Ryuji in C is absolutely insane. He’s hands down the best physical attacker in P5. I mean, party wide charge alone should be enough to bump to B even if he belongs in A.

Ted is not A tier because he's strong. He is because he has so many buffs/debuffs that he allows MC to act more freely instead of using his turn to cast them himself.
Yeah, Teddie is a buffs dispenser, like Aigis
Kasumi and Akechi being so good but extremely limited in availability is the prime reason I wanted Royal on PC, so we could mod them into the party early. I wish they were playable in Strikers; didn't need our expect any story for them, I just wanted to use them.
Oh are you talking about the early party members mod on game banana? If so i also use it and i gotta say Akechi is kinda awful until he learns a almighty skill

@@kichiroumitsurugi4363 i’d disagree because the enemies weak to light in the early game are some of the weakest guys around in the Palace and alot of the Stronger ones either dont care or nullify Bless/Curse (Berith, Shiki and whatever the Yellow guy spamming Ma-Eiha in Madarames palace is)
The only times in the early game where i could recall Bless saving me was against the Rakshasa and for Curse it was Archangel but after that nothing seemed to care about Bless or Curse.

Akechi isn’t that great as a party member tbh. His damage isn’t good since he doesn’t learn any amps or boosts, and him having debilitate isn’t even that special considering every character can learn it
I guess to give Haru some Credit, she learns the Karn skills (Her Ultimate Skill applying Both at once), the Gun & Psy Boost / Amps, She learns One-Shot Kill so you could in theory make her a crit spammer strength user or a Mage who deals tech damage with ailments.
Also yes, I agree, Koromaru is too precious to put on the Field.
Plus the fact that she's a psy user and technical hits can knock down enemies now make her broken tbh.
It’s very slightly nerfed in Royal but I’ve always been a proponent of Triple Down over OSK. Obviously multi targeting moves are inherently riskier but it does a better job of melting through enemies like butter.
Haru's so cool with how she can do two very different things really well. She can either go primarily for tech fishing with psy attacks or focus more on Gun attacks, which is like the strongest element in the game
The Lisa/Ginko thing is a pun. Her last name is Silverman and silver in Japanese is Gin. The "ko" part I'm less sure of other than its a common girl name ending and depending on the kanji could mean "child" making her Silverchild instead of Silverman.
The joke is that -ko is added to girl names (it's the same -ko that's in Yukiko). So instead of "silverman" she's called "silverwoman."
im pretty sure her name changes to ginko in menus after eikichi says ginko and she says "dont call me that" (but its been a while since ive played so im not very sure if this was the scene that the name changes)

Susano-o has been the ultimate persona for three separate characters: Masao Inaba, Yosuke Hanamura, and Yusuke Kitagawa. Susano-o was also the ultimate persona of the Fool Arcana in Persona 3. Which meant Susano-o has been in four separate arcanas, the most of any persona, he has been Chariot (P1, P2:IS, P2:EP), Fool (P3), Magician (P4), and Emperor (P5)
Loki also was in 4 different arcanas, devil (P1), tower (P2 Duology), Fool (P3 and P4) and justice (P5)
Also, SPOILER, if you played SMTV, Half of the MC is Susano-o. MC combines with Aogami to become the Nahobino, and around the 3/4s point in the game he is revealed to be Susano-o
@@HallalemonYou aren't really half susanoo though. Aogami and the protags fusion is what's called a nahobino, in universe the true form of a god. So the demon susanoo and the mc become the full potential susanoo
I cannot get down with ryuji in C. With agility buffs I've never had a problem with him missing and yusuke lacking power charge gives him a lower damage output. Plus shock in P5 is really broken, once you inflict it you've essentially won the battle since you can just keep getting crits back to back and spamming all out attacks
I've always just used the party wide buffs group. Ryuji for good elec, phys, and atk up. Yusuke for ice, strong technicals, and eva/acc up. Then there's Makoto with nuke, healing, and def up, and nuclear+elec/ice or phys+elec/ice make for a devastating combo when the enemy doesn't have an exploitable weakness, but not the right resistances to avoid freeze and shock.

