sensors on the tractor. and have blocks that can be sensed on the side where the sensor is. u just have to align the tractor properly. so maybe have blocks to help with that
Have the hitch below the middle of the wheel so you don't spin. also distribute the weight so that there is more on the back wheel (maybe make the whole tractor metal?)
Scrap mechanic feature request: Import a "template block" from creative, which operates identically to the "build your first car" quest, in that it highlights a hologram of all the pieces to place to finish the template. Don't get me wrong, stairway is funn every now and again, but don't you think a piston elevator would be nice to have for conviency for the "rare" times you would want the express route over the scenic route? (I'm talking one that doesn't use seats and has a door that opens and closes on a timer based on how long it takes to drop and rise). I think it would be a fun build regardless. I made an automatic drawbridge in my world that only stays open for X amount of seconds. I'm sure one that stays closed for X amount of seconds would be equally possible. . . the hard part is triggering the pistons, and the door timer for the rotation controller (or other pistons if the door is a rising design) all with one switch (or 2 buttons to call the elevator when it's not on your floor). I'd love to see how you would pull this off in a future video
Scrap mechanic gods: "Allright lets check the death list: ok the players are dieing from hunger thats normal, big red boi died from lift... not even going to ask"
Just put a pole that comes from over the tractor and it's set on a timer with 5 seed shooters that retract and all you do is sit at one end of the far and press a button
Here is an idea to save resources and fuel for vehicles: So what you do is you make a truck and then you have a platform with what ever you want. Chemicals, rock. etc. but on those platforms you have legs that hold it up and then you drive to truck under the platform. You would have different platforms for different stuff. If I didn’t explain it good then look up “It Runner” and instead of a hook you would have legs and drive the truck under. You would also have barriers (or what every you want) to stop the platform from sliding off and then something (what ever you want) can fold up from the back and hold it on. Then to take it off you would drop to barriers, put the legs down, and drive away. Tell me if you think that would work and what you think of it.
6 minutes in: honestly man, I'd rather chop trees down and do it that way myself, It just feels more natural, real... it adds the realism into the game that I like about games. thats just me though.
Why not frame in the farm plots and use a sensor to control water and seed distribution? If it sees a block at each plot, then controller speed and such wont be as crucial. Plus, it will help keep the tractor rolling straight.
If you put a bunch of pistons on the bottom of your treehouse and put a hook at the bottom, you could lift up your car everytime you get home to guarantee that it won't be devastated by bots
When you leave the tiles the collision with the parts and blocks become disabled but the woks are still able move around for a good bit more distance before unloading
I've personally never had a problem with loosing Wocs. I've only ever kept one in my base, but if you build a fairly tall wall around your pen they should stay put. I've gone to the trader multiple times without loosing my Woc
if you have never seen the haybots give up like that before, then you clearly haven't seen the horrible, horrible things that scrapman has done to some of the haybots in his survival world. not all of them, though. he domesticated one of the haybots
21:48 Actually tractor is powerful enough but you put the weight to the front but the car is rear wheel drive. So the brick weight thing is not helpful at grip.
Hmmm make a hole farm and stuff. Also make a super multiplayer with The multi Monday crew!!! Then you can all make a society and all have diffrent joba
KAN i have an idea for the tractor how u can make sure you don't miss a block soil... make a "doorway" for the tractor above the soil so that the trailer just fits and be sure that the the trailer can not move to the side so it will stay straight... And maybe for the refilling of the water you can put pistons that push the containers with the pumps in the water when u are on a dock. is this a good idea?

Put in rails that the trailer runs on to keep it centered over the soil, should also work with the planting if you get the tractor at a good speed.

Whats the point of a gear system.

It's actually not unusual to have weight kits for smaller tractors IRL that are literally just making them heavier.
Its in case you have a heavy piece of machinery on the front, then you put a weight on the back to balance it out
and the back tires are filled with water to add more weight
Of course, in the end, kAN just builds a brick
Lol
Only on the front.

I love that tractor idea. But I am reminded of how we do things that are so much harder than manual labor in Scrap Mechanic, just because it's cool.
since sensors could detect plants you could use that to not shoot seeds when there is a signal.
If that tractor and trailer doesn't work well, you could make a turret that just shoots water onto the soil from the shore.
Or, you know, just build a big, heavy brick.
who would have thought that the real world is actually pretty efficient lol
You should make it so the last few steps comes up like a door for your base

The speed of the water is actually faster on a 0.25ms timer rather than a 0.00ms timer. I don't know why but it is.

for the seeding tractor you can try to use color sensors so it fires every time it detects its a new color thats how i build mine atleast

many tractors does have a concrete counterweight in the front to not fliip back from heavy trailers expecially the older ones
