This was a great video and I certainly learned a lot. I found it really cool that even without knowing much about Marcus, I saw a lot of the things I practice when making leadership decisions that align with how Marcus ruled. Where other people might see a decision he made and say "why," I was just nodding along like, "That makes perfect sense." Also, as someone who does tend to bemoan how people chase fame and infamy to the detriment of general decency now, I find it endlessly hilarious that you have a guy like Marcus who has reached levels of infamy by doing everything possible to LIMIT his exposure to the spotlight unless necessary he be there.🤣🤣

Perhaps more important than the Fi implication of making his brother a co-emperor, the Te aspect of contingency, redundancy, failsafe & second opinion (that's not muddled by power dynamics) of the deal is where it's actually at. Instead of spending time, resources & mental health fending off the second most powerful person of his time (resultant being A-B, which is less than either A or B) he makes him join the effort (resultant being A+B, which is more than either A or B). Worst case scenario, Se-dom Lucius spends his time hedonistically (which he kinda did) without being a threat to the Marcus, the throne, or the Roman people. Honestly, he had a long time to plan this (and ensure that Lucius - an ESTP - is still best prepared in ways to bring this plan to fruition) so it's not surprising, but it's quintessentially INTJ-like.
That's a good analysis and I definitely considered that. What made me go the Fi route was that he initially kept denying the throne and only agreed to it once they accepted his brother as co-emporer. So it sounds like he doesn't care to maintain the power and that he'd be just as happy if Lucius took over completely.

The story of Aurelius' reign starts when his adoptive father died, and it just so happened that he was the only one available to assume the position of emperor. Despite being under 17, he accepted it, not because he was irrational, but because his mentors were the stoics, and Aurelius subordinated himself to the Stoic doctrine, he abided its laws and value, he rigorously grounded his perceptions to reason, which is why he became the famous Stoic we know him as today.“ Strictly adhering to a clearly defined moral system is quite evident of Aurelius‘ rationality. An irrational type is far less concerned with judgement / the approach to life one should take, and are instead more interested in the perception itself. Generally speaking most people agree that Aurelius was a rational type, some even argue that he was an introverted feeler instead of a thinker, which I personally don’t agree with. Anyway, Aurelius is a pretty good example of introverted thinking, at least in the classical jungian sense.
@@justcallmejon22 his proclivity to orient himself and strictly adhere to a philosophical system of morality reveals the underlying rationality of his character. This works much better for introverted thinking than intuition.

However upon deeper analysis, we see that he was like that not because he was irrational - on the contrary, it was because he was Rational. The story of Aurelius' reign starts when his adoptive father died, and it just so happened that he was the only one available to assume the position of emperor. Despite being under 17, he accepted it, not because he was irrational, but because his mentors were the stoics, and Aurelius subordinated himself to the Stoic doctrine, he abided its laws and value, he rigorously grounded his perceptions to reason, which is why he became the famous Stoic we know him as today.“
Strictly adhering to a clearly defined moral system is quite evident of Aurelius‘ rationality.