Mark is actually one of the better magical nukes believe it or not. There's a chariot persona early on that learns Megido and if you give it to Mark (which you should because it's his specialty) he's stronger than a dex maxed MC.
This is going to ignite every Persona page, group and i am all for it.
Yukiko definitely deserves an S tier. She is definitely the most valuable party member in persona 4. Her healing is good but what really sets her apart in my experience is her sheer nuking potential. Kanji and naoto are good, but I think yukiko is definitely a step above them. Teddie deserves an A tier too, he's definitely just as useful as kanji
Kanji should be pushed up, yukiko I feel seems like A tier fits her magic is a bit awkward but in golden they gave her an oomph to hit hard but physical is still the meta and there is only the one boss that pushes you to use magic and it's only in golden. Teddie could go in S for how good his support his, Chie should go up A. Naoto I think should move down to C tier because her weak damage and if your really good with the MC she doesn't add much

@@marijnlastname3132 Kanji and Chie consistently hit harder in most cases except the last few bosses that add a physical resistance and yukiko will exceed both
Akihiko on B tier is criminal. I pretty much perma slot him through the game. You can't deny his range of utility especially if you are on first playthrough or if it is your firat persona game. Because he specialize in one of the core mechanic of megaten game, debuff.
Iirc, you can also build yukiko by adding mind charge by bike riding, and then equip the spell master accessory, then boom, she is the Fire Goddess herself

Yukiko does so much damage cuz you can give her mind charge through the bike rides and she has fire boost/amp so she's the party member that's best suited for boss fights since they have the hidden 50% phys resistance
Ryuji gets Matarukaja which is amazing, learns power charge naturally which is a pretty big boon over Yusuke, and shock is VERY good in Royal since, unlike freeze, it'll stay applied after hitting a technical for a lot of damage. There's also his trait which is just a massive power boost whenever it triggers
As for Makoto, she's broken solely because of the gun that gives +11 to all stats cuz there's a weird bug in p5 where weapon stats are applied twice so Makoto has a +22 to EVERY stat along with all her utility
I remember going through P5 mostly with Yusuke and Ryuji. Since Yusuke gains Sukukaja he raises accuracy for the party. Then I just freeze or shock enemies and send them to oblivion with their high Phys skills and technicals. Makoto was also there mainly for support. Akechi was like three turned by a God Hand crit from Ryuji which was really funny.
I feel it's insane to complain about Mitsuru's AI but in the same breath put Akihiko in A tier. He prioritizes Sukunda over Rakunda/Tarunda half the time, and if you put him on supportive it's not unheard of to have him prioritize single target debuffs over the AOE ones. And then against Nyx, putting him on supportive is a waste, yet he's probably a worse attacker than Mitsuru by that point in the game.
You also mentioned that Yukari had slightly better magic than Mitsuru, and that is true, but Mitsuru gets Ice Amp. Their damage isn't even in the same zip code.
Akihiko is still a valuable asset for the debuffs alone

In Persona 1 I remember fusing a dead fish looking persona that had high affinity with the protagonist. Whenever he got at low HP it decided to literally nuke the enemies into oblivion and in my play through it activated frequently. I loved that randomness of 1 tbh.

He got worse over time due to magic in royal with myriad truths being the best move in the game, by that point physical attacks would only be used for crits and well kasumi and yusuke who might not hit as hard have more to offer with a heat riser 2.0 buff and a crit buff

Not sure why did that reply mention Myriad Truths but they're right about Yusuke being a better physical attacker than Ryuji in Royal, as he can get both Charge and some pretty good strength boosting equipament.
Koromaru is easily one of the most underrated characters
Two Immunities, High Health, High Speed, Counter, Fire Amp+Boost, and Two Spell Types makes him a really strong caster for coverage and gives him a lot of sustain
I usually run him into the end for the dual immunities alone
He's also the only other character outside of Aigis that gets Masukukaja.

