Me and my friend did almost the exact same thing, but we just threw ours together with tier three and scrap and we had the gunner at the back. The gunner could also change the engine speed and we had these arms with spiny blades that popped out. That was so much fun :D
To be fair the basic spud guns are the best for sniping tape bots. I just complain when they go up against hay bots and farm bots without the big guns.
Kan, if you are wondering why the spudgun hits the lower "wall" when you crouch shoot in the tank, it's because of the code of the spudgun. I dug through the codes and some experiments and I found out the potato spawns slightly lower and shoots up at an angle, not straight from the camera. It becomes really obvious when you increase the fire velocity of the spudgun in the code, as it travels into the sky if it's high enough.
If you put a 2-wide bar on bearings, you can rotate the bar to change the height of the viewport more accurately than just relying on the grid-aligned parts.
Awesome idea for the 2-player tank variant! To avoid getting high-centered on tape like that, make your bottom layer out of small pipes - pretty much all the small obstructions in the warehouse have a one-block hitbox. The small pipes have hit boxes that are like .75 of a block, so you can roll over them better. Double wheels help too. No need to worry about durability - tapebots don't shoot low.

So, Kan as easy as you think this was, I actually know a way to 'evolve' your tank to make things even easier, like stupidly easier. I'm going to tweet you about that that as well in a minute.

With about 50cm ammor allover the tank. It showed invisible to the warehouse troop. Designed and builded by kan in 2021 at Treehouse Design and Tech Industry(TDTI). This tank uses the scrapemechaninc Lv.5 electrical engine(SM L5 electrical engine). This tank have a weired design chose of both driver and gunner expose to the enermy. If you leave the game Uninstall it load up gta 5 and do a specific casino heist at 6:47 and completing it in exactly 43 minutes and 7 seconds and then complete minecraft in 3 hours and relaunch the game and no scope the encrypter you can loot the wherehouse
Not bait, some of the big green chests not attached to the ground, you can take them with you. One type of ruins in silo fields have them (1-floor ruin, they angled). Also they spawn in big ruins with 2 red tanks upside (4 free chests), just check it out with your hammer!
Maybe you could use some piston to cover the gunners slots so their hard to shoot through and then when you need to shoot you could raise or lower them
Here is an idea: put a button in the back of the tank that just makes the whole thing go forwards so you can get off the tank, let it just move forwards, and shoot the lever when the tank is in a room in a position you want it to be in. Then you have got cover then you can move remotely.
In the office there are black cabinets with blue stripes. There are usually 2 by the stairs in the office sections. Those have loot in them. Always check them. I really think you can make a tank smaller... I almost think a saw on the front might help so they do not run up against you and shoot you. I actually think their gun sticks through the blocks. I have seen them shoot through wall corners and door frames that way before. Update... I made one and it is small. It is 5x10 blocks. It is powered by controllers. I have a drill and spud gun up front and it is completely closed in except a tiny hole in the top. You can click through the wheel well to get in the seat from the side. To make it small it has three wheels like a hi-lo with the back wheel turning and powered. It is a bit tippy, but if you keep the speed down it is fine. I'm horrible with logic units and such so this was my work around. You press 1 to go forward and because it is a level 5 seat you can turn the back wheel a full 90 degrees for super tight turns. If you took the gun off and ammo canister off it would be even smaller. I could also no armor the back wheel and trim a bit there too.
Kan, you can have 2 block holes with half block items on both sides of the hole (like screws/bolt heads) this allows for better aim out, but tape bots can't shoot in! Plus have the the whole line of blocks behind the wheel raise up, only need 2 pistons then one for each 3 wheels and stop high centering, also why not have a turret on the tank? That way the driver can shoot too?
YES!!! The warehouse elevator says no vehicles MEANS MAKE ONE!!! Hahaha!!! Awesome 2 player tank kAN, mine looked like a trolley. Tip: - The tapes on the ground are used as tank traps you can shoot or sledge them. (the devs know we'd bring a tank) - You don't have to use the vent, when you exit the utility lane (usually at the left) the cracked wall is the short cut just bring explosive.

