I’m a hardcore Cradle Of Filth fan and this new album has very excited they haven’t had this level of intensity in years and I’m glad to see a more classic Cradle sound making a return

These guys are like fine wine as well. This Band became there own sound. Dani for his age is fucking amazing with his screams. I didn't really like the last record much but this album might come back as a fire kick ass Album!. Also I know you guys looked up a couple songs by them. Check out Graveside confession by Carnifex it's the Album name and it's out September 3!!!
Good news. Graveside Confessions video will be out Tuesday. I got the album already so a review will be out before Sept. and I believe Scott Ian Lewis will be coming on the channel for a chat.

Definitely agree that this song has sooooo much going on in it, reminds me of her ghost (the female/choir vocals) but also guitars and drums are giving me manticore (particularly the abhorrent) vibes, pretty great stuff all together

"Summer dying fast" will probably stay my favorite COF songforever, this one feels good in most parts but is a bit overloaded here and there for my personal taste

Amazing track! I’m a huge fan of everything they have done to (incl.) Midian and they returned to form with Godspeed on the devil‘s thunder. From that album on, each album - except for The manticore - was great. Very optimistic the next one will be as well. The track is very complex, bombastic and has so many layers while still being catchy in a way.

Nope. This a new keybordist/ female vocalist. Liv Kristine is who sang on Nymphetine, she was the female vocalist in Theatre of Tragedy and Leaves Eyes. In the rest of the album the femela vocalist is Sarah Jezebel Deva
They announced their new keyboardist Annabelle on the live stream they did recently.

I've never been much of a Cradle of Filth fan, but I have to say that their Hammer of the Witches album is pretty awesome and definitely worth checking out (and his vox aren't too annoying on that album). This song/video is pretty cool too.

The first time I listened to it I was like, it’s fine but I wasn’t really excited and I'm a big fan, but I think I'm liking it more now. You’re right about the drums. There are certain parts where Marthus accentuates things and it really works. Richard is amazing and I missed a solo from him specially at the end because I thought there was some space for that, but the riffing by both guitarists is super tight. The whole band sounds super tight. The video helps too. Watching them is always a fun experience.
This song is really well constructed so for those that might not immediately gravitate towards i think it will grow on them.
Yeah after the last album where there were guitar solos, twin melodies and crazy thrash metal riffage all over the place, I kind of was expecting that too. I felt like there was something missing on this track and I think that is what it was.
Totally agree with comments re the vocals. Best for years for Dani. Felt he started to wane a little past few albums but totally back on form now. The covid break has clearly done him good. Plus best song for years.

you guys should check out The smoke of her burning of the Damnation and a day album... in fact that whole album is often over looked by fans even..it's one of their most experimental albums vocally and sonically.
Oh i love Damnation. It was an outlier in a period of poor (for Cof standards) stuff but I love some of the material. Since Hammer these guys have been razor sharp
Midian and Damnation and a day are what got me really into COF. Like how this new song is a call back to that era too.

Everytime when COF has female vocals at backround those songs are great. Same thing in big picture for BM scene. Dimmu Borgir has some great pieces with female vocals and if you listen The Covenant (later The Kovenant) album Nexus Polaris from 1998 it wouldn´t be such a classic album. A very interesting single. They've been on roll since Hammer of the witches (save for that totally unnecessary re-recording of Dusk and her embrace that butchered A Gothic Romance). The lyrics, cover art and soundscape make it seem like their darkest album since Midian.
That wasn't a re-recording. It was the original recording. Original dusk release was technically the re-recording.
@@HollowAscension You're right actually, hence "The original sin". My bad. It's cool they released it but man, the 1996 version is miles ahead. Except maybe Beauty slept in sodom. That one, the "original sin" version might just be better.

It's a cool videoclip, but I feel like CoF can only be really appreciated by reading the lyrics.
But I was always curious: can a native english speaker tell me if these vocals are understandable for their ears without lyrics?
Not a native speaker here but I can understand them most of them usually, save for when it gets faster/thrashier and noisier or when Dani gets more intensely pitchy. It goes without saying Dani's Milton-esque poetry is the high point of Cradle, though. Especially Midian, to my personal opinion.
Native speaker, not much. You really have to study and memorize the lyrics to understand what he's saying.
Never been a fan of Cradle neither but this song was just brilliant. Looking forward to the album.

Yeah, it's a real shame. I'm on the wrong side of this as well. Song sounds great apart from the vocals. If it was a regular black metal voice, I probably would have been a fan for years already.

I've never been, and never will be, a COF fan but a lot like Dimmu Borgir every once in a while they release a song I kind of like. I think I just like that main riff. This song makes me want to go watch Stargate:SG1 and root for Apophis.

Id say that the song sounds good, has a lot of punch and Dani's voice still delivers. But I don't see myself listening to this song very often, just like everything they've recorded since Midian. The band overall always sounds great, but the "magic" has been absent since CATB, or if you want to be generous, since Midian.
90’s COF was amazing, I’m a big fan of that era. (In a few days Dusk & her embrace will turn 25 years old!) But this new material is totally not my thing, such a boring composition. The band sounds so much weaker than it did in its prime. I guess that makes sense because all band members from 90’s COF left 20ish years ago and Dani doesn’t compose music. 😢