He effectively only has 1 immunity, since Light/Dark affinity may as well not exist
He also does NOT stack Fire Boost and Amp, he replaces Boost with Amp
Also, one of his spell types is instakills, so it also doesn't count

Ryuji should be higher. He’s a great team member and is the #1 character that has never left my team throughout my 6 playthroughs. He’s there with me at the beginning, middle, AND the end. I also like to have Makato with me too!
I think he should be on B, A if it’s vanilla or royal without the dlc
P3R with all its additions has made a lot of party members shine. The different characteristics and theurgies have made so many characters more fun to use.

Ryuji missing is just due to bad luck on your end.
Ryuji, Yusuke, and Ann as the core team by the endgame is the most OP of the bunch since you end up killing everything so fast that taking damage yourself matters very little.
Oh yeah, Ryuji and Ann in particular are both absolute cannons by end game. Shit, i can even get plenty of mileage out of Haru's gun skills

He’s definitely not as bad as you make him out to be. As far as OG P5 ( never played Royal), even though Yusuke has s stronger start than him, it more than evens out with swift strike, and he only gets better with Charge and God’s Hand. Dude should be in A as well.
Ann never left my party. I honestly consider her to be probably the most well rounded out of the cast in P5 (outside of MC of course). High magic damage with mind charge later, status’ to lock down enemies( especially in 3rd and 5th dungeon where alot are either res/null phys or don’t have weakness, thus draining sp faster if trying to brute force it, Matarunda to mitigate damage during boss battles, and the Dia line as an emergency heal, AND dekaja as well. She has more answers to fights than most of the cast in P5 and still focuses as a being a magic nuker. She’s an S from me personally, but I could live with high A.
On the note of Morgana, and being as objective as possible, I'd probably say he's best for Palace/Mementos crawling and Makoto's better for bosses, Morgana's Lucky Punch skills are pretty decent for knocking down enemies you might not be able to right away (or later on in Royal potentially all enemies), but I think it's worth noting that Makoto does not get party healing herself until she gets Mediarama which helps Morgana in the earlier game over Makoto. From what I've seen generally Morgana's armor situation isn't thaaat much lower than armor for women on average, sometimes pretty even, his weapon power does seem on the lower end, but also high accuracy which can help for his chances of stealing items. While I do feel he was done dirty with the writing, I don't think his combat side suffers that much, just more on the side of having lower HP and Endurance, which won't help him for bosses
I agree with a lot with this except Ryuji and Yusuke I think they should switch just because I believe has some of the highest def and hp out of all party members making it so he can use physical moves with out you needing to worry if he is going to die, but you talks about Ryuji missing a lot but the even when playing hard mode he did not really miss at all but maybe I'm lucky. Yusuke on the other hand I would use him and I think he is still good but he just does not have the hp to use for physical moves I will say that he also has the higher strength then Ryuji.

Yep, Original PS2 version Teddie is beast
teddie literally has healing skills, a dungeon escape skill, an increase defence and offence skill, a debuff exhaustion skill, and hits like a truck without an attack buff
He is actually pretty good in both versions, he can be the primary support character when paired with chie and kanji, in golden he can now do physical attacks as well which physical in 4 is the go to so he can do a bit more on the offense without draining sp so quickly

I was so surprised he ranked Morg so low considering how useful I found Morg during Yalba fight. Granted I don’t use Morg all the time but he’s not as bad as Nyarly exaggerates him to be, he’s definitely got his uses and Lucky Punch is genuinely useful early game where you might not be able to hit every weakness to negotiate with Personas

With Reload coming out, Koromaru is one of the best party members equipment, magic, and bonus stats wise. Koromaru usually goes first attack wise, so setting up Revolution with equipment that greatly boosts critical hits in other nembers usually means critical hits all around.
Glad Kanji is on A tier too, because of how busted physical moves are in P4 he's a must have party member. Earlier in the game he has Torrent Shot which is also an amazing skill. Just a great party member throughout the game (unlike Chie which kinda sucks mid-game), the only downside is that he doesn't get any physical attack for all foes :/ also his third awakening skill is garbage
Yosuke's third awakening skill on the other hand is actually really great!! It's basically Masukukaja + Mediarama with the same cost as Masukukaja. You can focus Yukiko on fire attack because she's a fucking beast (honestly best party member hands down). I have to disagree on Naoto though, she's amazing for sweeping dungeon shadows but for bosses she's really not that good, her magic stat is mid :(