i think you should make pistol ports that 2 blocks that split apart mounted on a long access to get a very tight and adjustable slit at standing height
I think adding the ability to loot everything in a warehouse would be really unfair considering how much there is in a single one. Especially for early game; it would take the fun out of progressing towards high tier materials.
add Mounted spud-guns with sensors on a logic gate loop so if the tape bots get close enough then they'll explode of potato (add a safe switch so the spud-guns cant shoot without it active)
i think they will make it functional. that yellow crane in ceiling is a loose object with bearings. logic electric engines and stuff. its already made. its just hard to get out because of its size. gonna take alot of blast dmg when chopping it in 2. also elevator fit a 11x11x22 object. either vehicle or loot. i have a forklift built inside a warehouse and slowly looting it for all things. just remember to bring alot of blocks you can use to fill blast holes so you still can drive around. small explosives got a 10 block blast radius and easy to work with.
I have an idea to make a half slot, what if you use the long tiny bars on the floor? put them horizontally on the floor and maybe you can get wedged between them at a slightly lower height
warehouse tank is scrap mechanic equivalent of 10tp light tank -immune to small arms fire -fully automatic main gun -little to no armor on the top and back -slow -tracks are vulnerable to almost nothing -two man crew (driver & gunner)
If tape bots can’t destroy tier 3 metal, why not just make a box and rush the entire warehouse? It would be less interesting but I don’t have friends so I feel like that would be effective
I built mine with a saw blade powered by a controller on the front with two pistons, it really saved on spud ammo. Oddly enough the tape covering the doorways can't be cut so i ended up using the saw blade to kill tapebots and spuds to open passages. On the final floor i always ditched the tanks and roughed it because of the explosive bots.
Give the back a wall and a wheel bar thus no dragging and for corners you could use pistons to lift it or contolers to lift/turn the bar,it also mean no falling over backwards ,problem solved
Dude, this would actually be fun in real life, some guy buys an old warehouse, makes a ramshackle two person tank out of an atv or something and you and your buddy with paintball guns go around completing quests like turning on the power, starting a large engine, etc, all while fighting people the place hired to handy cap themselves for your fun. Would be so good.
I know you are mostly focused on Scrap Mechanic, but have you ever thought of doing a TerraTech series? Rovers, planes, hovercraft, fixed/mobile bases, lots of different weapons -- hundreds of blocks to create stuff. Even has a coop campaign (I haven't looked at it, though).
You really need 3 tanks to properly clear rooms. And 3 people per tank. Two tor gunning and one for driving. As long as yo7 can load multiple people into the warehouse. One after the other.
Kan, man, just because you've got all the green boxes doesn't mean you should hoard all the higher tier boxes. Make sure you split them evenly with Kosmo, to be fair.
Fun fact, the code to enable to disable the protection of the warehouse once the encryptor is removed is commented out in the script (meaning that the computer does not recognize the code as instructions to act upon). It is literally, and I do mean literally, impossible to disable the encryptor in the vanilla game.
Make the armour thicker or add spaced armour that dose not interfere with shooting and also how to not wearhouse correctly 101. Also imagine this verses the new wearhouse boss when that is added
I just had an idea, if ragdolling makes you invincible than you could just make a vehicle to ragdoll the passenger and then you could transport the passenger to dangerous locations and back without any fear of the passenger dyeing
Y'all should add a like a turret, then like warehouse keys for like that bit of visibility and just shoot'em cuz your protected, only thing I see bad is like if the turret breaks.
Taking tanks into warehouses is a really good feature, since Scrap mechanic is a game about vehicles, not an FPS.
Cover the floor of the gunner area with warehouse keys or screws to get a slight hight increase

You need pistons for the rear wheels so you can raise the rear, and better shoot out of the front when the enemies are at the mid to close range.
You do have a point. At the same time though, you do have more risk, seeing that you could get hit by a lobbing tape roll if you're not careful.

Take the woc crates from the warehouse. They are as durable as warehouse keys and are loose on the floor so can be easily hammered to the elevator.

Kan here is a tip I think will help, you put 1 row of blocks on top of the previous roof so that a tape not can't hit the hair of your head

Ragdoll only makes you invincible to fall damage, bots can still hurt you though.

It might mean having it be one layer higher, but you could probably add a bed under the seat.
Beds don't work in warehouses, you would have to leave the tank outside for the bed to work. I think you can see why that is not possible.
Imagine if they designed the tank to look like a forklift. I see this as a misopportunity.