Morgana is an A tier character for me, and this is mostly due to the lucky punch skills. In my experience, these completely blow through palaces with crits and his high luck, and conserve sp, which is nice. Dying in two hits sucks, but clearing 80 percent of the game is incredible. The lil guy was almost always in my party.
Akechi is a C tier. He has a lot of coverage, but nothing truly worthwhile because magic is just not worth it, in addition to having no elemental amp skills. The only interesting skills are debilitate, riot gun, and lavaetinn (or however you spell that), but you only get them in Maruki's, which is far too late. Using him is like running a marathon in rain boots when you have running shoes at home. Technically workable, but why?
Haru is at least a B tier. Her psy skills are good, but the real kicker is the gun skills. Getting amp and boost in rare and hella useful, making her a consistent damage dealer with One Shot Kill throughout boss fights and random encounters. Plus, the karakarn skills, heat riser and amrita shower add some extra versatility which is always nice. Sucks that her actual gun is straight ass though.
I hope P3 Reload adds the feature of the whole team gaining exp, in and outside of battle. Only so I can finally use Koro and Shinji.

A good idea... except for Shinjiro as he doesn't stay long and alive with how VERY short his tenure in the team lasts.
He just sucks big time cause you don't even keep him long enough to fully develop him as a playable character.
In fact, almost every JRPG has such a character: joins the party for a VERY short while, has great potential but then permanently leaves the party
Those I consider to be the worst characters in JRPGs IMO
Mona's lucky punch carries early game and has use throughout the whole game aint no way he D tier its a lot more helpful then makos meh damage he also has very high evasion late game he dodges very often he's B imo 🙌
His MAG is very similar to Makotos throughout the whole run? And both get the Tier upgrades, Boosts and Amps at similar levels. Big thing is that Makotos not frail, has a better element and has a trait that synergies with most of the team?
More stuff
Nuclear > Wind
Nuke gimmick is that it techs off of Shock, Freeze and Burn. Ryuji and Ann get the rate boosts for these statuses up so they can often provide opportunities for Makoto to Baton pass. The fact that her trait boosts this rate of which these are inflicted by 25% significantly supports this as a effective tactic.
Winds gimmick is that its a bit cheaper by like 1-2 points and it techs off of Burn (and Confuse if you read a cool book). Its not bad and can save up enough for maybe one extra healing turn buts its not great.
Critical hits are cool but the moves unreliable with 75% accuracy on top of the 60% crit cap.
While this is endgame Makoto actually gets a High Crit Ultimate weapon though I don’t know the the Crit % its good enough for me to put it above the Crit Punches due to not taking a Skillslot,not have a Hp cost or 75% Accuracy.

Had Zenkichi and Sophia been in an RPG Persona game rather than Warriors I wonder what they would've been like. I suppose Zenkichi would be specialize in Almighty and Gun attacks, but not so sure on Sophia.
Sophia wouldve been light user and probably a bit of healing / physical.
I mean, you can see their movesets.
Zenkichi probably would've been a pretty cool support that gets all 3 buffs + Debilitate but probably wouldn't have gotten any Almighty boosts so his damage would be crap
Sophia would just be a 3rd healer but with Bless skills instead of Wind or Nuke

I mostly agree but personally I would put all the mascots (Koromaru, Teddy and Morgana) on B, and Haru and Aigis on A, I just found them very useful

Naoto is way too high. She's basically worthless outside of random encounters, and when you're playing P4, the boss fights are always gonna be the biggest struggle. The only thing she can do against bosses is physical moves or almighty, which you're gonna run out of SP before the fight is halfway over due to how spongy P4 bosses are
I kinda feel the same, sure she gets all the dyne spells but she doesn’t get the boosts, only mind charge which is effectively just a 25% damage boost for magic that literally every other party member gets access to, but that’s all she has for damage other than her ice boost gun. But even still, in a casual run she will likely be the most useful party member for most of your playtime, just absolutely blasting through the dungeons. It’s easy to forget that even though bosses are the most important fights, they aren’t the bulk of the game so I can understand the placement. People really overrate her damage though, just seeing mind charge and thinking she’s great. I’d probably say B tier.

@@willbill6942 ah have you not played Golden? In the original she doesn’t get any of the dyne spells but in golden she starts with Agidyne and Garudyne, and gets Bufudyne and Ziodyne by taking her on bike rides. She’s pretty bad in the original, but Golden did make her a lot better.
Yukiko is a top-tier healer with salvation alongside with teddie with armrita & supportive buffs. Both of them can surpass yukari where she only possesses “me patra” & “charmdi”
What's crazy is that I used koromaru for the final battle ☠️ lil bro was an absolute beast in that fight ☠️ (This was for FES)
Personally I would put ken in A tier due to how good his grinding abilities are, in a game like p3 that’s really useful
Only change I'd make is Makoto. I'd place her in S because of the equipment bonus bug that they didn't fix in Royal, and there aren't many enemies that use Psy attacks that are actually a threat.
Ryuji being placed so low seems to be widely contended and I agree. Outside of multihit/aoe skills he doesnt really miss that often between 400hrs on both versions of the game. Party power charge is good especially paired with Hyakka in end game so its worth the 1 turn of set up for 3/4 of the party to go all the way in on damage next turn.
I've also never really understood the argument for makoto being as hyped up as she is. If its nuclear damage, joker likely already fills that role. She isnt dealing more damage than ryuji on phys, she's too balanced to outdamage or outheal ann and yusuke has the benefit of good phys damage, good speed, built to crit, and having a chance to set up technicals with ryuji. Maybe I'm crazy but when you have 3 specialists and you are the best all-rounder in the game, why ever slot makoto aside from just liking makoto?
Not that it matters being a single player game and all.
Its morso the fact shes a jack of all trades and pretty damn good in most areas (except phys) and can play healer while offering other things (which Mona struggles with).
Also her best gun is a +22 to all stats due to the double stat bug the game has (reapplying stat boosts again in battle but it’s invisible)
She also has amazing Synergy with the party with her Nuclear Teching off of Burn,Shock and Freeze and having a trait that boosts the rate that they are inflicted significantly (on top of Ann and Ryuji getting rate boosts on their own). This also provides alot of baton pass opportunities.
Want a Phys team? Slot Makoto so those Shocks/Freeze will happen. For Phys Techs (and so she can Nuclear Tech for good damage).
Magic Team? Ann and Makoto is insane with Anns amazing Mag DPS followed up by Makotos Nuclear techs doing great damage.
Dont want Damage at the moment? she has good END and Marukaja and Mediarama/Mediarahan
I also think Joker as an argument is weak because you can use him for literally anything. And a if you are gonna use it then you gotta acknowledge the baton chains she’s providing that leads to some of Jokers big damage.
Makoto gets away with the kit she does because Morgana is just THAT bad of a healer in comparison that Makoto basically has no real competition. Also, access to Marakukaja too
I'm kind of surprised Akechi isn't split into his 2 different ones considering 3rd Semester has a different move pool. I really wish in Third Semester they gave you both Personas though, make Robin Hood curse/bless/buffing and Loki Almighty/Physical/Debuff

Even if you do give him Charge using the jazz club/fighting spirit, I’d rather use Ann since her damage output with Concentrated Blazing Hell and Fire Boost/Amo outdamages him by a mile. Plus extra affinities is useful for the first phase of the true final boss. My favourite lineup is Ryuji, Ann and Haru with Joker on support

This is quite the accurate tier list for the Persona party members.
It’s enjoyable to listen to your knowledge on everybody.
Mark is that high? His strength is great, but considering how important speed is in Persona 1, it's very common he fails to get participation exp and therefore lags a couple levels behind the party. He's often a notable weak link unless you waste time grinding him up.
Wow, Junpei is... high. He has a really painful weakness during mid-game, and doesn't get his best skills for quite late, with a big skill gap. His physical is great, but... he's a one-trick pony with little to fall back on during the many mid-gate physical resistant bosses. Who also exploit his weakness, as wind is commonly used during that period.
AIGIS IN SAME TIER AS JUNPEI?! She's like a Junpei who has other things she can do! And she'll NEVER get downed unless her weakness is hit, her sturdiness and her not falling when she misses an attack is excellent.
Morgana's not THAT bad combat-wise. Makoto is better, obviously, and you can more easily pick another character, but Morgana can dodge quite a bit and keep healing duties once you level him enough. Plus, his luck attack can be reeeeally useful for knocking down enemies who you can't exploit.

I do disagree with your opinion on Junpei, mostly because Aigis never really gets to use her physical attacks- which are generally less effective than Junpei's- because she's too busy keeping your buffs up, Junpei doesn't need to worry about that.
Plus in my experience, Junpei is one of the most unkillable behemoths on your party by the end game, having one of the highest Max HP pools and effectively getting Regenerate 3 iirc how spring of life works.
It doesn't help as much as it could because he only gains most of his defensive prowess late in the game, but don't discount how much punishment he chan take; and Brave Blade will usually be better than most of Aogis' physical skills.
Amusingly enough Junpei only really suffers much in the mid-game, where his specialties aren't as valuable to the team-
He's not universally on my final team because so many of the p3 cast are so good...But he always has a good showing when he is.
Of the persona 1 cast members, Brown was my personal favorite and having him cover multiple options was fun.
i love tier lists because i also make that type of content I try to keep it a bit shorter tho, always less than 15 mins if i can.
I think the note on Morgana's equipment deserves special mention, as like with Teddy, he has very specific exclusive armor that only HE can wear, which greatly limits him and makes the player have to go out of their way to actually get the most out of Morgana in their party. Thus making you want to use him even less. Atleast his confident is automatic atleast.
For me, Ken and Koromaru from P3 should be at a B or A because they can use at least dual element, like Zio and Hama for Ken and Mudo and Agi for Koromaru. And if they are equipped with elemental weapon, then they can cover three elements at once.
B tier imo
I know this came out before p3 Reload but specifically Reload Ken could go in A, his 2nd Theurgy is absolutely insane, full heal/revive and on top of that a next attack reflect. But he's also got both light and electric coverage and access to Medirahan. Not including Makoto, Ken is my vote for best party member in Reload
Yukiko is an easy S tier. She's the only character throughout all of the persona games that is uncontestably busted from the moment you get her all the way until the end of the game.
morgana is def A-B tier. abuses his high crit rate and keep 1 wind move for coverage, heal when nessessary.
also koromaru should be in B. Two Immunities, High Health, High Speed, Counter, Fire Amp+Boost, and Two Spell Types makes him a really strong caster for coverage and gives him a lot of sustain as per @shadedergu9921
also the old marin karin excuses with mitsuru is lame. good vid nontheless.

I just finished my first play through of p4g and I have to say your assessment of those characters is spot on.
The Persona 2 character placement make me sad. The meta in P2 is just to have everyone with an arcana that levels magic or agility since those are the best stats in the game and can save time in a lot of fights. Especially in IS where strength doesn't actually increase damage for physical skills, it only affects weapon damage. Despite thaf Eikichi is still a really good caster as he has good compalibility with Emperor and World arcana and can have a really good SP pool later in the game. This contrasts with Jun who has low SP and fights with Eikichi for the World arcana or Maya for magician. At least Maya can also use agility personas like her moon arcana since she'll be great in either magic or agility. Lisa has some not so great compatibilty with only Judgement being good for magic boosting and she shares that with Yukino and Maya. But if you can push through that she can definitely be like Maya lategame with high magic and agility.
While I can partly understand why you wouldn't use Koromaru due to him being a dog, and him joining pretty late, but you gotta at least try him out if you're ever going to go for a physical crit focused team. I'm talking about Reload here, but either way his skills are just so damn good! And even though he's helpful for physical, he also excels in magic damage, often dealing more than MC, even with a Persona like Alice
teddie and yukiko are great ain't gonna lie. teddie has an ability that allows you to escape a dungeon, has healing skills, and debuff exhaustion skill (also can deal good damage). yukiko is also a great healer and salvation is a great skill, although it cost a lot id you don't use chakra ring (also can deal decent amounts of damage). yosuke is also another great party member. he has dia/rama/rahan skills, has 2 strong wind skills, dekaja, also brave blade, and masukukaja/sukukaja
Yosuke isn’t good as a character wind is a rare weakness element post kanji’s dungeon. P4 has a meta for specialisation and both him and naoto suffer for this. You would actually be better for Yu to just learn his niche skills and put someone else on the team like kanji in instead

Kanji is good purely for having the highest damage output outside of Yu, yosuke has the problem of not being specialised to anything besides speed and wind attacks are rarely useful for weakness exploits compared to the others. Yu alone can grab his niche abilities like wind and dekaja and he will hit harder paired with the other specialised damage dealers and you aren’t missing anything from yosuke because a couple characters can hit harder than him or just give out better support

Good team. Its got the highest damage potential in the game and abuses the easiest technicals in the game to hit since stun and freeze both tech off phys gun and nuke with freeze even letting you bypass phys and gun immunity. Alongside also having the best buffs besides yusuke cause attack debuffing and defense debuffing is better the agility buff.

But other wise, the team blasts through most enemies, and for bosses everyones always got a heat riser up, basically negating all weaknesses of each party member

Makoto isn't my fav girl, but gameplay wise she's my fav party member ever. She has extremely strong pyhsical skills, buff skills, and nuke skills. She's always in my party throughout all of P5, and what's funnier is that she's also extremely broken in Strikers.
I personally use Koromaru and Ken when climbing the tower, or when grinding for quests. Koromaru's evasion rate combined with Fire/Dark make him pretty nice with random mobs. Not amazing but I would put him higher because of that use
You didn’t even mention Haru’s third awakening skill. It at least makes her b tier imo.
I feel like I'm going to get flamed for this, but I always kept all "healers" in my party over damage and buffs during my first playthrough of the modern games, with the exception of Aigis in P3. By the end of each game, the teams I picked were all leveled out pretty decently to the point where if one or two went down, the remaining ones could pick up the slack for healing and damage while the protag was the main buffer/damager. I have yet to play the first two Persona games, but when I do, I'll try to strategize differently.
For anyone curious, my party for each game were:
- Aigis, Yukari, Akihiko/Mitsuru (I swapped Aki and Mit out on occasion and rarely used Ken; team didn't change for the Answer either)
- Yosuke, Yukiko, Teddie (I stopped using Chie when I got Teddie)
- Ann, Morgana, Makoto (As much as I love Ryuji and Yusuke and Haru, I kept Makoto in if I ever needed physical damage other than Joker)

When you play P3 or the PQ games, Yukari is incredibly swole due to carrying all of SEES (and Investigation Team AND Phantom Thieves) all by herself
Nobody really talking about Metis in the comments but she's so completely overtuned already with what you mentioned, but also has cracked Orgia Mode that also eliminates spell costs. Absolutely should be in at least S imho, she makes dungeon crawling trivial compared to without her
i remember trying to get reiji for the first time. his questline makes no sense, even on subsequent playthroughs. There's no advice on where to go, you just have to do the age ole' talk to everyone.
It might be from always using them as a dream team double act but I'd have put Teddie and Yukiko in S Tier. I find running the two of them together makes the already easy P4 a total faceroll.

Rei and Zen: They go in C because they always felt off to me. They can do a lot, but I’d rather have almost anyone else. Only reason they’re in C is because I rarely took them out of my party for story reasons.
Sophia: A. She was a staple in my P5S party. Her healing was great, and her bless damage was super welcome.
Zenkichi: S. He’s really cool, his combos feel good, and he hits like a truck. I love him and will not have my mind changed.
Erina: B. Super useful. Her charge skill almost guarentees getting a 1MORE, and she can move very far. Only reason she isn’t in A is because her forget aspected attacks screwed me over way too often.
Toshiro: B. I like a lot about Toshiro. His almighty/gun attacks are really cool. His ability to place temporary cover has saved me several times. The only thing that stops me from putting him higher is that if he dies, it’s game over, no matter how many baton passes you have.

morgana is a stable in my party. he's the main healer + garu is the cheapest magic skill so you get more uses out of it + i like taking chances with Miracle punch. and i remember he has a high evasion rate to compensate for his endurance.
on the other hand.. yusuke is (not exaggerating) the only party member i NEVER USE across 4 playthroughs
i can not stand for this ryuji slander idk what you did to piss him off but hes a crit god for me and absolutely destroys with phys
In my first playthrough of royal the moment I got yusuke I dropped morgana for the rest of the game and on my current modded run I have all party members unlocked and got rid of him almost instantly 😂
I don't understand the morgana hate tbh. He's one of the only characters in P5 whose personal issues don't get resolved instantly and actually takes time for him to learn from his mistakes so he can develop as the game goes on.
He is annoying, i didnt mind him that much, but i got really annoyed aswell during the okumura arc.

The name "Morgana" is a play on Morgan Le fay. Merlin's disciple in the Legend of King Arthur. Morgana(Morgan)serves as a stand-in for Igor(Merlin). At the end of the game, Morgana plays the role of another character from the same mythos. The Lady of the Lake. Morgana was the one who guided Joker to humanity's collective hope, this is what allowed Joker to summon Satanael. Within the context of the final part of the story, Morgana is the Lady of the Lake, Joker is Arthur, Hope is Excalibur.
As the literal embodiment of hope, it makes sense that Morgana would be cocky, arrogant, and had hopes that could never be. That's really what Morgana is all about as a character. Hope, it' nuances and it's relationship with despair. So no, Morgana is arguably the strongest in Persona 5 in terms of lore. The problem is, again, most western players don't know any of this.

People can talk all day about how his character is deep, how the underlying themes tied to him and the anarchy route are briliant, when the actual story and character in the game are insufferable.
(Also japan always votes Ryuji as the least likeable team member, lets be real, that is insane)

I think I have to disagree about yusuke, I feel that after Mona he is the worst member, I mean hit/evade buff is arguably the least important buff and it is a bit redundant due to his high agility, his strength stat is poor compared to ryuji. It feels like he hits like a wet noodle. And I’d argue that haru just outclasses him with her physical damage too and in royal she is a much better support too
Yusuke has the highest STR stat, Ryuji has the highest END stat. Yusuke also gets a weapon early that grants him like +5 STR (which becomes +10 because the game re-applies it in battle). Brave Blade is fairly weaker than Gods Hand though.
Morgana, while annoying at times as a character, pretty much always ends up on my final team. Royal helps him alot, both as a character in my opinion and as a fighter.

Headling In persona 5 is something that can be done with items without problems as the game throws many healing items at you and stronger ones are easy to get. Salvation is good but not something you really need.
I don't think how long they are available should be a factor. Sumire's moveset is a crit farming machine and if she was in any other palace she'd be broken there too. The character is fundamentally broken and should be S tier.
Also how was Yukiko not S? Koromaru has 2 immunities so he should be higher A lot of characters should be bumped up 1 tier. Even Morgana. If you take Morgana to the Jazz Club his defense can be better. With the right builds you can make anyone broken.
Sumire would be great in alot of palaces, the problem is that she isn’t in any of them so we have to take into consideration when you get them because you can be the best party member with Physical attacks but if the palaces you’re available in have Repel Phys then that renders you kinda moot
It should be, actually. Rebellion Blade, for instance, reads like an insane skill on paper, until that is, you realize Akechi only has it for one day
Yukiko is not S tier because she got screwed over by how magic got severely nerfed
Koromaru's 2 nulls don't do him many favors, neither Fire nor Dark are common enemy affinities
Morgana being reliant on Jazz Club to compete with Makoto doesn't make him good
